Härtetest bestanden!
Seit März 2003 bieten 28 Außengehäuse GH-KIT
von CBC den Überwachungskameras an der
Deutschen Botschaft in Brasilien umfassenden
Schutz vor extremen Wettereinflüssen. Sogar
die berüchtigten wolkenbruchartigen Regengüsse
haben die Gehäuse mit Bravour gemeistert.
Die Sicherheitsanlagen der Deutschen Botschaft in
Brasilia sind modernisiert worden. Ausstatter für
Videoüberwachungstechnik ist die Berlin-Brandenburgische ASiPlan GmbH. Dieses Unternehmen
verfügt über langjährige Erfahrungen in der Sicherheitstechnik, von der Beratung über die Projektplanung bis hin zur Installation und Wartung. Dabei
zeigt der CCTV-Bereich das stärkste Wachstum
neben den Sparten Einbruch- und Brandmeldeanlagen, Zutrittskontrolle und Zeiterfassung. „Innovative
Produkte mit einem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis
sind immer dann gefragt, wenn es um Professionalität geht“, so Geschäftsführer Raimond Werdin.
Zur Security 2002 in Essen erhielt Werdin einen
ersten Eindruck von den technischen Vorteilen des
Schutzgehäuses GH-KIT von CBC. Hierbei überzeugten ihn gleich mehrere Extras:
• Das GH-KIT ist ein Set aus Gehäuse, Sonnenschutzdach, Heizung, Wandarm und Gelenkkopf.
• Das Wetterschutzgehäuse ist nach IP 67 klassifiziert und auf IP 68 erweiterbar.
• Es besitzt eine innenliegende Kabelführung und
wird bereits vorverkabelt geliefert.
• Seine unkomplizierten Schnellverschlüsse bieten eine hohe Wartungsfreundlichkeit.
Für den beauftragten Architekten war das innovative Design und die freundliche, neutrale Farbgebung
des GH-KIT ausschlaggebend.
Die Entscheidung für das GH-KIT zahlte sich
schon bei der Montage aus: Die durchdachte Konstruktion des Schutzgehäuses ersparte den Errichtern vor Ort knifflige und mühevolle Handgriffe.
ASiPlan-Geschäftsführer Werdin fühlt sich vom
außergewöhnlich guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis
des GH-KIT rundherum bestätigt. Das Unternehmen
plant inzwischen weitere Projekte dieser Art in Rio
de Janeiro, in Mexico und in Kairo.

Hardness test passed!
Since March 2003 the surveillance cameras of
the German Embassy to Brazil have been given
all-round protection against extreme weather
conditions, with twenty-eight of CBC’s outdoor
housings GH-KIT. The housings proved triumphantly effective, in spite of Brazil’s notorious
cloudbursts and heavy rain.
The security installations of the German Embassy
in Brasilia have just been modernised. The Berlin/
Brandenburg company ASiPlan GmbH is responsible for installing the video surveillance equipment.
This company has had many years of experience
with security technology, from consultancy services, by way of project planning, right through to
installation and maintenance. The CCTV sector has
achieved the strongest growth, alongside break-in
and fire warning systems, access controls and time
recording systems. “Innovative products with a
good cost-benefit ratio are always in demand when
a professional solution is sought for,” says Managing Director Raimond Werdin.
For the architect entrusted with the commission,
the innovative design and the friendly, neutral
colouring of the GH-KIT were the decisive factor.
At the Security 2002 trade fair in Essen, Werdin
was able to get an idea of the technical advantages
of CBC’s GH-KIT protective housing. It incorporated
several extra features which made an immediate
impression on him:
Deciding to go for the GH-KIT paid dividends as
early as the installation phase: the carefully thought
out construction of the protective housing meant
that the construction workers on site did not have
to execute any tricky or laborious manoeuvres.
• The GH-KIT is a set consisting of housing,
sunshield, heater, wall bracket and junction ball.
ASiPlan Managing Director Werdin feels that the
exceptionally good price-benefit ratio of the GH-KIT
proves that his decision was correct. The company
is now planning further projects of this nature in Rio
de Janeiro, Mexico and Cairo.
• The weather-proof housing is classified as IP 67,
and can be extended to conform to IP 68.

