Mais uma época futebolística chegou ao fim e, segundo
as nossas previsões, o nosso clube cumpriu com a principal
meta de 2011, que se circunscrevia em continuar a fazer
parte do Moçambola, principal campeonato do futebol
moçambicano, para gáudio de todos os integrantes da família marlin, sem excepção.
O nosso percurso não foi fácil, como já era de prever, se
por mais não seja porque o brio com que a nossa equipa se
apresentou na estreia no Moçambola em 2010 deu sinais de
que o Vilankulo FC não era mais uma equipa no Moçambola, mas sim uma equipa do Moçambola, daí que em 2011
todos os adversários tenham encarado os marlins com respeito redobrado.
A época não começou da melhor forma, pois as necessidades no terreno obrigaram-nos a mudar duas vezes de treinador, o que sempre traz dificuldades de readaptação aos
atletas, mas era necessário e, felizmente, as opções foram
acertadas e a época acabaria terminando da melhor forma,
com Chiquinho Conde no comando técnico da equipa.
Cabe espaço, por conseguinte, aqui e agora, para em meu
nome pessoal e do colectivo da Direcção agradecer o abnegado esforço empreendido pelos jogadores, pelos dois
treinadores que antecederam Chiquinho Conde, nomeadamente Miguel dos Santos e Abdul Omar, e por todos quantos, directa ou indirectamente, deram um pouco de si para
que Vilankulo se mantivesse na rota do Moçambola.
Pela terceira vez consecutiva vamos participar no
Moçambola e pretendemos entrar com firmeza, inovativos
e sem medo de errar ou de enfrentar dificuldades, pois diz
a sabedoria antiga que a adversidade é um trampolim para
a maturidade, o mesmo que dizer que os nossos erros nos
beneficiam mais do que nossos acertos.
Em 2012 apresentaremos uma face mais madura, mais
ambiciosa, que nos permita, paulatinamente, criar bases
para um profissionalismo sustentável, sendo que o primeiro grande sinal é a renovação do contrato com o técnico
Chiquinho Conde, que prestará serviço ao nosso clube por
cinco ininterruptos anos, com mais outros tantos de opção.
Orgulha-nos sobremaneira o facto de Chiquinho Conde
ter percebido e concordado com o alcance do nosso projecto, sobretudo o facto de ter chegado à conclusão de
que o seu perfil enquadra-se perfeitamente com a visão do
clube, condição sine qua non para que este casamento se
consumasse, do qual esperamos e acreditamos que dará resultados consentâneos com as nossas expectativas.
Como já deve ser de domínio público, o nosso clube está
muito avançado na criação da sua própria Academia, outro
sinal que revela a preocupação de, a cada ano, criarmos
bases para que o futebol do clube seja profissional e, mais
do que isso, sustentável. Os frutos dessa visão já começam
a fazer-se sentir, com a equipa de juniores a mostrar no
Campeonato Provincial que tem futuro, o que viria a confirmar-se com a disputa da final do Campeonato Nacional
no seu primeiro ano, tornando-se vice-campeão.
A terminar, desejo boas férias e feliz quadra festiva a
toda a equipa de futebol e que todos voltem no princípio do
próximo ano em perfeitas condições físicas e psicológicas
para ajudarem o Vilankulo FC a lutar com galhardia pela
consecução dos seus objectivos. Os desejos vão a todo o
colectivo de Direcção, patrocinadores, parceiros, sócios e
simpatizantes.

One more football season came to an end and, according to our predictions; our club has accomplished the main
goal of 2011, which aimed at continuing in Moçambola, the
main championship of the mozambican football, for the joy
of all members of marlin’s family, with no exception.
Our way was not easy, as we could predict, if it was not
the honour of the performance of our team at the beginning
of Moçambola in 2010 which brought to light that Vilankulo FC was no longer a team in Moçambola, but indeed, a
team of Moçambola, the reason why in 2011all the opponents have faced the marlins with more respect.
The season did not start well, and the demands in the
field made us change the coach for two times, what always
brings difficulties to the players to readapt, but it was necessary and, likely, the decisions were fitting good and the
season ended in the best way, with Chiquinho Conde as the
main coach of the team.
This is the chance, here and now, on my behalf and on behalf of my staff and the collective of management, to thank
for every effort made by the players, by the two coaches
predecessors to Chiquinho Conde, namely Miguel dos Santos and Abdul Omar, and for the all those who, directly or
indirectly, have given their hand so that Vilankulo continues in the rank of Moçambola.
For three consecutive years we are going to make part
of Moçambola and we inspire to enter with firmness, innovative and without fear of making mistakes or face challenges. It says an ancient saying that the adversity is the
spring-board for the maturity, that is to say that we learn
from our own mistakes.
In 2012 we are going to introduce a new and more mature
look, more ambitious, that will allows us, slowly, to build
up the bases for a sustainable professionalism, and the first
task was to renewing the contract with the coach Chiquinho
Conde, who will be working in our club for five uninterrupted years, with more five optional years.
We are proud of Chiquinho Conde for having understood
and agreed with the value of our project, especially for the
fact of having drawn the conclusion that his profile matches
perfectly with the vision of the club, the sine qua non condition for the fulfilment of the wedding, to which we expect
and believe that will give good results according to our expectations.
Once is of the public domain, our club is more advanced
in the process to establish its own academy, one more reason that illustrates the need of, each every year, build up
some basis so that the football of the club becomes professional and, more than that, sustainable. The benefits of this
insight has already brought some results, with the junior
team demonstrating in the Provincial Championship that
it has future, what has been confirmed in the final dispute
of National Championship in its first year, becoming vicechampion.
To conclude, i wish good holidays and happy Christmas
Season to the all football team so that they all return at the
beginning of the year in perfect physical and psychological
conditions in order to assist the Vilankulo FC to fight with
bravery to achieve its goals.

