I have tested all brands of helmets and I found the Stilo products had the best quality of sound
and were the most comfortable. The WRC’s fixed boom offers safety and a microphone that

Just like a racing driver a helmet has to be a combination of values permanently updated.

Why the name Stilo? We do not like acronyms and we wanted a short
name that could be easily pronounced all over the world, recalling
ancient times. “Stilo” (pronounced steel-o) was an instrument that the
ancients used to engrave their words into wax boards. “Stile” or “Style”
in English, referring to the way each single person uses a stilo - your
individual style.
Our style consists of making products that leave a mark, exactly like a stilo in our ancestors wax
boards.

Exceptional audio and noise cancelling qualities, “Extra

Features:
Audio quality directly comes from the ST-30 and, thanks to
the “Extra filter” switch it ensures excellent noise cancelling
quality even in a Super 2000, the most noisy car beyond
dispute.Activating the Extra Filter function, background noises
are greatly reduced allowing the driver to hear the co-driver’s
voice at a higher volume while the co-driver hears the driver’s
voice at a lower volume. It is not recommend to use the “Extra
Filer” function when traveling in Road Mode.

How it works:
The Bluetooth intercom (weight 66 gr) can
be mounted in the car and connected to the
helmet with cable (3) or it can be mounted
directly to the helmet and connected
with cable (2). Helmet attachment is the
ideal solution in case of endurance races
with driver changes as there is no cable
connecting the helmet to the car and the
drivers’ intercoms automatically disconnect
and connect during the change. Car and
crew chief telephones communicate
continually. When the crew chief wants
to talk, he presses the transmission key
on the headset. The driver simply talks
without the need to press a talk button.
Thanks to digital noise cancellation the
crew chief does not hear background
noises coming from the car even though
the driver communication line is always
active. Should the connection fail, the
system would automatically reconnect.

Earmuffs
Unique to Stilo is the use of passive noise reduction Earmuffs in every model helmet.
The Earmuffs not only provide significant noise reduction, but are also part of the
fitment certification of the helmet. Their pressure on the head can be adjusted by
inserting different thickness foam rubber “shim” pads placed in between the earmuffs
and the shell. Depending on your type of racing and/or driver preference, speakers can
be integrated into the earmuffs thereby eliminating
the need for ear buds entirely. Earmuffs fitted with
speakers are included with our “Rally Electronics”
options - see accessories page 54.

EPS Cheekpads
WRC DES fitted both with earmuffs and EPS cheekpads. Stilo’s
experience with ST4 (first helmet in the world to be FIA 8860-2004
certified with earmuffs) was totally implemented into WRC DES. The
usage of EPS cheekpads assures the best safety in lateral crashes.
Adjustable Microphone
WRC DES is fitted with a new easily adjustable microphone holder. All
it takes is to remove the microphone holder padding and to move the
related spacers in order to move
the microphone 5, 10 or 15 mm
closer to the mouth.
Integrated plug
WRC DES’ integrated plug lies far from the Hans clips in order to ease up
the connection jack plugging to the intercom (Rally version) or to the radio
(Touring version).

ST4 WGT Range

TOP AIR SYSTEM
This unique cooling system feeds air from your
cars fresh air system to both the top of the head
and to the front of the face while at the same time
helping to keep the inside of the visor clear.
air flow
The system works with the existing design of the
helmet and does not require any drilling of the
shell or modifications to the EPS.
There are four small holes molded into the top of
every ST4 helmet. The Top Air system fits over the
forward two holes and extends down the front of
the helmet and just under the top of the visor. Air
fed into the rear feed of the Top Air is directed
both to the top of the head and down over the
face. A small deflector just inside the visor area
directs air towards the visor and away from the
eyes. Old air flows out of the rear holes on the top
of the helmet and from the bottom of the helmet
significantly reducing the likelihood of CO2 buildup
in the helmet.
Top Air System can be fitted to all ST4 Formula
and Wide GT model helmets. Thanks to the special
adhesive used it can be removed and repositioned
without damaging the helmet finish or most paint
jobs simply by replacing the adhesive.

Technical features
Carbon peak
Standard feature for all carbon versions. Optional for the
Composite version.
Peak
Adjustable peak designed to shade from the sun. Default for the
composite fiber version.
Earmuffs
Ensure excellent insulation from noise and are homologated
with integrated speakers. Their pressure on the head over the
ears can be adjusted by inserting foam shims between the
earmuffs and the helmet. Two sizes of shims are provided with
the helmet.
New
Magnetic-dynamic noise cancelling microphone. Foam spacers
are provided to allow adjustment of the microphones position
with respect to the driver’s mouth.
Integrated plug
When optional radio electronics are added to the helmet, our
unique molded-in port secures the jack and eliminates exposed
cables that could subject to damage. Connection adapter cables
are available for most common radio systems.

Stilo helmets are certified with the latest FIA 8858-2010 regulation, which
provides for the anchorage of a head and neck restraint (HNR) by means of an
threaded M6 nut integrated into the helmet. Stilo FIA 8860 helmets come prefitted with HANS posts. All other Stilo helmets are ready for installation of posts
for approved HNR devices.
ST4 Rally Range
New
HANS posts compatible with the integrated M6 fitting can be ordered from Stilo
– part number YA0015. (Note: the M6 fitting in the helmet requires a different
type HANS post and is not compatible with previous generation HANS posts –
this has no effect on the HANS itself or the tethers.)

Eject System
EJECT SYSTEM
New
Pulling the helmet off a crash victim can, in
seconds, cause further trauma to the neck
and cervical spine resulting in serious,
debilitating, and permanent damage. The Eject
Helmet Removal System was designed to aid
in the safer removal of a helmet by pushing
the helmet off the head after the upper spine
has been immobilized.
The only removal device of its kind that
provides medical caregivers at the track, or
on the road, the ability to remove closed-face
helmets quickly and safety without applying
potentially damaging pressure or traction to
the spine.
When you order your new Stilo helmet with
Eject, we will neatly install the Eject system
within the crown pad of the helmet and cover
it with liner fabric… you won’t even know it
is there!

The Specifics
Essentially, the Eject system is an airbag that is inflated either by hand
or by a CO2 cartridge when an EMT gets to you after an impact. The
device is installed in your helmet. Once installed you essentially forget
about it until the dark day when you have an impact that threatens
your spinal cord. The EMT will attach his/her inflator bulb or CO2
cartridge to the valve hanging out of the back of your helmet and
pump up the bag, lifting the helmet off your head without any strain
on your neck. Because it lifts off the top of your head, the chance of
further injury is drastically reduced.
How It Works
Using a CO2 inflator, a small air bladder with an attached hose is
inflated to quickly push the helmet off, while emergency medical
personnel safely support the patient’s neck.
Ideally, if a driver’s helmet is already equipped with Eject, EMS
can immediately begin medical attention. In the event that Eject is
not installed, EMS is provided with an additional option for proper
removal of the helmet with the First Responder Unit. Both the CO2 and
handheld inflators help to remove a helmet in a matter of seconds.
The Eject bulb inflator is also available for purchase. Although the
bulb is a slower method of inflation than the CO2 inflator, it is best to
keep a bulb on-hand for backup.