Heute hier, morgen dort
Moderne Videotechnik von CBC ermöglicht die
äußerst flexible Außenüberwachung eines Bürogebäudes der Europäischen Union in Luxemburg.
Ein späterer Umzug mit effektiven Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten ist dabei von Anfang an einkalkuliert.
Ein mobiles Bürogebäude der Europäischen Union
wird seit Mai 2003 videoüberwacht. Die Besonderheit dieser kompletten Überwachungslösung ist ihre
enorme Flexibilität. Sobald ein Umzug des Büros
notwendig wird, können die Videokameras leicht
und komfortabel am neuen Standort eingesetzt
werden. Sogar technische Erweiterungen sind mit
der jetzigen CCTV-Ausstattung und Gestaltung
problemlos möglich.
Auf die Anfrage der Europäischen Union erarbeitete
Peter Schipper, der zuständige Vertriebsleiter bei
CBC, ein schlüssiges Konzept gemeinsam mit Didier
Rotmans und Gérard Schrobiltgen von der Errichterfirma Eltrona. Eltrona genießt als größter Distributor von Kabelfernsehen in Luxemburg eine ausgezeichnete Reputation. So gelang es, wie von der
EU gefordert, Arbeiten im Gebäudeinneren während
der Installation weitestgehend zu vermeiden.
Seitdem liefern vier Tag-/Nacht-Domkameras
RAS816LS-1 Live-Bilder rund um das Gebäude.
Diese Domkameras besitzen einen großen Zoombereich und schalten bei schwächer werdendem
Licht automatisch in den Schwarzweißbetrieb. Die
Domkameras sind an allen Ecken des Gebäudes
unauffällig angebracht. Ihr Einbau in die Wetterschutzgehäuse RHODUL gewährleistet einen optimalen Schutz auch bei extremer Witterung.
Der VideoJet 400 überträgt die Kamerabilder ins Netz.

Jede Kamera speist ihre Videobilder in einen Videoserver VideoJet 400 ein, der die Videodaten an das
TCP/IP-Netzwerk überträgt. Mit Hilfe der Netzwerktechnik kann der Portier die Live-Bilder an seinem
Computer-Arbeitsplatz ansehen, mit der Software
PROVILook lokal speichern und die wendigen
Speed-Domkameras individuell ausrichten. Dabei
besticht PROVILook mit seiner übersichtlichen
Benutzeroberfläche und erlaubt eine leichte, komfortable Bedienung.
Die komplette Überwachungsanlage lässt sich bei
späterem Bedarf problemlos an jedem anderen
Standort mit Netzwerkanschluss nutzen. Da an
jeden VideoJet 400 noch drei weitere Kameras
angeschlossen werden können, ist auch eine erweiterte Ausstattung mit zusätzlichen Kameras
möglich.
Die Europäische Union als Endkunde, CBC und
Eltrona sind mit dem Endresultat sehr zufrieden.
Damit ist der Grundstein für eine weitere und erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit zwischen allen Beteiligten
gelegt.

Here today, gone tomorrow
CBC’s modern video technology facilitates an
extremely flexible form of external surveillance on
an office building in Luxembourg that belongs to the
European Union. A later move, with effective extension options, has been taken into account from the
very beginning.
A mobile office building belonging to the European
Union has been protected by video surveillance
since May 2003. The peculiar feature of this allround surveillance solution is its enormous flexibility. As soon as it becomes necessary for the office
to move, the video cameras can be installed, easily
and conveniently, at the new site. Even technological extensions can be carried out without any problem, on the basis of the present CCTV fittings and
design.
At the request of the European Union Peter Schipper,
CBC’s responsible sales representative, worked out
a convincing strategy together with Gérard Schrobiltgen and Didier Rotmans from the construction
firm Eltrona. As the biggest distributor of cable
television in Luxembourg, Eltrona enjoys an outstanding reputation. It thus proved possible, as
required by the EU, to keep work inside the building
in the course of the installation to an absolute
minimum.
Since then four RAS816LS-1 day/night dome cameras have been delivering live images taken from
all round the building. These dome cameras have a
wide zoom range, and when there is insufficient
illumination they switch automatically into black
and white. The dome cameras are mounted unobtrusively on all the corners of the building. As they
are contained in a RHODUL weather-proof housing,
optimal protection can be guaranteed even in extreme weather conditions.