É com enorme prazer que a equipa editorial da revista Vilankulo
apresenta ao estimado público a segunda edição, que fecha numa
altura em que o campeonato nacional de futebol acaba de terminar, com a equipa a garantir a continuidade do escalão maior, o
mesmo que dizer que em 2013 vai cumprir a sua terceira presença
consecutiva no Moçambola.
Neste número, o leitor encontrará informação diversificada sobre o clube, com destaque para duas entrevistas, uma com o novo
treinador da equipa principal de futebol, Chiquinho Conde, que
nos fala sobre as dificuldades que enfrentou para, em seis jornadas, garantir a manutenção na elite do futebol moçambicano, bem
como a penicilina que usou para superá-las.
Chiquinho Conde – que acaba de assinar um contrato de longo
termo (cinco anos) com a direcção do clube, na perspectiva de
montar uma equipa do futuro e ajudar, com a sua experiência,
na criação de bases para um desenvolvimento sustentável – é,
por estas e outras razões, a cara da presente revista. Chiquinho
Conde mostra-se encantado com o clube e com a vila e promete
entregar-se de corpo e alma neste ambicioso projecto.
A outra entrevista é com Victor Mayamba, que vai assumir as
funções de Coordenador da Academia do Vilankulo FC. Victor –
com larga experiência em projectos de formação e com passagens
pelo Mahafil, Académica, Costa do Sol e Ferroviário de Maputo
– vai acumular estas funções com as de adjunto-técnico da equipa
sénior, havendo a ressalvar que o jovem técnico substitui o anterior coordenador, Rogério Marianni, que vai se formar na Europa.
Mas porque a nossa missão é mesmo mostrar o máximo possível do que acontece no clube, para que os associados, simpatizantes e público em geral acompanhem a par e passo todas as
actividades dos marlins em termos competitivos, bem como os
esforços tendentes a garantir o seu desenvolvimento sustentável,
neste número o leitor ainda encontrará outra informação importante, a saber:
– a estreia promissora dos juniores no campeonato provincial
(e participação no Nacional, onde foram vice-campeões nacionais), a introdução de novos bilhetes de época para funcionários
públicos, pessoas portadoras de deficiência, mulheres, alunos e
idosos, o lançamento do Cartão de Crédito do Vilankulo, a adesão
da Sasol como parceira do clube, a luz que brilha no fundo do
túnel para uma parceria com o Bristol City, da II Liga Inglesa,
cujo maior accionista, Stephen Lansdown, que detém 68.8% das
acções do Bristol City, esteve em Vilankulo e deu fortes sinais de
interesse na parceria.
Isto e muito mais são motivos sobejamente apetecíveis para o
leitor deliciar-se com esta revista de um clube que, a olhos vistos,
está a dar passos bem (co)medidos para o seu crescimento, sem se
abalar com momentos de crise, porque aprendeu, certamente, que
o sucesso atinge-se, muitas vezes, com o somatório de adversidades. Aliás, os grandes navegadores devem a sua reputação aos
temporais e tempestades, não é verdade?

It is a great pleasure for the editorial team of Vilankulo magazine to
present to the distinguished public the second edition that closes in a
time in witch the football national championship is ending, with the team
securing a higher scale that is to say that in 2013 it is going to accomplish its third consecutive presence in Moçambola.
In this edition, the reader will find diverse information about the club,
with more focus on two interviews, one with the new coach of the main
team of football, Chiquinho Conde, who speaks about the difficulties he
faced, and in six rounds, guarantee and maintain the elite ranking of the
football of Mozambique and the medicine he used to overcome them.
Chiquinho Conde – who has just signed a long term contract (fife
years) with the management of the club, in the perspective of making
a team for the future and help, with His experience, on building basis
for a sustainable development – and for this and other reasons, the face
of the current magazine. Chiquinho Conde is delighted by the club and
by the village and he is promising to support with heart and soul in this
ambitious Project.
The other interview is with Victor Mayamba, who is going to hold the
position of coordinator of the Vilankulo Academy FC. Victor – with large
experience in training projects and for having passed by Mahafil, Académica, Costa do Sol e Ferroviário de Maputo – he is going to double
the tasks, one of which is deputy coach of the senior team , having to retain that the young coach has substitute the former coordinator, Rogério
Marianni, who is going for a training in Europe.
Since our mission is to show the most we can about the club, to the
associates, supporters, and the public in general that follow closely the
activities of marlins in competitive terms, as well as, the effort to guarantee its sustainable development, in this edition, the reader will also find
other relevant information, namely:
– the promising performance of juniors in the provincial championship (and national participation, where were national vice-champions),
the introduction of new tickets for the season addressed for public
servants, disabled people, women, students and elders, the launch of
Vilankulo Credit Card, the membership of Sasol as a partner of the club.
There is a light in the darkness (there is a hope) of Bristol City partnership, for the II English League, whose the main shareholder, Stephen
Lansdown, with 68.8% shares of the Bristol City, had been in Vilankulo
and has demonstrated strong interest in this partnership.
This and much more, are calling reasons for the reader to have a look
at this magazine of a club that, clearly seen, is taking careful steps for
its growth, without falling into temptations in the moments of crisis, because has learnt, and certainly, success is achieved in most of the times,
by the way we overcome the challenges. Good sailors thank their reputation to storms and tumults, isn’t it?

