Seit der letzten Ausgabe hat sich wieder
so manches getan. Teils handelt es sich
um grundlegend Neues wie den inzwischen angelaufenen Neubau einer
Produktionshalle an unserem zukünftigen
Firmenstandort 2 in Weeze, an der Industriestraße im Gewerbegebiet „Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd“. Mehr Kapazität, mehr
Produktivität und geringere Durchlaufzeiten – die neue Halle bringt eine Summe
von Vorteilen, von denen vor allem auch
unsere Kunden profitieren.
Sie finden in dieser Ausgabe wieder

A lot has happened since our last edition
was published. To begin with we will
report on the work in progress for the
construction of our future production hall
at the second company site in Weeze,
located on the Industriestraße in the
industrial trading estate “Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd”. Increased production capacity, improved productivity and shorter
throughput times – This new hall offers
numerous advantages, the benefits of
which will be felt and appreciated by our
customers in particular.
Furthermore, this new edition includes
interesting product news concerning
elements such as the propane gas pallet
and the CNG containers, specific service
packages such as the special compressed
gas cylinder test in compliance with
national (D, F, NL, BE) directives, as well
as some nice “sideline” stories about life
in and around Wystrach focussing on our
employees whether discussing professional jubilee years or noteworthy sporting
achievements of the company’s team.
We are sure you will find something
of interest in this latest edition of the

Am 21. August veranstaltete die Wystrach
GmbH erstmalig ein Betriebsfest auf dem
neuen Firmengelände an der Industriestraße 60 in Weeze. Der Wettergott spielte
gut mit und so konnte die Wystrach-Mannschaft „open air“ schon einmal in lockerer

Weeze. The weather gods played along
and allowed the Wystrach team to host
this “open air” event and get to know their
future site and workplace under friendly
conditions. This new environment made
a positive impression and was explored
in good spirit followed by an enjoyable
barbeque and beer get together. A lot of
fun and excitement was had at the goal
shooting stand and the nail hammering
beams, at both of which participation
was high.

Bei bester Laune wurde die neue Umgebung mit positiven Vorfühleindrücken
erkundet und das sommerfestliche Grillund Getränkeangebot freudig genossen.

auf bei den Wettbewerben im Torwandschießen und am Nagelbalken, die sich
hoher Beteiligung erfreuten.

throw a party. Five Wystrach employees
were celebrating their long-service jubilee
for which they were presented with a
certificate. As an additional gesture of
recognition, the company management
presented each of the persons celebrating
their jubilee a food hamper packed with
delicious products.

Einen besonderen Grund zum Feiern und
Gratulieren gab es auch. Fünf WystrachMitarbeiter wurden für ihr diesjähriges
Dienstjubiläum mit einer Urkunde geehrt.
Als weitere Geste der Anerkennung überreichte die Geschäftsführung jedem Jubilar
einen Präsentkorb mit allerlei Gaumenfreuden.

Die Fünf von Wystrach beim 25.
Weezer Staffellauf
Am Samstag, dem 18. September 2010,
war es wieder so weit: Der TSV Weeze
lud zum 25. Weezer 5x5 km-Staffellauf –
ein sportliches Ereignis, das in Weeze
inzwischen bereits eine lange und beliebte
Tradition hat. Eingeteilt in acht Kategorien gingen in diesem Jahr insgesamt
275 Mannschaften am August-JanssenSportzentrum an den Start. Entsprechend
freute sich die Leichtathletikabteilung des
TSV Weeze als Ausrichter über die hervorragende Resonanz.
Erfolgreich und flink mit von der Langstrecken-Partie war das Fünfer-Team von
Wystrach mit Jan Scholten, Wolfgang
Wolter, Dominik Esmer, Stephan Gipmans
und Kevin Sonderkamp, die in der
Hallenneubau

„Jedermannklasse“ mit einer Gesamtzeit
von 2:04:29 Std. den 64. Platz errangen –
herzlichen Glückwunsch und Hut ab vor
diesem Lauffleiß!
Schon im Vorfeld wurde die Wystrach-Fünf
belohnt und erhielt als Team, das sich
als erstes für den Staffellauf angemeldet
hatte, einen Eisgutschein als Dankeschön.