The RAS816LS-1 dome cameras are efficiently installed on the corners of the building.
Each camera feeds its video images into a
VideoJet 400 video server, which then transmits
the video data to the TCP/IP network. With the help
of network technology, the janitor can see the live
images from his computerised workstation, save
them locally with the PROVILook software and
adjust the position of the flexible speed dome
cameras individually. With its user-friendly user
interface, PROVILook is an appealing tool, and it
is easy and convenient to handle.
The all-round surveillance system can easily be used
at any other site with a network connection, if the
need should subsequently arise. As three further
cameras can be connected to each VideoJet 400,
an extended configuration with additional cameras
is also a possibility.
The European Union as end customer, CBC and
Eltrona are all very well satisfied with the final
results. This lays the foundation for further successful cooperative ventures between all the parties concerned.

Offene Türen – volles Haus
CBC lud zur Hausmesse, und rund 100 Besucher
folgten dieser Einladung nach Düsseldorf. Vor einer
sommerlichen Kulisse stellte CBC neue Technologien zur Diskussion unter den Anwendern.
Im Mittelpunkt des Interesses stand das digitale
Aufzeichnen im Netzwerk. Als geradezu revolutionär bezeichneten Besucher aus den Bereichen des
Errichter- und Systemgeschäftes die scheinbar
grenzenlosen Möglichkeiten einer Netzwerkaufzeichnung. „VIDOS macht es möglich“, da sind
sich alle Fachberater aus der CCTV-Abteilung von
CBC einig. Die Videobilder aller Kameras eines
Netzwerkes werden bequem an diversen Arbeitsplätzen eingesehen, kontrolliert und zentral im
Netzwerk oder lokal aufgezeichnet.
Die IP-Kamera ZC-XY30 begeisterte durch ihren
einfachen Einbau in CCTV-Systeme. Die über das
Netzwerkkabel eingehenden Steuerbefehle sendet
die IP-Kamera direkt weiter an den Schwenk-/
Neigekopf. Das ermöglicht die volle Beweglichkeit
der Kamera ohne jegliche Matrix.
Die Besucher der Hausmesse informierten sich
ausführlich über die zahlreichen innovativen
Kameras von CBC. Der Hersteller präsentierte vorrangig Modelle mit
Tag-/Nachttechnologie, die neue
Generation der IP-Kameras und die
SPOT-CAM mit ihrem auffallend
modernen Design. Sie ergänzt die
Palette der BGV-Kameras (früher
UVV), ebenso wie zahlreiche Modelle
der kompakten Domkameras.
„In einer Zeit, in der Design-Ansprüche und Ästhetik auf dem Stundenplan eines jeden Produktentwicklers gehören, ist uns mit der Serie SPOT-CAM
ein super Schuss gelungen“, so Pierre Bové, zuständig für den Kundensupport im internen Verkauf
bei CBC. Verena Müller und er stellen das Herzstück des internen Vertriebes und Marketings dar.
Beide stehen CBC-Kunden stets mit schneller Hilfe
und kompetenten Geschäftsideen zur Seite.

Abgerundet wurde das Team durch die Mitarbeiter
aus dem Außendienst. Frank Lehmann (West) und
Thoralf Brandt (Nord/West) standen den Kunden
mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Heiß umringt waren die
Systemberater. Aber auch sie nahmen sich reichlich Zeit, um in individuellen Beratungen und aufgelockerten Gesprächen die Kommunikation zum
Kunden sicherzustellen. Peter Schipper (BeNeLux)
hatte die gesamttechnische Leitung und koordinierte dank seiner mehrjährigen praktischen Erfahrung
im Hause CBC das Geschehen souverän.
„Alles in allem sind wir vollkommen begeistert von
der Resonanz und dem Zuspruch zu unserer Veranstaltung im Hause CBC. Es ist schön zu sehen,
welch enorme Synergien sich bilden, wenn Experten, Anwender und gute Geschäftsleute zu einem
netten Treffen zusammenkommen und dabei ernsthafte Geschäftsideen entwickeln, diskutieren und
anschließend umsetzen. Sicher war das nicht die
letzte Veranstaltung dieser Art“, fasst Gesamtvertriebsleiter Gregor Schnitzler zusammen.