Chiquinho Conde vai trabalhar e passear de marlin ao peito, na
sequência do contrato de cinco anos assinado com o Vilankulo
FC, com mais cinco de opção. O clube blindou o técnico com
uma cláusula de rescisão de 300 mil dólares, válida para equipas
estrangeiras que eventualmente queiram contratar o treinador durante a vigência do contrato. Para clubes nacionais, a cláusula não
é accionável. A nossa revista conversou com o técnico, que não
só reage a esse contrato inédito, assim como faz um balanço da
época e mostra o seu encanto por Vilankulo.
Chiquinho Conde é um homem feliz com a sua sorte. A seis jornadas do fim do Moçambola foi convidado a substituir o técnico
Abdul Omar, numa altura em que a prova observava uma paragem para dar lugar à realização da X Edição dos Jogos Africanos
Maputo 2011. Sabia que era um grande desafio, mas aceitou-o e,
hoje, faz um balanço positivo das seis jornadas que estiveram sob
sua responsabilidade.
O presidente do clube, Yassin Amuji, que é apologista de um
crescimento sustentável, achou ter encontrado em Chiquinho
Conde a pessoas certa para ajudá-lo a construir uma equipa do
futuro. Nessa perspectiva fez uma proposta inédita ao antigo internacional moçambicano, no sentido de assinar um contrato de
quatro anos, com mais quatro de opção.
Sem pestanejar, Chiquinho aceitou e as partes estão felizes
por poderem iniciar um novo ciclo que se espera faça crescer
o Vilankulo e as suas gentes. Aliás, Chiquinho diz mesmo estar
fascinado com o projecto e acredita que vai ajudar Vilankulo a
crescer e, por tabela, ele próprio vai crescer com o clube.
Sem mais delongas, vamos à entrevista com o ex-capitão dos
Mambas, que nos seus verdes anos da carreira de treinador – que
lhe fizeram escalar o Desportivo, o Maxaquene e o Ferroviário de
Maputo – já foi campeão e vencedor da Taça de Moçambique e
da Supertaça.
NÃO IMAGINAVA QUE SERIA TÃO DIFÍCIL ASSIM
– Uma vitória na última jornada do Moçambola, por sinal a
terceira consecutiva. Não haveria melhor maneira de terminar a
época…
– Sem dúvida, sobretudo depois de um período conturbado
para o clube e para os jogadores, que vinham de três treinadores
com metodologias de treino completamente diferentes. Isso confundiu muito aos atletas e não ajudou muito para que tivéssemos
um campeonato tranquilo. O Vilankulo é uma equipa jovem. Na
época passada foi considerado equipa revelação, foi finalista da
Taça e se não estou em erro terminou com 34 pontos, em sétimo
e era minha motivação particular tentar chegar de novo à final da
Taça. Infelizmente não conseguimos. Depois pairou a ideia, no
meio de tudo isso, de que o Vilankulo poderia descer de Divisão
depois daquela três derrotas consecutivas, o que mexeu muito
com a estrutura do clube e com a equipa, mas os jogadores deram
uma boa resposta e conseguimos ganhar os três últimos jogos e
garantir a manutenção, superando, inclusivamente, os 34 pontos
da época passada.
– Quando o Chiquinho foi convidado a seis jornadas do fim
imaginava que o grau de dificuldade seria assim tão intenso?
– Não. Sinceramente não. Já conhecia a equipa do Vilankulo e estava convicto de que poderia fazer um campeonato mais
tranquilo, mas questões de fórum interno ou extra futebol contribuíram para que as coisas não estivessem muito bem. Houve
toda uma intranquilidade psicológica que invadiu o grupo de trabalho e que não ajudou muito para que o plantel estivesse sereno,
com a agravante de que o mesmo era muito reduzido, com 22

