This guide has the intention to define types, models and spots to fix the price tags, standardizing the visual
presentation of the products and even preventing that labels damage the product or impair the name, brand and
product basic information’s.
MAKING THE PRICE TAG
The application and printing of the price tags on products is supplier’s responsibility. It is Marisa’s responsibility
to provide PDF file with Marisa’s standard tag layouts. Printing can be done by own supplier or any kind of printing company. It is mandatory to use the PDF file sent by the purchase team. Any kind of change in the file might
affect the reading of the barcode and in this case, Marisa will not be the responsible.
ORDER CONDITION
Every order delivered at forwarder warehouse (APL) shall be labeled directly by supplier within the standards
established herein.
LABELING PRODUCTS
The supplier shall apply each label in the form and location suitable for the product, as expressed in this statement orientation. If the product gets damaged during the labeling, it will be the supplier’s responsibility. The instructions must be followed strictly to avoid
ORGANIZATION OF PRODUCTS
The labeled products must be separated by packs and price ranges.
Each outer package (master cartons), as a rule, must contain only one product grade and a single price range
that must be signed on the shipping marks (packing label) as instructed in supplier’s manual.
NOTE: In cases of differentiated package, it must be advised by commercial department at negotiation
moment.
QUALITY CONTROL AT DELIVERY
Every product delivered at distribution center must be submitted to Quality Control within the sampling criteria
defined by Marisa considering aspects:
a) Individual marking of products, by checking:

Product reference (if does match with label description)

Place and attachment of label in each product
 Possible physical damage on the product at labeling process.
b) Making products packages, by:


LOCATION OF TAGS IN THE PRODUCTS
Below we will see the types of labels, types of fixing and location patterns:
1. LABEL TYPES
The label type must consider the characteristics of each product, seeking the most appropriate way to display
without damaging the product.
There are three kinds of price tag:
a) CARD LABEL (FIGURE 1) – Label “Tag Couchê” – 170 grams
For products made of woven fabric or knit presented without individual packages. Also used in handbags, wallets and backpacks fixed at the product by a Nylon pin. This is the most common type of labels used in Marisa. They are used in two ways:
(1) Label for single/Spare Parts (Figure 1) - unit card label;
(2) Label for sets and shoes; a label for each part, called double label (Figure 2). One label indicates the price and shall be applied on top and the other one must not contain the price and shall be
applied at bottom
b) ADHESIVE LABEL (FIGURE 3) – Used for leather goods or similar(wallets, coin-purse) and, by exception
for products sold in individual packages and kits with no manufacture’s bar code
c) COMPLETE ADHESIVE LABEL (FIGURE 4) – Used for socks, glasses and gadgets.

Card label attachment can be done in three ways
a) In general clothing, with the “quick pin” 25mm (NORMAL) or 60mm (LONG) (FIGURE 5) that may be
applied by needle gun
b) In fine fabric clothing with “fine pin” 19mm.
c) In leather goods or similar with handles (purse and bags) with “manual pin” (FIGURE 6) also known
as “ring pin” applied manually to the product.

2. PLACING THE TAGS
The predetermination of the attachment point of the price tag is designed to allow it quick viewing by the customer and to avoid damage to the product as well as to facilitate reading by the cashier.

As a general rule for clothing, the label shall always be fixed in the left lateral edge (the wearer) of the
product taking advantage of the strength and security offered by the seam between the sides and the waistband of the product.
EXCEPTION: In some predetermined cases price tags have distinct attachment spots. Any other
situation
not covered by this statement shall be submitted to the approval of PURCHASING MANAGEMENT for each
purchase request of the product.
Attach the card label for spare parts with normal “quick pin” (25mm) on the left side (the
wearer) of the product under the seam of the sleeve or upper chest front.
2.1. DRESSES:

SKIRTS, PANTS AND BERMUDA: The attachment of the card label for spare parts with “quick pin”
must be made on the amendment of the waistband and side beam.

NORMAL PIN of 25mm for denim jeans, twill and woven fabrics.

FINE PIN of 19mm for knitting and spandex.

(25mm) as the type of the product::
a) WITHOUT POSTERIOR NECKLINE (WITH COLLAR, POLO, BALD, ETC..): On the private label at the neck line

b) WITH POSTERIOR NECKLINE (HALTER, ETC): between the side seam and the seam of the sleeve or
on the left side (the wearer) of the garment.

2.4.
SETS: Attach the double label (one label per piece) with normal “quick pin” (25mm), the label with
the price must be attached at the “top” and the “blank” label must be attached at the “bottom”
(Print 7).
a) TOP: Follow instructions given on item 2.3 for label application in blouses, shirts, t-shirts and tanks.
b) BOTTOM: Follow instructions given on item 2.2 for label application in skirts, pants and Bermuda.

b) BIKINIS
SPARE PARTS: On top the card label must be attached in the seam of the lower left handle (wearer)
front side of the product and the bottom in side seam (wearer)
SETS: Follow the same places as Spare Parts but using the double label.

DAY LINGERIE
a) SPARE PARTS: Attach the unit card label at the inside private label using the long quick pin (60mm)
allowing the label to be exposed outside the product.
NOTE:
Negotiated products for sales in table (offers), can have the label seamed with manufacturer’s label and the center details of the product (bond).
PRODUCTS WITH TRANSFER LABEL:
 NORMAL BRA: uses the “ring pin” on left handle. If removable handles, attach at bra bulge.
 BAND BRA: uses “ring pin” on left side (wearer).
 PANTIES: uses “ring pin” on left side (wearer).

2.7. NIGHT LINGERIE:
Attach the card label with “quick pin” as the type of the product:
a) WITHOUT POSTERIOR NECKLINE (WITH COLLAR, POLO, BALD, ETC.): On the manufacter’s label at neck’s
line.
b) WITH POSTERIOR NECKLINE (HALTER, ETC): between the side seam and the seam of the sleeve on the
left side (the wearer) of the garment.

2.9. SHORT DOLL AND PAJAMAS (SET AND
SPARE PARTS): Use double labels for sets (one tag for each
piece, tag with price on top, “blank tags” on bottom). Use normal “quick pin” (25mm) in spare parts
garments as following instructions:
a) TOP: Follow instructions given on item 2.3 for label application in blouses, shirts, t-shirts and tanks.
b) BOTTOM: Follow instructions given on item 2.2 for label application in skirts, pants and Bermuda.