Open doors – full house
CBC sent out invitations to a house fair, and some
100 visitors accepted the invitation to Düsseldorf.
Against a summer background, CBC presented new
technological solutions for discussion by the users.
The main focus of interest was on network-based
digital recording. Visitors with a background in construction and system engineering were impressed by
the seemingly limitless possibilities of network recording, describing them as positively revolutionary. “VIDOS
makes it possible” – all CBC’s expert advisers in the
CCTV division are unanimous on this point. The video
images of all the cameras on a network can be conveniently inspected from various workstations, monitored and recorded, either centrally on the network or
on a local computer.
The IP camera ZC-XY30 made a favourable impression, in view of the ease with which it can be incorporated in CCTV systems. Control commands are transmitted by way of the network cable, and are then
directly forwarded by the IP camera to the pan tilt head.
This makes it possible to adjust the position of the
camera in any direction, without any need for a matrix.
Visitors to the house fair were able to inform themselves
thoroughly about the numerous innovative cameras
from CBC. The manufacturer put special emphasis on the
presentation of models with day/night technology, the
new generation of IP cameras and the SPOT-CAM with
its strikingly modern design. It supplements the series
of BGV cameras (earlier known as UVV), together with
numerous models of the compact dome camera.
“At a time when design aspirations and aesthetic
considerations are a necessary agenda item for any
product developer, we have achieved a superhit with
the SPOT-CAM series,” says Pierre Bové, responsible
for customer support in CBC’s internal sales department. Verena Müller and Mr Bové together represent
the core of the internal distribution and marketing
division. Both are constantly available to CBC’s
customers, to offer prompt help and effective business conceptions.
Besonders beeindruckend für viele Besucher war die
riesige Auswahl an Vario- und Zoom-Objektiven des
Herstellers.
Many visitors were particularly impressed by the
massive selection of varifocal and zoom lenses offered
by the manufacturer.
Field service employees complete the team. Frank
Lehmann (West) and Thoralf Brandt (North/West) gave
customers practical help and advice. The system
consultants were in great demand. But they too gave
themselves enough time to ensure that they were able
to communicate effectively with the customer, both in
individual consultation sessions and in informal discussion. Peter Schipper (BeNeLux) took the overall
technical direction, who thanks to his many years of
practical experience with CBC orchestrated the event
with supreme confidence.
“All in all we are completely enthusiastic about the
favourable response to this function based at CBC. It is
good to see what enormous synergies develop when
experts, users and talented businessmen meet up in a
pleasant get-together where they can develop serious
business conceptions, discuss them and finally put
them into practice. Certainly this will not prove the last
function of this kind,” said Gregor Schnitzler, head of
General Marketing, summarising his impressions.

GANZ Minikameras im Domgehäuse
Die neuen Minikameras im Domgehäuse sind als
Farb- und Schwarzweißmodell erhältlich, jeweils mit
integriertem Vario-Objektiv 2,6 ... 6,0 mm. Damit
öffnet sich für die lichtempfindlichen Kameras ein
breites Einsatzspektrum.
Per DIP-Schalter lässt sich die automatische Blendenregelung über den Spannungspegel aktivieren.
Im Ergebnis passt sich die Blende automatisch an
die einfallende Helligkeit an. Weitere DIP-Schalter
aktivieren die Gegenlichtkompensation und die
automatische Verstärkungsregelung. Die Flimmerreduktion minimiert Bildstörungen durch Leuchtstofflampen. Mit diesen Zusatzfunktionen liefern die
Minikameras optimal belichtete Videobilder auch
von besonders anspruchsvollen Einsatzorten.
Die äußerst beweglichen Minikameras lassen sich
gleichzeitig um drei Achsen bewegen. Großzügige
Spielräume beim Schwenken, Neigen und Drehen
erlauben eine schnelle Ausrichtung. Hierbei garantiert die dritte Bewegungsachse, dass auch bei
Wandmontage jedes Videobild den Horizont in
seiner natürlichen Lage wiedergibt.
Das Videokabel ist im Lieferumfang bereits enthalten. Eine verdeckte Kabelführung bietet sich an.
GANZ mini cameras in dome housing
The new mini cameras in dome housing are available either in colour or as a black-and-white model,
in either case with an integrated varifocal lens (2.6
to 6.0 mm). This means that a wide range of uses
can be envisaged for the light-sensitive camera.
DIP switches make it possible for the automatic
auto iris control to be activated by means of the
level of the voltage. As a result the iris automatically adapts to the brightness of the light reaching it.
Further DIP switches activate the backlight compensation and the automatic gain control. Flicker
reduction minimizes interference due to neon light.
These additional functions enable the mini cameras
to deliver optimally exposed video images, even
from particularly demanding installation positions.
The exceptionally mobile mini cameras can be
moved simultaneously in three axes. The spacious
angle of view for panning, tilting and turning enables quick alignment. Here the third axis of motion
guarantees that even when the camera is mounted
on the wall every video image will reproduce the
horizon in its natural position.
The video cable is already included as part of the
standard delivery. Concealed wiring makes sense.

