Einführung
1.1 Produktbeschreibung
Mit dem Weinmann Update Tool können Sie die Firmware von
Weinmann-Therapiegeräten aktualisieren.
Das Weinmann Update Tool besteht aus folgenden Komponenten:

Konverterkabel USB-RS485 (WM 93318)
•
Verbindungsleitung Vollduplex (WM 93308) (VentilogicLS/Plus)
•
Anschlussleitung (WM 93319) (Ventimotion 2)
•
CD mit Weinmann Update Tool
Die aktuelle Firmware für das Therapiegerät finden Sie unter
www.weinmann.de im Login-Bereich zum Download.

Das Aktualisieren des Therapiegerätes während der Therapie kann
den Patienten gefährden.
⇒ Weinmann Update Tool niemals benutzen, wenn ein Patient an
das Therapiegerät angeschlossen ist.

Installation
1. CD in den PC einlegen.

2. Die Datei WeinmannUpdateSetup.exe ausführen.
Der Installationsassistent wird gestartet.
3. Schaltfläche Weiter anklicken.

4. Auswählen, ob ein Icon für das Programm im Startmenü und
auf dem Desktop erscheinen soll.
6. Wenn notwendig: Zielverzeichnis auswählen, in dem das
Weinmann Update Tool gespeichert werden soll.

5. Schaltfläche Weiter anklicken.

7. Schaltfläche Installieren anklicken.
Es öffnet sich ein Dialog zur Installation des Treibers des
Konverterkabels USB-RS485.
8. Schaltfläche Install anklicken, um den Treiber zu installieren.
Der Installationsassistent sucht die passenden Dateien. Je nach
PC kann dieser Vorgang etwas dauern.

9. Wenn die Meldung Softwareinstallation erscheint:
Schaltfläche Installation fortsetzen anklicken.
Diese Meldung erscheint in Ausnahmefällen. Die Ursache dafür
liegt in Ihrem Betriebssystem. Sie können die Installation
bedenkenlos fortsetzen.
10. Abschluss der Treiberinstallation mit OK bestätigen.
Es öffnet sich der Installationsassistent von JavaTM.

Installieren anklicken.

4.1 Therapiegerät mit dem PC verbinden

1. Therapiegerät mit der Verbindungsleitung Vollduplex
(WM 93308 / VentilogicLS/Plus) / Anschlussleitung
(WM 93319 / Ventimotion 2) 1 verbinden.
2. Verbindungsleitung Vollduplex (WM 93308 / VentilogicLS/Plus)
/ Anschlussleitung (WM 93319 / Ventimotion 2) 1 mit dem
Konverterkabel USB-RS485 2 verbinden.
3. Konverterkabel USB-RS485 2 mit einem freien USB-Anschluss
am PC verbinden.

4. Therapiegerät an eine Netzsteckdose anschließen.
Das Therapiegerät schaltet in den Standby. Das WeinmannLogo erscheint im Display.
Ergebnis
Therapiegerät und PC sind verbunden.

4.2 Firmware des Therapiegerätes
aktualisieren
Verletzungsgefahr durch Aktualisieren des Therapiegerätes
während der Therapie!
Das Aktualisieren des Therapiegerätes während der Therapie kann
den Patienten gefährden.
⇒ Weinmann Update Tool niemals benutzen, wenn ein Patient an
das Therapiegerät angeschlossen ist.
Sachschaden durch Trennen der Verbindungen!
Das Trennen der Verbindung zwischen Stromnetz, Therapiegerät
und PC während der Aktualisierung kann das Therapiegerät
beschädigen.
⇒ Verbindung zwischen Therapiegerät und PC nicht trennen.
⇒ Therapiegerät nicht vom Stromnetz trennen.
Voraussetzung
Therapiegerät ist mit dem PC verbunden (siehe „4.1 Therapiegerät
mit dem PC verbinden“, Seite 9).
1. Weinmann Update Tool starten.
2. Nur bei der ersten Durchführung: Schnittstelle zum PC wählen
(siehe „4.3 Schnittstelle am PC auswählen“, Seite 12).
3. Schaltfläche Datei öffnen anklicken.
4. Update-Datei auswählen.
5. Schaltfläche Update starten anklicken.
In dem folgenden Dialog können Sie wählen, ob Sie die
Therapieparameter und Patientendaten auf die neue Version
übertragen möchten oder ob das Gerät in den
Auslieferungszustand versetzt werden soll.