jogadores, dos quais três eram guarda-redes, portanto com poucas
opções para o treinador. Depois houve um rompimento total daquilo que eram as metodologias de treino e os jogadores tiveram
que fazer muito esforço para assimilar a minha metodologia de
treino, de concepção do jogo, enfim, processos que levam sempre
algum tempo. Mas no fim ficámos todos satisfeitos porque conseguimos aquilo que eram os nossos objectivos principais, que
passavam pela manutenção e superação da pontuação do ano passado.
– O facto de não ter podido reforçar a equipa, dada a altura
em que chegou, jogou também um papel negativo, não?
– Sim, porque é sempre difícil um treinador lidar com jogadores que não conhece, mas tive a sorte de ter um período de 45
dias para tentar conhecê-los, já que a prova estava interrompida.
Porém, esses dias não foram suficientes para eu me identificar
com eles e eles comigo. Conhecia alguns jogadores que já tinham trabalhado comigo, casos do Jaimito, Matlombe e Félix, estes dois últimos lançados por mim a partir dos juniores do Maxaquene, mas de qualquer forma passaram muitos anos e, como
disse, houve um rompimento da metodologia do treino. Como é
óbvio, não podendo estar com jogadores da minha confiança, que
conhecem a minha maneira de trabalhar, tudo ficava complicado.
Mas, enfim, foi uma experiência boa e conseguimos superar o
desafio.
O APOIO DO PRESIDENTE FOI MUITO DETERMINANTE
– Nessa óptica, com que armas teve que lutar para superar
essas adversidades?
– Primeiro contei com a sensibilidade do próprio presidente,
que é uma pessoa aberta. Aceitou que eu trouxesse um jovem
treinador para trabalhar como meu adjunto. Aceitou contratar um
treinador de guarda-redes, algo que não existia aqui mas que é
muito importante, pois os guarda-redes ocupam um posto específico e eles devem ser treinados por alguém que conhece o treinamento específico dos guarda-redes. Com esse apoio excepcional
do presidente, da sua família e de toda uma estrutura jovem do
clube e com muita vontade de trabalhar fomos fazendo o nosso
trabalho e fomos crescendo. Portanto, esse apoio galvanizou a
mim e à equipa e demos tudo pelo clube.
– Depois do mau começo da sua era não chegou de temer
um fracasso total que colocaria em causa o seu nome?
– Sinceramente falando, não. Eu tinha e tenho a consciência de
que as pessoas estavam habituadas a ver o Chiquinho Conde no
Desportivo, no Maxaquene e no Ferroviário de Maputo, enfim,
em grandes clubes, onde inclusive ganhei títulos. Fui campeão
nacional, vencedor da Taça de Moçambique, vencedor da Supertaça e tudo o que havia a ganhar no Ferroviário, pelo que é
óbvio que foi um choque para muita gente verem o Chiquinho a
optar pelo Vilankulo, um clube novo, apenas com dois anos no
Moçambola. Mas eu aprendi ao longo do tempo que temos que
tentar ganhar sempre, sobretudo em locais onde as pessoas menos
esperam. Essa foi mais uma motivação para aceitar abraçar este
projecto, mesmo sabendo que já tinha as malas preparadas para
regressar a Portugal para junto da minha família.
– Portanto, valeu a pena ter tomado esta opção?
– Valeu. É uma experiência nova. Conheci pessoas diferentes,
que lutam por um projecto diferente dos clubes onde já estive
inserido e acho que isso também enriquece um treinador. Como
no passado, aqui tentei superar as minhas capacidades e os meus
limites. Gosto de aprender todos os dias e aqui aprendi muito.
Hoje sinto-me mais treinador do que era antes e isso para mim é
impagável.
CONTRATO INÉDITO POR CINCO ANOS
– O Chiquinho renovou o contrato até 2016, com opção renovar por mais cinco anos. Como analisa este convite que o
Vilankulo FC lhe formulou, sobretudo nos termos em que ele
foi feito?
– Primeiro devo dizer que é uma proposta inédita no futebol
moçambicano. Dificilmente os clubes têm a percepção de fazer
um contrato a longo prazo com um treinador jovem. Isto significa
que o clube pretende crescer e eu também pretendo crescer com
o clube. Há uma empatia muito grande entre mim e o presidente
do clube e como tal não pensei duas vezes para aceitar o desafio.
A vila está a crescer, sobretudo por ser uma vila turística, e o
clube precisa de acompanhar esse crescimento. O presidente quer
crescer a passos seguros e eu estou convencidíssimo que iremos
com calma e tranquilidade potenciar os jogadores do Vilankulo.
– Isso é fundamental…
– De facto. É preciso apostar na formação e vamos introduzindo, paulatinamente, jogadores de Vilankulo porque é fundamental a vila ter jogadores nascidos aqui para sentirem a camisola.
Digo isto porque a maior parte dos jogadores são oriundos de
outras províncias, o que dificulta um pouco a identidade do clube.
Ainda bem que o Vilankulo está a criar bases para ter uma academia, porque isso vai permitir que, paulatinamente, descubramos jovens talentos de Vilankulo, que serão trabalhados e lançados. Paulatinamente, isto vai reduzir a dependência de jogadores
emprestados. O Vilankulo terá os seus próprios jogadores, embora isso não signifique que vai deixar de comprar. É um enorme
desafio. Estou satisfeito com ele e vou entrar envolvido de corpo

e alma. Eu recebi convites de outros clubes, mas estou a gostar
da experiência de Vilankulo e estou fascinado. Estou bem aqui.
Podemos fazer coisas bonitas e surpreender muita gente.
– Portanto, acredita que o Vilankulo, que próximo vai entrar no
terceiro ano consecutivo no Moçambola, veio para ficar e tem um
futuro risonho…
– Acredito muito. Acredito no clube, nos jogadores que estão
aqui e outros que virão para Vilankulo. Em relação aos que hãode vir devem estar conscientes que virão aqui para trabalhar, para
dar o máximo deles, potenciarem aquilo que têm de bom e de
melhor para enaltecerem esta província e esta vila, porque a meta
a breve trecho é chegar aos lugares cimeiros do Moçambola.
– Que sectores o Chiquinho Conde vai privilegiar em termos de reforços?
– É fundamental pensar que a equipa é feita de trás para frente.
Nós tivemos muitos problemas na defensiva, daí que tenhamos
sofrido muitos golos. Em 26 jogos a equipa fez 26 golos e sofreu
24, sendo de realçar que nos últimos três jogos não sofreu. Então,
a partir destes dados terei que equilibrar o sector defensivo. Mas
de uma forma geral vão aparecer novos guarda-redes, novos defesas, médios e avançados, de preferência jovens e com boa margem de progressão. O meu grande desafio vai ser de potenciar
esses jogadores. Quero que num curto espaço de tempo eles se
familiarizem com a minha maneira de trabalhar, com a minha
concepção do jogo para que, de facto, nós possamos levar este
barco a bom porto.
SOU UM TREINADOR BASTANTE AMBICIOSO
¬– Diz que os jogadores têm, sobretudo, que se familiarizar
com a sua forma de trabalhar e de concepção do jogo. Como é
que o Chiquinho gosta de trabalhar?
– Gosto de jogar em três sistemas: 4x2x3x1, 4x3x3 e 4x1x3x2.
Nós vamos usar fundamentalmente esses sistemas, mas vamos
trabalhar mais no 4x3x3 e, alternativamente, no 4x2x3x1. O outro
usaremos raramente. Portanto, vamos potenciar mais os extremos, jogando com um pivot defensivo e um ponta-de-lança.
– Como foi fixado o nível de progressão dos objectivos nesta

