"Prazeres Intemporais" em tudo o que fazemos. Este Natal, decidimos apoiar
a Associação Sol ( www.sol-criancas.pt ) e oferecer algo muito especial às suas
crianças, para que seja também para elas um daqueles momentos que ficam na
memória passados 50 anos, cheio de carinho, sorrisos e muita alegria.
Decorámos a tradicional árvore de Natal do Hotel cheia de estrelas, cada uma
delas representando um presente para cada criança da Associação Sol.
Convidámos então os nossos hóspedes e residentes do Penha Longa Hotel
& Golf Resort a colaborarem connosco nesta acção e a recolherem uma das
estrelas penduradas na nossa árvore de Natal. Depois, foi a parte mais fácil
e alegre, organizando uma grande festa de entrega de presentes em que não
faltou a presença do Pai Natal, um delicioso lanche e muita diversão.

At the Penha Longa Hotel & Golf Resort we aim to follow our motto
"Timeless Pleasures", in everything we do. Last Christmas, we supported the Sol
Association ( www.sol-criancas.pt ) and we offered a very special gift to the
children of this institution, hoping this would be a moment they would cherish
forever, full of love, smiles and plenty of joy. We decorated the traditional
Christmas tree of our hotel with stars, and each of them represented a present
for every children living at the Sol Association. Then, we asked the guests and
residents of the Penha Longa Hotel & Golf Resort to help us in this action,
by picking a star in our Christmas tree. After that, came the easiest and happiest
moment, with a huge party where the gifts were handed to the children, with the
presence of Santa Claus, as well as a delicious tea and plenty of fun.

"Enquanto criança, eu ajudava a minha Avó Nicolina a cuidar da fruta e dos
vegetais." A Avó Nicolina é uma das musas do Chefe Zampaglione.
"Um dia estávamos na horta, e a Avó Nicolina colheu um tomate aquecido pelo
sol, tirou do bolso um pequeno saleiro, e deu-me a provar o vegetal recém colhido.

In the case of Peter Zampaglione, it was a tomato. But not just any tomato.
"As a child, I would help my Grandmother Nicolina take care of our vegetables
and fruits, " Chef Zampaglione muses. "But one day, she helped me pick a sunwarmed tomato off of the vine and she pulled a small bottle of salt from her
pocket…we ate them right there in the field. I can still taste them." It is this
memory and his love for the flavors of the earth and sea that Chef Zampaglione
brings to the Penha Longa Hotel and Golf Resort, where he is executive chef,
overseeing all aspects of the resort's culinary offerings.
From his grandmother's garden to his father's kitchen where he was well versed