The Wystrach five at the 25th
Weezer relay
Saturday, September 18th, 2010 was the
big day: The Weeze TSV hosted the 25th
Weezer 5x5km relay – a sporting event
which has already acquired a long and
well appreciated tradition. Split into 8
categories this year, a total of 275 teams
lined up at the start in the August-Janssen
sport stadium in Weeze. The athletics
section of the Weeze TSV, as organiser,
was naturally extremely pleased with this
excellent turnout.
The Wystrach five-man team composed of
Jan Scholten, Wolfgang Wolter, Dominik
Esmer, Stephan Gipmans and Kevin
Sonderkamp quickly and successfully got
into the race and achieved a global time of
2:04:29 hours and 64th place – Congratulations to all of you and well done!
Before the race even started the Wystrach
five were rewarded with an ice cream
voucher by way of thanks for being the
first team to register for the race.
Both young and old, participants and
spectators, the Weeze relay is highly
appreciated by one and all for its fine
combination of sport, fun, amusement,
good spirit and welcome.

Nunmehr steht eine räumliche Expansion
bevor. Ganz in der Nähe, ebenfalls in
Weeze, wird eine neue Produktionshalle
errichtet. Dieser zweite Wystrach-Standort
liegt an der Industriestraße im Gewerbegebiet „Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd“.
„Wir sind gerne in Weeze und zuhause
hier“, betont Jochen Wystrach, neben
Wolfgang Wolter und Bernd Valks einer
der drei Geschäftsführer, die heimatliche Verbundenheit mit dem Standort.
„Wir sind Teil der Region und die Region
ist Teil von uns. Von daher war es für
uns auch nicht interessant, in die Ferne
zu schweifen, als es um die Wahl des
Standortes für unser neues Logistiklager
und eine neue Produktionshalle ging, mit
deren Bau wir in diesem Jahr begonnen
haben.“
Nach schneller, erfolgreicher Beantragung
der Bebauungsgenehmigung hat der 1.
Bauabschnitt nunmehr bereits begonnen.
Für eine noch effizientere Logistik entsteht
auf 2000 qm ein modernes Hochregal mit
2000 Stellplätzen.
Daneben ist eine
Produktionshalle
mit integrierten

gut wie fertig und
wird voraussichtlich
ab Mitte November
2010 in Betrieb

aus dem Kreis
Kleve beauftragt“,
erläutert Jochen
Wystrach. „Bei der
Sondierung und
Vergabe ging es uns
insbesondere darum, ein Architekturbüro
zu finden, das uns bereits in der Planungsphase kompetent unterstützt, um das Ziel
‚Optimierung des Produktionsprozesses’
am neuen Standort zu erreichen. Bau- und
Betriebskostenminimierung waren eine
wesentliche Vorgabe. Wir haben uns für
das Architekturbüro Hanßen aus Geldern
entschieden, das über große Erfahrung
im Industrie- und Gewerbebau verfügt.
Die Beratung setzte bereits ganz vorne,
bei der Standort- bzw. Grundstückswahl
an, einschließlich der Kaufverhandlungen
mit der Gemeinde Weeze. Gemeinsam
wurden Funktions- und Ablaufprogramme

Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd
The company Wystrach GmbH has had its
headquarters at Holtumsweg 10 in Weeze
for the last 20 years.
However, a company expansion is just
around the corner. Indeed, a new production hall is under construction close by
and still in Weeze. This new additional site
is located in the Industriestraße on the
“Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd” industrial trading
estate. “We are happy and at home in
Weeze” states Jochen Wystrach who,
together with Wolfgang Wolter and Bernd
Valks, is one of the three managing directors with strong family ties to the locality.
„We are part of this region and the region
is part of us. There was therefore no
doubt whatsoever for us when it came
to the choice of a location for our new
production hall which is to be constructed
in 2010“.
Following the fast submission and acceptance of the planning application, the first
construction phase is already underway.
For a more efficient use of the 2,000 m²
floorspace, a modern vertical racking
system with 2,000 bays will be installed.
A production hall and offices will be built
next to this building. The new warehouse
is now almost completed and will probably
be put into operation by the middle of
November 2010. The second construction
phase is planned for mid 2011.
“The construction project was awarded to
a Klever-based Architects office”, indicates
Jochen Wystrach. “Based on our queries
and requirements, we were particularly
interested in working with an architect
willing to provide full and efficient support
during the planning phase in order to
optimise the production process at the
new site. Reduction of construction and
running costs was also a key requirement.
We chose the architect office Hanßen
from Geldern based on their extensive
experience with industrial and commercial
construction projects. A consulting service
was proposed right from the outset with
the choice of a suitable plot of land and
subsequent purchasing negotiations
with the Weeze council. Functional and
procedural programs were then jointly
compiled. Various cost calculations led
to the conclusion that gas cylinders and
containers should be stored in the same
hall using a pallet racking system. Further
considerations brought to light the fact
that the technical and sales offices should
be incorporated into the production hall.
The concrete construction method chosen
provides a perfect solution for the physical
fire and noise-related problems. The
Hanßen Architect office met our wishes
both efficiently and cost-effectively.”