der Serie SPOT-CAM entwickelte
Wandarm ZCA-LB101 ist ab sofort
lieferbar. Er ermöglicht eine verdeckte
Kabelführung für alle Modelle mit
Niederspannung (12 VDC/24 VAC).
Für die längeren 230-V-Modelle bietet
sich der robuste Wandarm BCV140
aus dem CBC-Lieferprogramm an.
As of now, the ZCA-LB101 wall bracket, specially developed for the SPOT-CAM
series of compact cameras, is available to order. This facilitates concealed
wiring for all low voltage models (12 VDC/24 VAC). For the longer 230V models,
the robust BCV140 wall bracket, from the CBC product range, is recommended.

Netzwerk-Video-Server
Die optimale Verknüpfung zwischen hochentwickelter Kameratechnik und Videoübertragung in Netzwerken bietet der neue VideoJet 10 der Nürnberger
VCS AG.
Mit CBC und VCS befinden sich zwei Markführer in
einer strategischen Allianz, aus der inzwischen
zahlreiche gemeinsame Entwicklungsprojekte
hervorgegangen sind. Das weltweite Know-how auf

Many years of experience in the field of lens development have made it possible: CBC now combines
the best quality of image with the advantages of
flexible varifocal lenses. So two new models of
great light transmitting capacity now offer a recognisably improved quality of image, also when combined with 1/3" cameras.
Whereas traditional varifocal lenses lose up to 45 %
of their light output, the H3Z1014 guarantees a constant F-stop of 1.3 for the entire focal length from
10 to 30 mm. The aspherical H3Z4512 ensures an
ideal brilliancy of image with outstanding quality of
reproduction and its enormous F-stop of 1.2.

Kaum begeistert der CDR-01 als erster 1-KanalDigitalrecorder von CBC seine Anwender, ist bereits
sein „größerer Bruder“ ZR-DH111NP am Start. Denn
neben dem erfolgreichen Basismodell wurde bald ein
weiterer Digitalrecorder für gehobene Ansprüche gewünscht. So besticht der neue 1-Kanal-Digitalrecorder
mit einem großen Leistungsumfang, der eine vielseitige Nutzbarkeit verspricht.
Users have hardly had time to respond enthusiastically
to the CDR-01, CBC’s first one channel digital recorder; and now its “big brother” the ZR-DH111NP is ready
to go. Alongside the successful basic model, the wish
was expressed for a further digital recorder designed
to handle enhanced requirements. So the new one
channel digital recorder appeals in view of its powerful
performance range, offering many-sided possibilities
of use.

For example, individual images or image sequences
from the hard disc can be saved on a CompactFlashTM
card. Relocation of the video data to an external carrier
is made possible by an application independent of the
site of the equipment. All data will be labelled with a
watermark, thus fulfilling a condition that makes it
possible for them to be used as evidence in court.

The new ZR-DH111NP can be used in conjunction
with all multiplexers currently on the market without
any problem at all. In addition it has an Ethernet interface, which facilitates its being linked into TCP/IP
networks. Its integrated multiplexer software here
makes it possible to use the signals of designated
multiplexers on the network for the simultaneous
display and recording of multiple images. Thus the
model functions “on the side” as an interface between
CBC’s multiplexers and the network facilities.
Doch nicht nur technologisch übertrifft der neue Digitalrecorder jeden analogen Langzeitrecorder. Lieferstandard des vorkonfektionierten ZR-DH111NP ist eine
IDE-Festplatte, die ein Speichervolumen von 120 GB

But it is not just in technological terms that the new
digital recorder outperforms any analogous long-term
recorder. Part of the standard delivery of the preassembled ZR-DH111NP is an IDE hard disc with a memory
volume of 120 GB. The changing frame increases the
flexibility within larger applications, facilitating for
example the evaluation of images recorded by several
different devices.