primeira leva do contrato?
– Nós vamos construir a equipa paulatinamente e no primeiro
ano não podemos estar abaixo do sétimo lugar. Depois vamos
procurar subir, no sentido de até 2015 lutarmos pelos títulos. Mas
eu sou um treinador ambicioso, pelo que a partir do próximo ano
vou tentar fazer o melhor possível. Se os jogadores que estão nos
meus planos puderem ser contratados, estou convencido de que
iremos fazer um bom campeonato.
– Portanto, comunga da aposta arrojada do presidente no sentido de se poder chegar ao título a breve trecho…
– Comungo. É bom ter essa perspectiva de ganhar. Eu quero incutir nos meus jogadores a necessidade de ganhar sempre.
Mesmo a feijões temos que ganhar. Esse espírito nasce-se com
ele, aprende-se e cultiva-se. O espírito ganhador faz bem. O clube
está a cultivar esse hábito de ganhar e nas conversas que tenho
tido com o presidente sinto essa preocupação. Já é bom que o
presidente tem essa postura, mas é preciso que toda a estrutura
do clube acompanhe essa cultura, para que o clube cresça. Há
que trabalhar com profissionalismo para alcançarmos as nossas
metas.
– Uma última palavra a massa associativa, por sinal das poucas
que sempre enchem os campos.
– Primeiro o meu muito obrigado pelo apoio e pela postura
com o público de Vilankulo acompanhou a equipa neste Moçambola. Nunca vi na rua ou no campo uma atitude menos boa dos
adeptos para com os jogadores ou equipa técnica. Antes pelo contrário sempre incentivaram-nos, sempre apoiaram-nos. Vai um
pedido para que continuemos unidos para podermos catapultar o
clube e sermos uma equipa forte. Vilankulo é uma vila pequena
e que muitos dos residentes são adeptos de outras equipas, mas
é fundamental que sempre que a equipa joga aqui todos vistam a
camisola do Vilankulo para a valorização da vila. Nós os técnicos
e jogadores faremos tudo o que estiver ao nosso alcance para elevarmos bem alto o nome de Vilankulo.

The club wants to

i want to grow with it
Chiquinho Conde is going to work and take a walk with marlin in the
heart, because of the fife years contract that has signed with Vilankulo
FC, with more fife optional years. The club has rewarded the coach with
a termination article of 300 thousand dollars, valid for foreign teams that
may eventually want to hire the coach during the course of this contact.
For national clubs, the article is not valid. Our magazine has spoken
to the coach, who does not only respond to this novel contract, he also
provides the summary of the season and shows His delight by Vilankulo.
Chiquinho Conde is a happy lucky man. Missing six rounds to the end
of Moçambola he was invited to take over the coach Abdul Omar, in a period where the matches had stopped to give place to the attainment of the
X Edition of African Games. He knew it was a big challenge, however, he
accepted and, today, he is making a positive balance of the six rounds that
were under his responsibility. He thinks he met in him the right people to
help to build up a team for the future.
The president of the club, Yassin Amuji, who supports a sustainable development, he believes he has hired the right person to help him to build
up a team for the future. In this respect, he made a novel proposal to the
former Mozambican International, so that he signs a contract of fife years
with more four optional years.
Without blinking, Chiquinho accepted and the parts are happy to begin
a new season which is expected to make Vilankulo grow and its people.
Chiquinho says that is fascinated by the Project and he believes that will
help Vilankulo to grow and, indirectly he will also grow with the club.
Without delay, let’s move onto the interview with the ex-captain of
Mambas, who in His green years in the carrier of coach – which made
him scale up in Desportivo, Maxaquene and Ferroviário de Maputo – he
was champion and winner of the Cup of Mozambique and the super cup.
YOU DID NOT IMAGINE IT WOULD BE SO DIFFICULT LIKE
THIS
– A victory in the last round of Moçambola, surprisingly for the third
consecutive time. Wasn’t there any other way to determine the season…
– Without doubt, mainly after a very difficult period for the club and
for the players, who were dealing with coaches with completely different
training methodologies. That confused the athletes and it did not help a
lot in order to have a good championship. Vilankulo is a young team. In
the last season it was considered team revelation, it was finalist of the cup
and if I am not mistaken, ended with 34 points, on the seventh position
and that was my particular motivation to try to enter again to the final of
the cup. Unfortunately we did not succeed. After that, there were rumours
about the possibility of Vilankulo going down of the division after those
three consecutive defeat, what introduced a lot of changes in the club and
in the team, but the players had given good results and succeed to win
the three last games and guarantee the maintenance, overcoming, exclusively, the 34 points of the last season.
– When you were invited missing six rounds to the end, did you imagine that the level of challenges would be more intense?
– No. Frankly speaking, no. I already knew the team of Vilankulo and I
was sure that I would do a tranquil championship, but issues of internal
or external football forums have contributed in a sense that things did
not go very well. They were all psychologically tranquil that affected all
the working group and it did not help a lot the players to be calm, in the
worse situation, they were in short number, with 22 players, where three
were goalkeepers, so with less options for the coach. After that was a
total break in the coaching methodologies and the players had to make
every effort to understand my coaching methodology, the conception of
the game, anyway, a process that always takes some time. But at the end
we were all happy because we succeed to achieve our main goals, which
consisted of maintaining and overcome the score of the last year.
–The fact of not having a possibility to require the reinforcement of
the team, taking into consideration the time you arrived, have played a
wrong role?
– Yes, it’s always difficult for a coach to deal with players he doesn’t
know, but I was lucky to have a period of 45 to get to know them, once
the competitions had stopped. So, these days were not enough to identify
myself with them and they identify themselves with me. I knew some players that had already worked with me, that’s the case of Jaimito, Matlombe
and Félix, this last two had been put in the market by me since junior
of Maxaquene, but despite that, many years have passed and, as I said,