Die Update-Datei für das Therapiegerät finden Sie unter
www.weinmann.de im Login-Bereich zum Download. Die
Update-Datei ist immer mit dem Namen des Therapiegerätes und
der jeweiligen Firmware-Version benannt. Die Update-Datei hat
die Dateiendung .wmu.

6. Schaltfläche Ja oder Nein anklicken, je nachdem, ob die Sie die
Therapieparameter und Patientendaten behalten möchten
oder nicht.
Der Update-Vorgang wird gestartet.

Während der Aktualisierung werden auf dem Display des
Therapiegerätes Fehlermeldungen und akustische Signale
ausgegeben. Dies ist Teil der Aktualisierung und keine
Fehlfunktion des Therapiegerätes.
Wenn die Aktualisierung beendet ist, wird die Meldung
Update erfolgreich angezeigt.
7. Am Therapiegerät prüfen, ob die aktuelle Firmware-Version
angezeigt wird.

8. Wenn die Aktualisierung nicht abgeschlossen werden konnte,
zeigt das Programm eine Fehlermeldung an. Beachten Sie in
diesem Fall die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.
Ergebnis
Die Aktualisierung ist abgeschlossen. Das Therapiegerät hat die
aktuelle Firmware-Version.
4.3 Schnittstelle am PC auswählen
Bei der ersten Benutzung des Weinmann Update Tools kann es
notwendig sein, die Schnittstelle am PC auszuwählen.
1. Im Menü Schnittstellen die verwendete Schnittstelle
anklicken.

Wenn Sie nicht sicher sind, welche Schnittstelle Sie benutzen:
Automatische Suche anklicken. Dabei beachten: Es muss ein
Therapiegerät mit dem PC verbunden sein (siehe „4.1

Ergebnis
Das Programm wählt die Schnittstelle, über die das Therapiegerät
mit dem PC verbunden ist.

4 Bedienung
Sie brauchen das Therapiegerät nicht zu identifizieren, um ein

4.5 Sprache ändern
Sie können zwischen den Sprachen Deutsch, Englisch und
Französisch wählen. Bei der Installation wird die Sprache des
Betriebssystems gewählt.
1. Gewünschte Sprache im Menü Sprachen auswählen.
2. Meldung mit OK bestätigen.
3. Weinmann Update Tool neu starten.
Die Sprache ist geändert.

Introduction
1.1 Product description
The Weinmann Update Tool enables you to update the firmware
of Weinmann therapy devices.
The Weinmann Update Tool consists of the following components:

USB-RS485 converter cable (WM 93318)
•
Full duplex connection lead (WM 93308) (VentilogicLS/Plus)
•
Connecting cable (WM 93319) (Ventimotion 2)
•
CD with Weinmann Update Tool
The latest firmware for the therapy device can be downloaded

save the Weinmann Update Tool.

A dialog box for installing the USB-RS485 converter cable driver
pops up.
8. Click the Install button to install the driver.
The installation wizard searches for the relevant files.
Depending on the PC, this can take some time.
This message only appears in exceptional cases. This is due to your
operating system. You can continue the installation without
reservation.
10. Click OK to acknowledge that the driver has been installed.
The JavaTM installation wizard opens.

9. If the message Software installation appears: Click the
Continue Anyway button.

4.1 Connect the therapy device to the PC

1. Connect the therapy device to the full duplex connection lead
(WM 93308 / VentilogicLS/Plus) / connecting cable
(WM 93319 / Ventimotion 2) 1.
2. Connect the full duplex connection lead (WM 93308 /
VentilogicLS/Plus) / connecting cable (WM 93319 /
Ventimotion 2) 1 to the USB-RS485 converter cable 2.
3. Connect the USB-RS485 converter cable 2 to a free USB port
on the PC.
4. Plug the therapy device into a power outlet.
The therapy device switches to standby mode. The Weinmann
logo appears on the display.
Result
The therapy device and PC are connected.
Danger of injury through updating the therapy device during
therapy.
Updating the therapy device during therapy can put the patient at
risk.
⇒ Never use the Weinmann Update Tool when a patient is
connected to the therapy device.

