1.1
PNEUMATIC SYSTEM
The Irizar pneumatic system is based on the concept of distribution blocks. This means that all components
are concentrated in the "pneumatic central". This central is composed of many valves, solenoids and protection
elements. There are pneumatic pipes leaving the central, all identified with numerical rings corresponding to the
pneumatic diagram. Therefore, on the Irizar's vehicles, most of the pneumatic components are located in the
"pneumatic central".

The door's pneumatic system is entirely developed by "Masats". It's main components are:

Service valve
When closed, eliminates the body's air and also

separates the chassi's circuit from the body's
circuit. This item is useful to locate air leak. Using
its functionalities, it is possible to identify which
circuit has the leaking, body or chassis.
Dryer filter-Nebulizer
Clean the air of the compressor and lubricates
the valves and other components of the
pneumatic system through oil nebulization.

Selector valve
This valve act on the pneumatic system when the
opening valve on emergency mode is activated.
It provide two entrances to the same circuit.
Electro-valve (5/2 ways)
This valve is responsible for operating the door
system and the luggage compartment system.
There is a electro-valve for each pneumatic door.
It is activated by electric or manual signal.
Door's actuator
Transform the pneumatic energy in movement.
This movement will open or close the door.
Emergency
valve

opening
Emergency Opens the door during emergencies situations. It
can also be used during door's adjustment
process.
Electronic tipper relay
Replaces two pulse keys and extras relay by a
single one relay. It has a protection fuse to
prevent damage due to wrong connections and
current peak.
Anti-Ram valve
- This valve is indicated to restore the circuit's
pressure.
- The Anti-ram valve is used usually after a
blocking valve. Protecting the system against any
sudden pressure raise that may damage the car.

Luggage compartment's Actuator
The actuating cylinder opens the vehicle's
compartment cover. Unities available: 4410N,
7315N, 7 bar.

ELECTRO VALVE 5/2 WAYS:
The electro valve can be divided into 2 parts, Picture 2. Both components communicates through holes
sealed with O'rings, picture 3. Element's junction:
Electro valve body: Element where the actuating elements are found.
Distribuction block: Element of connection with other electro valves, to compose a distribution block.
Therefore, for all valves there is only one air inlet and one relief outlet.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM
Attention: The maintenance procedures of the door's pneumatic system must be programed every 6
months or 50.000km.
1- Purgar a umidade acumulada no filtro secador e troca o óleo pneumático

Purge the pneumatic system's humidity through the
Allen retentor, located on the inferior part of the drier
filter.
Add pneumatic oil. The recommended oil is Masats (
OAAF code ) or an mixture of SAE10 + 5% of bi
molybdenum sulfide. Complete with 30 cm^3 or half
of Masats package.
Clean the O'Ring and its fixation hole. Replace if
necessary.