there was a breaking in the coaching methodology. Obviously, not being
with players who I trust, whose know the way I work, everything was
complicated. Despite the fact, was a good experience and we overcame
the challenges.

THE SUPPORT OF THE PRESIDENT WAS DETERMINATIVE
– In this season, what weapons have you used to face the adversities?
– First I had to count with the sensitivity of the president, who is an
open person. He let me bring a young coach to work as my deputy. Gave
permission to recruit a trainer of goal keepers, something that does not
exist here but is important, because the goal keepers hold a specific position and they must be trained by someone who knows the specific coaching for them. With this exceptional support of the president, his family and
all young body of the club and with much will to work we did our job and
we grew. So, this support has energised me and to the team, and both, we
gave all for the club.
– After a bad start in your era, didn’t you fear a total failure that
would put your name in danger?
– Frankly speaking, no. I was and I am aware that people were used
to see Chiquinho Conde in Desportivo, Maxaquene and Ferroviário de
Maputo, basically, in big clubs, places where I also won some titles. I
was national champion, winner of Mozambican Cup, winner of super cup
and everything that had to be won in Ferroviário, and obviously, it was a
big surprise for many people who saw Chiquinho opting for Vilankulo, a
new club, with only two years in Moçambola. But through all this process
I have learnt that we have always try to win, basically in situations that
people less expect. That was the motivation that led me to embrace this
project, even knowing that I was ready to back to Portugal close to my
family.
– So, was it worthwhile for you for having taken such decision?
– Yes. It’s a new experience. I knew different people that fought for a
different Project of the clubs where they were working and I believe that
this behaviour enriches a coach. As in the past, I here tried to overcome
my capacities and limits. I like to learn everyday and here, I have learnt a
lot. Today I feel a stronger coach than before and that has no price for me.
FIVE-YEAR NOVEL CONTRACT
− You renewed a contract that extends to 2016, how do you feel about
this offer that Vilankulo FC proposed you, particularly with regard to
the terms underlying it?
− First I should say that it is an unusual proposal in our context. The
clubs hardly offer such a long-term contract with a young coach. This is
a clear sign that the club is willing to grow professionally and I will grow
alongside it. I have a good relationship with the president of the club and
for that reason I accepted the offer forthwith. The village is developing,
mainly due to its touristic attraction, and the club needs to follow suit.
The president needs to ensure a safe growth and I undoubtedly convinced
that together we will, very smoothly, enhance the skills of its soccer players.
–That is fundamental…
− Definitely. It is absolutely necessary to focus on the training of players, and then we will gradually hire local players because we feel that it
is crucial to allow players who were born locally so that they will bear a
sense of belonging. I say so because the great bulk of players is from other
provinces, a fact that is hostile to the identity of the club. It is a good thing
that the club undertaking to own an academy because that will, slowly,
allow us to spot talented local players who will be well trained and given
opportunity to play. That will gradually reduce the dependency on borrowed players. Vilankulo Club will own its own players, although that
will not put an end to new contracts. It is a huge challenge. I feel good
about the club and I will fully devote to it. I was also invited by other