4.2 Update the therapy device firmware
4 Operation
Material damage caused by disconnecting the connections.
Disconnecting the power supply, therapy device and the PC during
the update process can damage the therapy device.
⇒ Do not disconnect the therapy device from the PC.
⇒ Do not disconnect the therapy device from the power supply.
Requirement
The therapy device is connected to the PC (see "4.1 Connect the
therapy device to the PC", page 20).
1. Start the Weinmann Update Tool.
2. First time only: choose the PC interface (see "4.3 Choose the
interface on the PC", page 23).
3. Click the Open file button.
4. Select the update file.
The update file for the therapy device can be downloaded from
the login area at www.weinmann.de. The name of the update file
is always the name of the therapy device plus the relevant
firmware version. The update file extension is .wmu.

5. Click the Start update button.
In the following dialog box, you can choose to transfer the
therapy parameter(s) and patient data to the new version or to
reset the device to its factory settings.

6. Click the Yes or No button depending on whether you want
to retain the therapy parameter(s) and patient data.
The update process is started.
When the device has been updated, the message Update
completed is displayed.
7. Check that the current firmware version is displayed on the
therapy device.

Error messages and acoustic signals are output on the display of
the therapy device during the update process. This is part of the
update process and does not indicate a malfunction of the therapy
device.

8. If the update process could not be completed, the program
displays an error message. In this case, please follow the
instructions on the screen.
Result
The device has been updated. The therapy device has the current
firmware version.
4.3 Choose the interface on the PC
When the Weinmann Update Tool is being used for the first time,
you may need to choose the interface on the PC.
1. In the Interfaces menu, click the interface used.

If you are not sure which interface to use: Click Automatic
search. Remember that a therapy device must be connected to
the PC (see "4.1 Connect the therapy device to the PC", page
20).
Result
The program chooses the interface connecting the therapy device
to the PC.

You can find out which software version is currently loaded on
your therapy device by identifying the device.

The device type and the current version of the therapy device are
displayed.

You do not need to identify the therapy device in order to perform
an update. The program automatically recognizes the device type
and the version during the update process.
4.5 Change language
You can choose between English, French and German. The
language of the operating system is selected during the installation
process.
1. Select the language you want in the Languages menu.
2. Click OK to acknowledge the message.
3. Restart the Weinmann Update Tool.
The language is changed.

Le Weinmann Update Tool vous permet de mettre à jour le
Firmware des appareils de thérapie Weinmann.
Le Weinmann Update Tool se compose des éléments suivants :

1. Insérer le CD dans l'ordinateur.

2. Exécuter le fichier WeinmannUpdateSetup.exe.
L'assistant d'installation démarre.
3. Cliquer sur le bouton Suivant.

4. Sélectionner si une icône pour le programme doit être présente
dans le menu Démarrer et sur le bureau.
6. Le cas échéant : sélectionner le répertoire cible dans lequel le
Weinmann Update Tool doit être enregistré.

5. Cliquer sur le bouton Suivant.

Une boîte de dialogue d'installation du pilote du câble du
convertisseur USB-RS485 s'ouvre.
8. Cliquer sur le bouton Install (Installer) afin d'installer le pilote.
L'assistant d'installation recherche les fichiers correspondants.
Selon l'ordinateur, ce processus peut durer quelques instants.

9. Lorsque le message Installation logicielle s'affiche : cliquer
sur le bouton Continuer.
Ce message s'affiche dans des cas exceptionnels. Votre système
d'exploitation en est la cause. Vous pourrez poursuivre sans soucis
l'installation.
10. Confirmer la fin de l'installation du pilote par OK.
L'assistant d'installation de JavaTM s'ouvre.

11. Si JavaTM n'est pas encore installé sur votre ordinateur : cliquer
sur le bouton Installer.
JavaTM est installé.
13. Cliquer sur le bouton Fermer afin de terminer l'installation.

12. A l'issue de l'installation : cliquer sur le bouton Fermer.
L'assistant d'installation effectue l'installation.

4.1 Connexion de l'appareil de thérapie
et de l'ordinateur

1. Connecter l'appareil de thérapie au câble de données en
duplex intégral (WM 93308 / VentilogicLS/Plus) / câble de
raccordement (WM 93319 / Ventimotion 2) 1.
2. Connecter le câble de connexion en duplex intégral
(WM 93308 / VentilogicLS/Plus) / câble de raccordement
(WM 93319 / Ventimotion 2) 1 avec le câble du convertisseur
USB-RS485 2.
3. Connecter le câble du convertisseur USB-RS485 2 à un port
USB libre sur l'ordinateur.