Große Verstärkungen im Vertrieb
Sales team reinforcement
Die Wystrach Propangas-Palette ist eine
geschweißte Stahlpalette in gemäß DIN
EN 1461 verzinkter Ausführung. Die Ecken
des Palettenbodens sind schräg ausgearbeitet, wodurch sich die Palette beim
Stapeln von selbst zentriert. Die Palette
wird vorne mit einem Gatter verschlossen,
das an jeder Seite der vorderen Pfosten
an zwei Stellen in die Pfosten greift.
Hierdurch wird zum einen ein Aufbiegen
der Pfosten nach außen verhindert, zum
anderen ergibt sich hierdurch zusätzliche
Stabilität beim Stapeln der Palette. Die
mittleren Streben in den Seiten der Palette
sind herausnehmbar. Somit ist Zugriff
auf die Flaschen von drei Seiten möglich.
Selbst im gestapelten Zustand lässt sich
die Palette – durch Entfernen der mittleren Streben oder das Hochschieben
des Gatters – von drei Seiten öffnen und
bedienen. Für den Transport auf dem LKW
garantieren vier massive Gurtösen ein
sicheres Verzurren.
The Wystrach propane gas pallet is a
welded and galvanised steel pallet in
compliance with DIN EN 1461. The
corners of the pallet base are inclined to
enable automatic alignment of the pallets
when stacked. The pallet is closed from
the front with a mesh gate which hooks
onto the two front posts at two points on
both sides. This feature prevents outward
bending of the posts on the one hand and
provides greater stability when stacking
the pallets on the other hand. The centre
beams of the pallet side elements may
be removed. This offers access to the gas
cylinders from three sides. Even when
the pallets are stacked, removal of the
centre beam or pushing up of the mesh
gate allows opening and used from three
sides. The four solid strapping brackets
guarantee safe and secure fastening
during truck transport.

und Herr Otworowski. Karin Schuhmacher
verfügt über langjährige Erfahrungen bei
einem großen deutschen Gasehersteller
und ist insbesondere in der Auftragsbearbeitung tätig. Bernd Otworowski kommt
aus der Gasebranche, bringt langjährige
Erfahrung im Bereich Druckgasflaschen/bündel mit und vertritt unser Unternehmen auch im Normungsausschuss DIN
NDG. Bisher bei Wystrach als Vertriebsassistentin tätig, betreut Frau Baudot als
Beraterin nun insbesondere unsere ausländischen Kunden. Neben Ihrer französischen Muttersprache spricht Sie fließend
Englisch und Deutsch.

of the Wystrach team as sales assistant,
Mrs. Baudot will now also be specifically
responsible for our foreign customers. In
addition to her mother tongue French,