clubs, but I am both impressed fascinated with Vilankulo´s experience.
I feel good here. We are capable of achieving good results and impress
many people.
–You, therefore, firmly believe that Vilankulo, which for the third consecutive year will compete in Moçambola, will stay put in it and will have
a brighter future…
− I very much believe so. I believe in the club, in the now present players and the forthcoming ones. With regard to the yet to come players, they
should bear in mind that they will be coming here for hard work, to give
their best, to enhance the skills they already have as well as to honor this
province and this village, for our short-term goal is reach the high ranking positions of Moçambola.
–What field positions call for more attention in terms of reinforcements?
– It is crucial to note that a team is set from the back frontwards. We
had a lot of problems at the back which accounts for an awful lot of goals
were suffered. Out of the 26 matches our team scored 26 goals and suffered 24, noting that in the last three matches we suffered none. Judging
from these facts, I will have to strengthen the backfield. In overall, new
goal keepers, defensive players, midfielders and attackers will emerge,
preferably young players with a good progression rate. My greatest challenge is to empower those players. In short-term, I want them to adapt to
my training methods, to copy with the way I set the game, so as to attain
good results.
I AM A VERY AMBITIOUS COACH
– When you say that the players have to adapt to your training methods, as well as to copy with the way you set the game, how do you exactly
like to work?
– I like to play in three strategies: 4x2x3x1, 4x3x3 e 4x1x3x2. We will
basically use these three strategies, but more frequently with the 4x3x3
and with the 4x2x3x1 as an alternative. The 4x1x3x2 will barely be used.
We will, therefore, boost the ends playing with a defensive pivot and one
attacker.
– How is the contract´s goals graded in this first round of the contract?
– We will, gradually, build up a team along the first year aiming to stick
in the top seven teams. Then we will keep up straggling for the podium
until 2015. I am an ambitious coach and from next year onwards I will do
my best. If the players I intend to have eventually sign with, us I sure we
will have a remarkable championship.
– So, you agree with the president´s ambitious plan to claim for the title
in a short-term period…
– I do agree. It is good to wish to win. I want to instill the need of always wining into my players. We have to win no matter what. The spirit
of wining is inborn, learnt and cultivated. The wining spirit is fit. The
club is instilling on this wining habit and I can feel its full force from the
chats I have been having with the president of the club. The president´s
confidence is encouraging, but the entire club should also have this bearing because it is crucial for its growth. Professionalism will lead us to
the goals.
– Any last words to the fans, notably the few who flock to the pitch.
– First I express my gratitude towards the public of Vilankulo for the
support and sympathy given to the team in this Moçambola. I have never
seen a bad attitude from the fans towards the players or the technical
team Quite the contrary, they always encouraged and supported us. I
appeal for continuous union for the growth of the club and professionalism of the team. Vilankulo is a small village and many local residents are
fans of other teams, but it is important that whenever we play everybody
wears our team jersey to honour the village. We, the delegation and the
players, will do whatever we can to elevate the name of Vilankulo beyond
imagining.

Com vista a explicar as motivações que estiveram por detrás da assinatura de
um contrato de longo termo com Chiquinho Conde, Yassin Amuji, patrono do
clube, teve uma breve conversa com a nossa reportagem.
– Acaba de renovar o contrato com o técnico Chiquinho Conde por cinco
anos, com mais cinco de opção. Significa claramente que está satisfeito com o
trabalho feito por ele na ponta final do campeonato?
– Com certeza que estamos satisfeitos com o trabalho realizado, Chiquinho
enquadrou-se perfeitamente no nosso projecto futurista.
– Qual foi a motivação para rubricar este contrato inédito com Chiquinho
Conde?
– A primeira motivação foi por ele ser um treinador à imagem do Vilankulo FC.
Nós estamos a construir um clube inovador e humilde e o Chiquinho enquadra-se
perfeitamente naquilo que são os nossos projectos. Aliás, ele também sabe perfeitamente por que é que aceitou este desafio. Em Vilankulo ele não só encontrou
dirigentes desportivos jovens, como também uma família que trabalha em torno
do clube. Todos os dirigentes, funcionários e colaboradores deste clube funcionam como uma família única e unida e queremos transmitir isto ao país. Queremos adeptos do Rovuma ao Maputo para se juntarem a esta nossa família que só
traz inovações no futebol moçambicano.
– A equipa técnica será reforçada, ou vai ser a mesma?
– Vamos continuar com o Victor como adjunto e o Efraime como treinador de
guarda-redes. Nada vai mudar. Acreditamos que já temos os treinadores ideais
que procurávamos.
– Que balanço faz da época que acabou de terminar?
– No campeonato foi positivo. Conquistámos mais um ponto que na época passada, apesar de que poderíamos ter feito mais. Na taça caímos onde não devíamos
ter caído, nos quartos-de-final, mas se até o Manchester United é eliminado nos
quartos-de-final duma taça, quem somos nós…, são coisas do futebol.
– Em termos de metas, em que estágio quer ver o Vilankulo FC até ao fim
da vigência do contrato de Chiquinho Conde?
– O contrato está claro. Não há pressão para o treinador. Terá todo o tempo
para em 2014 colocar este clube como um dos grandes do Moçambola. A nível
de gestão desportiva já provámos que somos grandes, faltando, agora, demonstrar
isso dentro das quatro linhas. Se Deus quiser, em 2014 lutaremos pelo título. É um
processo e um trabalho que está a ser feito com toda a cautela possível.
In order to account for the reasons behind the signature of a long-term contract
with Chiquinho Conde, Yassin Amuji, the owner of the club, held a short briefing
with our crew.
– You have just renewed a five-year contract with Chiquinho Conde, with five
more optional years. Does this clearly mean that you are pleased with his job in
the final stage of the championship?
– Surely we are happy with the job he has done. Chiquinho fitted in perfectly
to our futurist project.
– What encouraged you to sign this unusual contract with Chiquinho Conde?
– The first reason was the fact that he is a coach fit for the purpose of Vilankulo
FC. We are building up an innovative and humble club and Chiquinho Conde
matches perfectly to our projects. Besides, he knows deeply why he undertook this
challenge. In Vilankulo not only did he find young sports managers, but he also
found a family working for the club. All the managers, officials and collaborators
form this club work in unison as a family and we want the country to know that.
We want to attract fans from Rovuma to Maputo to this family which brings about
innovations to the football of Mozambique.
– Is the technical team going to be reinforced, or it will remain as it is?
– We will keep Victor as an assistant coach and Efraime as the goal keeper´s
coach. Nothing will change. We believe we already have the right coaches we
were looking for.
– What do you think about the season that has just ended?
– The championship was positive. We score one more point last season, but we
feel we could have done more than that. During the cup we fell at a critical stage,
in the quarterfinals, but even Manchester United may be eliminated in the quarterfinals of a cup, still we are far worse than it…, this is typical of football contest.
– As far as the contract´s goals are concerned, what are your expectations
for the Vilankulo FC in terms of their fulfillment until the end of the contract
of Chiquinho Conde?
– The contract is clear. There is no pressure for the coach. He will have plenty
of time to turn the club into one of the best in Moçambola until 2014. In terms of
management, we have proved to be efficient and we will consolidate it in contest.
In 2014 we will fight for the title, God willing. It is a process and a job being done
with the utmost care.