4. Connecter l'appareil de thérapie à une prise de courant.
L’appareil de thérapie passe en mode veille. Le logo Weinmann
s'affiche à l'écran.
Résultat
L'appareil de thérapie et l'ordinateur sont connectés.

4 Utilisation
4.2 Mise à jour du Firmware de l'appareil
de thérapie
Risque de blessure si la mise à jour de l'appareil de thérapie
est réalisée pendant la thérapie !
La mise à jour de l'appareil de thérapie pendant cette dernière
peut mettre en danger le patient.
⇒ Ne jamais utiliser le Weinmann Update Tool lorsqu'un patient
est raccordé à l'appareil de thérapie.
Dommages matériels en débranchant les connexions !
La coupure de la connexion entre le secteur, l'appareil de thérapie
et l'ordinateur pendant la mise à jour peut endommager l'appareil
de thérapie.
⇒ Ne pas débrancher la connexion entre l'appareil de thérapie et
l'ordinateur.
⇒ Ne pas débrancher l’appareil de thérapie du secteur.
Condition préalable
L'appareil de thérapie est connecté à l'ordinateur (voir "4.1
Connexion de l'appareil de thérapie et de l'ordinateur", page 31).
1. Démarrer le Weinmann Update Tool.
2. Uniquement lors de la première réalisation : sélectionner le port
de l'ordinateur (voir "4.3 Sélection du port sur l'ordinateur",
page 34).
3. Cliquer sur le bouton Ouvrir le fichier.
Le fichier de mise à jour pour l'appareil de thérapie peut être
téléchargé sous www.weinmann.de dans la rubrique Login. Le
fichier de mise à jour est toujours dénommé selon le nom de
l'appareil de thérapie et la version du Firmware correspondant.
L'extension du fichier de mise à jour est .wmu.

4. Sélectionner le fichier de mise à jour.

5. Cliquer sur le bouton Démarrer la mise à jour.
La boîte de dialogue suivante vous permet de choisir si les
paramètres de thérapie et les données des patients doivent être
transférés sur la nouvelle version ou si l'appareil doit retrouver
son état d'origine.
6. Cliquer sur le bouton Oui ou Non selon que vous souhaitiez
conserver ou non les paramètres de thérapie et les données des
patients.
La mise à jour démarre.

Pendant la mise à jour, l'appareil de thérapie émet des messages
d'erreur et des signaux sonores. Ceci fait partie de la mise à jour
et n'indique aucun dysfonctionnement de l'appareil de thérapie.

Lorsque la mise à jour est terminée, le message Mise à jour
réussie s'affiche.
7. Contrôler sur l'appareil de thérapie si la version actuelle du
Firmware s'affiche.
8. Si la mise à jour n'a pas pu être terminée, le programme
indique un message d'erreur. Respecter dans ce cas les
instructions à l'écran.
Résultat
La mise à jour est terminée. L'appareil de thérapie possède la
version Firmware actuelle.
4.3 Sélection du port sur l'ordinateur
Lors de la première utilisation du Weinmann Update Tool, il peut
être nécessaire de sélectionner le port sur l'ordinateur.
1. Dans le menu Interfaces, cliquer sur le port utilisé.
ou
Lorsque vous n'êtes pas sûr du port que vous utilisez : cliquer
sur Recherche automatique. Faire attention aux points
suivants : Un appareil de thérapie doit être connecté à
l'ordinateur (voir "4.1 Connexion de l'appareil de thérapie et
de l'ordinateur", page 31).
Résultat
Le programme sélectionne le port via lequel l'appareil de thérapie
est connecté à l'ordinateur.
Lorsque vous souhaitez savoir la version du logiciel actuellement
installée sur votre appareil de thérapie, vous pouvez identifier
l'appareil.

4 Utilisation
1. Cliquer sur le bouton Identifier l'appareil.
Résultat
Le type d'appareil et la version actuelle de l'appareil de thérapie
sont affichés.
Vous n'avez pas besoin d'identifier l'appareil de thérapue afin

Vous pouvez choisir entre les langues allemand, anglais et français.
Lors de l'installation, la langue du système d'exploitation est
sélectionnée.
1. Sélectionner la langue souhaitée dans le menu Langues.
2. Valider le message par OK.