für Asien
In Zusammenarbeit mit der
Xperion ALPHA Composites GmbH
Anfang 2009 war die Xperion ALPHA
Composites GmbH, ein Kasseler Hersteller
von Behältern, auf der Suche nach einem
Produktionsunternehmen, das CNG-Container für den asiatischen Markt baut. Da
die Wystrach GmbH über reichlich Erfahrung in der Montage von Batteriefahrzeugen verfügt und hier bereits seit über
15 Jahren aktiv ist, entschied sich die
Xperion ALPHA Composites GmbH für eine
Zusammenarbeit.
Die Anforderung der Xperion ALPHA
Composites GmbH sah einen 20’-Container
vor, der ein Maximum an Gasvolumen
bieten sollte. Diese Vorgabe wurde in
idealer Weise erfüllt und ein für die Kundschaft optimales Raumnutzungskonzept
erschaffen, mit dem zugleich das Gewicht
der Container auf ein Minimum reduziert
werden konnte.
Inzwischen hat die Wystrach GmbH ihre
Produktpalette in Sachen CNG-Container
noch erweitert und bietet auch 40‘Container.
Die Container dienen beispielsweise der
Versorgung von Brennöfen oder Bustankstellen in den Ländern, wo Erdgas (noch)
nicht über ein Leitungsnetz bezogen
werden kann, so wie es in Europa Standard ist. CNG stellt hier für die Endverbraucher einen kostengünstigeren Brennstoff als Flüssiggas dar.

Wystrach-Firmenstandort
Für die Wystrach GmbH hat das Planungsteam der Meta Regalbau GmbH (www.
meta-online.com) jüngst die Implementierung des innovativen Verschieberegalsystem META MULTIBLOC® projektiert.
Dieses wird im Lager des derzeit im Bau
befindlichen neuen Firmengebäude-
Das System ist für verschiedenste Stapler
geeignet und basiert auf einer Siemens
SPS vom Typ S7. Verfahrbar ist die Anlage
über Drucktaster an jedem Wagen, über
Taster am Schaltschrank oder über Fernbedienung. Für die Sicherheit sind alle
Rundum ein starkes Stück Optimierung
in Sachen Logistik, Prozesse, Kosten und
Umweltschutz. Vorteile, die am Ende
unseren Kunden zugute kommen.

For Wystrach GmbH, the Meta Regalbau
GmbH (www.meta-online.com) project
design team recently developed an innovative mobile pallet racking system named
META MULTIBLOC®. This system will
be installed at the new Wystrach GmbH
company site currently under construction
in the Industriestraße on the industrial
trading estate „Herrlichkeitsfeld Süd“. The
final installation conditions and last technical details are currently being discussed
with the architect.
The META MULTIBLOC® system optimises
use of the storage zone. Thanks to the
use of mobile pallet racking technology,
the storage space requirements are
reduced by approximately 50 % compared
to traditional storage systems. The system
will only be used in a part of the warehouse to begin with but rails have already
been planned for the entire hall to allow
extension of the system at a later point in
time with additional trolleys.
The purchase of such a racking system is
also of particular interest when additional production space is to be recovered
in existing halls or when a reduction
in energy and operating costs is to be
attained. A good example for this is a
deep freeze storage room where optimum
use of every cubic metre of cooled air is
required. Mobile pallet racking systems of
the type META MULTIBLOC® may be fully
integrated into the production circuit –
either for buffer storage between production and shipping or to store semi-finished
products at assembly stations.
The system is suitable for use with
various stackers and controlled using a
Siemens PLC type S7. The system may
be controlled with push-buttons on each
trolley, buttons on the switching enclosure
or even remote controlled. For safety
reasons, all trolleys are equipped with
light barriers in the base region. Furthermore, an additional light barrier runs

along the front of the system to register
any entry into the travel zone. Trolley
movement is blocked until a restart is
authorised.

system also helps reduce energy costs.
In this way, the lights are only switched
on in the required zones, for example
along a currently open aisle.

gas vessels in compliance with specific
national requirements/methods:
The testing of compressed gas vessels and
bundles using ultrasonic and water pressure methods is all part of a days work at
Wystrach. This not only includes testing
in compliance with the latest European
requirements, but also specific national
test requirements applicable in Germany,
France, the Netherlands and Belgium. The
following applies to older compressed gas
vessels manufactured before the European
regulations, standards and requirements
entered into effect: They may continue to
be used nationally, but must still undergo
all regular inspections. The test requirements vary from one country to the
next and the test carried out must take
these national requirements into consideration. For this reason Wystrach GmbH
cooperates with “recognised” leading
test bodies in order to offer our international customers a perfectly adequate
and certified test service. The EU “recognised” test bodies are TÜV for Germany,
APAVE for France (cooperation from
2011) and APRAGAZ for the Netherlands
and Belgium. Wystrach GmbH has been
working for years in close cooperation
with the experts of the indicated national
bodies and is therefore perfectly able to
meet all nationally applicable requirements.

