Be «chic» by the pool this summer
This summer the bikini is black, with simple
lines and made of smooth fabric. The ladies will
be irresistible in luxurious gold and silver models
that also shine this season.
Sensual and witty, the bikini celebrates its
sixtieth birthday.
The French automobile engineer Louis Réard,
daringly decided to reduce the size of the
swimming costume and triggered a revolution in
the fashion world at the time.
He named it the «Bikini» after the atoll situated
in the Marshall islands of the Pacific Ocean. On
the day of its presentation, none of the models
agreed to wear it and Mr. Réard had to turn to
the dancer Micheline Bernardini. Although it was
forbidden in some countries, this swimwear
quickly became famous thanks to actresses such
as Raquel Welch, Ursula Andrés or Brigitte Bardot
who wore it on the silver screen.
The bikini keeps on changing; it is sometimes
tiny, in intense colours, with bold models, with
floral, ethnic or geometrical patterns, or vertical
and horizontal stripes, not forgetting the gold and
silver designs that are the trend this year. Keep
your bikinis and swimsuits of previous summers
and try on a new one that will make you feel
attractive and sexy.
Out of all the models on offer at the moment,
the most sought after are the romantic ones with
embroidered flowers, bows and delicate frills as
well as the «retro» swimsuits, inspired by
Hollywood actresses of the forties and fifties when
stripes and corset type designs were fashionable.

The «bandeau» model, without straps, suits women who have a small chest, provided that
gravity law doesn’t affect them, in that case they should opt for a slightly padded model with an
underwire that will enhance the chest.
As for the bikini bottom, women with long and slim legs can choose any kind but if their legs are
short they should avoid the «culotte» model.
