Ekaterina Ermilkina
Ekaterina Ermilkina wurde 1975 in Saratow, Russland, geboren. Sie wuchs in
der wunderschönen Stadt Jalta auf der Krim, n der Nordküste des Schwarzen
Meeres, auf. 1985 studierte sie dort an der renommierten Kunsthochschule
von F. Vasiliev und schloss 1991 erfolgreich ab. Nach ihren ersten Einblicke in
die Kunst in Yalta zog sie 1992 nach Sankt Petersburg.1998 erhielt sie ihren
MFA (Master of Fine Arts) von der State Art and Industry Academy. Die
einzigartige Schönheit und Kultur von Sankt Petersburg inspirierte sie die
Stadtlandschaften zu malen.
Im Jahr 2005 zog Ermilkina nach New Jersey, wo sie heute noch lebt und arbeitet.
Ihre Kunst wurde in zahlreichen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen ausgestellt, in internationalen
Galerien sowie an Kunstmessen. Ihre Werke werden in den USA, Kanada, Deutschland, Frankreich,
Japan, Hongkong Russland und in der Schweiz gekauft und gesammelt.
Ihre Kunstwerke sprühen vor Farbe und Emotion der sich wie ein Nebel über das Stadtbild zieht.
„Ich war und bin auf die Kunst mein ganzes Leben lang fokussiert. Sie macht mich optimistisch, voller
Energie und Glücklich. Die lebhaften Farben der Krim, wo ich aufwuchs, das wunderbare marineblau
des Schwarzen Meeres haben mich dazu inspiriert, den Rest meines Lebens zu malen. Ich glaube daran,
dass die Malerei unsere Sehnsucht nach dem Schönen, der Poesie und der Perfektion wiederspiegeln
kann.“
Ekaterina Ermilkinas originellen abstrakten Kunstgemälde entstehen durch eine gekonnte
Kombination von Auftrage und Abtragen der Ölfarbe mittels einem Spachtel auf Leinwand. Ihre
Inspiration sind die expressionistischen und magischen Skylines von Grossstädten wie Manhattan,
Philadelphia oder Chicago welche aus vielen leuchtenden und bunten Hochhäusern bestehen. Ihre
Skylines sind abstrakt, mit Schichten an reicher und lebendiger Farbe und Textur. Ihre neuesten
Gemälde werden von der malerischen Aussicht auf New York City inspiriert. Ihre Kunstwerke
wiederspiegeln ihre eigenen Emotionen und die Energie einer großen, bunten Stadt, die immer wach
ist und niemals schläft.

Ekaterina Ermilkina
Born in 1975, Saratov, Russia, Ekaterina Ermilkina now lives and works in New
Jersey. She grew up in the beautiful city of Yalta in Crimea on the North coast
of the Black Sea, where in 1985 she enrolled as a student to the School of Art
of F.Vasiliev, graduating in 1991.
After her first introduction to fine art in Yalta, in 1992, Ekaterina Ermilkina
moved to SaintPetersburg, Russia. In 1998 she received her MFA from State
Art and Industry Academy. The unique beauty and rich culture of the city
inspired her to paint cityscapes.
In late 2005, Ermilkina moved to the U.S. Her works has been presented in various solo and group
exhibitions in international galleries and art fairs and have been collected throughout the United States,
as well as Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, and Russia.
Her artworks pop with color and motion, casting a candied haze across the cityscape. “I am focused
on art all my life. It makes me optimistic, full of energy and happy. The vivid colors of Crimea where I
grew up, the beautiful marine of the Black Sea, inspired me to paint for the rest of my life. I believe
that paintings can reflect our desires for beauty, poetics and perfection.”
Ekaterina Ermilkina’s original abstract fine art paintings are created using a skillful combination of
applying and removing oil paint with a palette knife on canvas. Her inspirations are the expressionistic
magic skylines of big cities like Manhattan, Philadelphia, or Chicago filled with colorful skyscrapers.
The urban scenic views are abstracted and rich with vivid and textured layers. Ermilkina’s emotional
architectural patchwork and mosaic cityscapes radiate a life of balance and positive energy.