Arbeitsplatzerhalt plus Komfort- und
Effizienzgewinn dank KARDEX-Lift
Für Josef Prudlo, seit 1990 bereits als
Schweißer im Team Wystrach beschäftigt, standen plötzlich große berufliche
Fragezeichen im Raum, als Anfang 2009
der Rücken große Probleme bereitete.
Ein ganzes Jahr dauerte die Phase von
Krankenhaus und Rehabilitation, bis
eine Rückkehr ins Arbeitsleben ins Auge
gefasst werden konnte. Jedoch nicht zu
den gleichen Voraussetzungen, denn
eines stand fest: Als Schweißer wären
die körperlichen Belastungen für den
Rücken nicht mehr verträglich. So konnte
Josef Prudlo mit seiner rückenbedingten
Behinderung diesen Berufsweg nicht mehr
fortsetzen. Was also tun? Das fragte sich
nicht nur der Betroffene, sondern auch
die Geschäftsleitung, die den geschätzten
Mitarbeiter gerne weiter beschäftigen
wollte.
Geschäftsführer Jochen Wystrach: „Wir
haben uns in der Geschäftsleitung zusammengesetzt und überlegt, wie wir vielleicht
zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen
könnten. Dabei kamen wir auf eine
Lösung, die zum einen die Platzprobleme
in unserem Lager in hocheffizienter Weise
beseitigt, zum anderen die Weiterbeschäftigung von Herrn Prudlo ermöglicht. Diese
Lösung haben wir mit dem KARDEX Lift in
bester Weise gefunden.“
Das KARDEX System ist ein modulares,
automatisiertes Hochregallager, das den
Lagerraum platzmäßig in hochoptimierter
Form ausnutzt und bei dem die Güter, die
eingelagert bzw. kommissioniert werden,
über verschiedene Ebenen hinweg zum
bedienenden Lagermitarbeiter transportiert werden. „Das heißt, Herr Prudlo kann
nunmehr seine Beschäftigung bei uns

fortsetzen und – in unserem Lagerbereich
bequem an seiner fixen Arbeitsstation
stehend – die verschiedenen Lagerartikel

‚Tablaren’ automatisiert zu ihm manövriert.
Tablare heißen bei dem KARDEX-Lift die
Sortierkästen-Paletten, die zwischen den
Etagen zirkulieren.
„Natürlich bin ich sehr froh und dankbar,

Prudlo, der seit Februar 2010 wieder im

Josef Prudlo, a welder in the Wystrach
team since 1990, was faced with major
professional worries when early in
2009 his back began giving him serious
problems. An entire year was taken up by
visits to the hospital and physiotherapy
before a return to work could be envisaged. Not under the same conditions
however. One thing was for sure: As a
welder, Josef Prudlo’s back would not bear
the heavy loads and this condition would
prevent him from continuing his career. So
what could be done? This question was
not only asked by the person concerned
but also by the management who did
not want to lose this highly appreciated
employee.
Managing Director Jochen Wystrach: “We
discussed this point at managerial level
with an aim to killing two birds with one
stone. The solution found provided on
the one hand a highly effective answer
to our storage space problem and on the
other hand provided a future task for Mr.
Prudlo. The ideal solution was found in the
KARDEX Lift”
The KARDEX system is a modular, automatic vertical storage system offering a
highly optimised use of storage space
whereby the goods entering or leaving the
store are delivered to the storekeeper at
various levels. „In other words, it is now
possible for Mr. Prudlo to continue working
for the company by taking charge of the
storage area tasks while standing comfortable at his work station. The goods are
delivered to him on so-called “shuttles”.
With the KARDEX-Lift, the term shuttle
refers to the sorting box-pallet which
travels between the various levels.
“Of course I am very happy and grateful
that the company took this step which
allows me to continue my career with
Wystrach” stated Josef Prudlo, who took
up his new job in February 2010. The
entire Wystrach team wishes him good
luck and a continued recovery.
The KARDEX Shuttle® XP is an automatic vertical