Carmen Flöhr ist seit Oktober 2002 bei
CBC. Die 28-jährige Exportsachbearbeiterin ist ausgebildete Speditionskauffrau. Bei CBC organisiert sie den
Produkteinkauf und ist damit Kontaktperson zwischen Hersteller und Errichtern.
Überaus zufriedene Kunden schätzen ihre große Einsatzbereitschaft. Für Vorschläge, die über das OrderProcessing hinausgehen, hat die freundliche Mitarbeiterin immer ein offenes Ohr und reicht sie direkt an die
Geschäftsführung weiter.
Vielleicht wird sie eines Tages sogar italienische Kunden in deren Muttersprache telefonisch beraten –
jedenfalls lernt sie schonmal regelmäßig. Den körperlichen Ausgleich schafft sich die Duisburgerin beim
Choreografietanz.
Mit Katrin van der Logt kam einen Monat nach
Carmen Flöhr eine weitere Speditionskauffrau zum
CBC-Team. In einer Spediteursfamilie groß geworden,
reizen sie besonders die herausfordernden Aufgaben
von Logistik, Zolldokumentation und Versand ins
europäische Ausland. Die reichen von der telefonischen
Kundenberatung bei Eilsendungen über Verhandlungen
mit Spediteuren bis zur persönlichen Kontrolle aller
Transporte aus dem Zoll- und Freigutlager.
Aus eigenem Interesse hält sich die Speditionskauffrau
mit Wirtschaftsenglisch und Spanisch auf dem Laufenden. Denn einen wesentlichen Teil ihrer Arbeitszeit
beanspruchen Zollformalitäten. Dazu ist nicht selten
ein dickes Fell nötig, um jede länderspezifische Anweisung umzusetzen und zwischen dem Termindruck der
Speditionen und dem Arbeitstempo der Zollbeamten zu
vermitteln. „In der Ruhe liegt die Kraft“, dieses Motto
gilt für die hilfsbereite Rheinländerin ganz besonders.
Die agile 28-Jährige schöpft die nötige Ruhe aus ihren
wöchentlichen Trainingseinheiten in Taekwondo oder
Aerobic.
Die neuen Mitarbeiterinnen sind sich einig: Das lockere, freundschaftliche Arbeitsklima im Düsseldorfer
Team begeisterte beide vom ersten Tag an.

The 28-year-old export officer is a qualified forwarding merchant. At CBC she organises the purchase of
products, and is therefore the contact person between
the manufacturer and the installer. Our highly satisfied customers value her enormous commitment. Our
friendly staff member always has an open ear for
suggestions put out by way of Order Processing, and
passes them on directly to corporate management.
Perhaps one day she will even be able to advise Italian
customers on the phone in their mother tongue – at
any rate, she is already studying the language on a
regular basis. Coming from Duisburg, she keeps fit by
taking time out for her choreographic dance studies.

One month after Carmen Flöhr, Katrin van der Logt
joined the CBC team as another forwarding merchant.
Having grown up in a family of freight carriers, she
takes particular pleasure in the challenging tasks of
logistics, customs documentation and dispatch of goods
to other European countries. These range from advising customers on the phone in case of express delivery,
by way of negotiations with freight carriers, right
through to the personal checking of all shipments from
the customs and duty-free goods warehouses.
Out of personal interest the forwarding merchant
keeps herself up to the mark in business English and
Spanish. This is because a considerable part of her
working time is taken up with customs formalities.
Here a thick skin is often needed, in order to carry out
all the country-specific instructions and mediate
between the timetable pressures of the shipments on
the one hand, and the working tempo of the customs
officials on the other. “Power lies in tranquillity” –
this motto has a quite special application for this
helpful native of the Rhineland. The fit 28-year-old
gets the tranquillity she needs from her weekly training
sessions in Taekwondo or aerobics.
Both new employees are agreed on one point: the
relaxed and friendly working atmosphere of the Düsseldorf team appealed to them right from the first day.

some tips on the strength of illumination that is
required. The fundamental principle is that an object
can only reflect back the light rays that it receives.
This must also be taken into account with reference to the spectral composition of the light, as
this has a direct effect on the colour of objects.