Tendai marca golo100 do Moçambola
Tendai scores goal 100 of Moçambola
O avançado zimbabweano do Vilankulo Futebol Clube, Gwata
Tendai, contratado mesmo em cima da data limite de inscrição,
fez dois golos no jogo com o Matchedje, que o Vilankulo FC
venceu por 4-1. O segundo golo do avançado ao serviço do clube
valeu a marca de golo 100 do Moçambola 2011.
O centésimo golo surgiu a concluir um passe do seu colega
Belo, que ganhou a bola no meio-campo e rasgou para o ataque.
Tendai rematou em arco de fora da grande área, e o guarda-redes
do Matchedje nem chegou a ensaiar o exercício de defesa.
O facto ficou despercebido a muita gente, mas fica partilhado,
aqui, esta curiosa marca, que fez com que Tendai ficasse, assim,
registado na história dos golos curiosos do Moçambola 2011.
De referir que quando faltava três jornadas para o final da prova
Tendai tinha sete golos marcados, contra 10 de David, primeiro
classificado.
The Zimbabwean attacker of Vilankulo FC, Gwata Tendai,
found on the verge of the registration date, scored two goals in
the match against Matchedje, in which Vilankulo FC won for 4-1.
The second score of this attacker serving for the club, accounted
for goal 100 of Moçambola 2011.
The hundredth goal was a finalization of a pass from his partner Belo, who got the ball in the mild- field and ran to attack. Tendai kicked the ball in an arc outside the great penalty area, and
Matchedje’s goal keeper did not even try a defensive movement.
This fact was not perceived by many people, but it is hereby
shared that this curious goal allowed Tendai to be registered in
the history of the unusual goals of Moçambola 2011.
It is important to point out that at three rounds of the end of the
completion Tandai had scored 7 goals, against the 10 of David,
who was the first classified.

Belo muda-se para a Liga Muçulmana
Belo moves to Liga Muçulmana
A direcção do Vilankulo FC confirmou que Juvêncio Belo Mutisse vai representar a Liga Muçulmana na próxima temporada.
Belo estava vinculado aos marlins desde 2009 e tinha um contrato até Dezembro 2012.
O extremo esquerdo é considerado um dos jogadores mais rápidos do Moçambola e era cobiçado por alguns clubes de Moçambique, como Maxaquene, Costa do Sol e Ferroviário de Maputo.
O Vilankulo FC vai encaixar um valor que ronda entre os
trezentos mil meticais e vai continuar com 20% do passe do atleta.
Apesar de em termos documentais tudo estar já final¬izado, a
transferência só será consumada no dia 31 de Dezembro de 2011.
The board of Vilankulo FC confirmed that Junvêncio Belo Mutisse will be playing for Liga Muçulmana next season. Belo has
been bound to the marlins since 2009 and his contract would
expire in December 2012.
The outside left player is one of the fastest players in Moçambola and was longed for by some clubs of Mozambique, such as
Maxaquene, Costa do Sol and Ferroviário de Maputo.
Vilankulo FC will fix a fee of about thirteen thousands meticais
and still keep 20% of the deal.
Although the paper work has been finalized, the transfer will

Gitinho assina por mais duas épocas
Gitinho signs for two more seasons
Jorge Filipe Dimande, mais conhecido por Gitinho, renovou durante o
mês de Junho o seu contrato por mais duas épocas, até 31 de Dezembro
de 2013. Gitinho tinha um contrato válido até Dezembro da presente
época, mas optou por dar continuidade à sua carreira no Vilankulo FC
por ter a certeza que está no clube certo. O novo contrato tem uma cláusula de rescisão de 950,000.00MT
– “Quando assinei por este clube em Janeiro de 2011 e o presidente
falou-me dos projectos do clube, por uns instantes pensei que fosse mais
um clube com histórias, mas acabei vendo que estou no clube certo, um
clube que sabe o que quer e onde quer chegar” comentou Gitinho.
Gitinho acrescentou ainda que o presidente Yassin Amuji tem directores competentes que olham para os interesses do clube.
– “Está rodeado de gente competente”, acrescentou Gitinho.
Por sua vez, Emílio Macura, aquele que é considerado o segundo
homem do Vilankulo FC, Director Desportivo, disse que o VFC fará os
possíveis para manter todos os jogadores que fazem parte dos planos do
clube.
Macura acrescentou que o clube já tem assegurado os passes dos seguintes atletas até Dezembro 2012: Titos, Félio, Edgar, Gonçalves, Joe,
Jossias, Bila, Belo, Kadr, Martinho, Sergito e Ngenha.
Estes jogadores encontram-se vinculados ao Vilankulo Futebol Clube
desde 2009.
Relativamente aos restantes atletas, Macura disse que estão criadas as
condições para que os atletas renovem os contratos, as infelizmente há
clubes que têm aliciado os atletas a não renovarem.
– “Alguns clubes até incentivam os atletas a rescindir os seus contratos. Estranhamente, temos tido alguns atletas com esse interesse, alguns
dos quais têm contratos até Dezembro 2012, mas nós não vamos recuar.
O clube que quiser um jogador do Vilankulo FC vai ter que pagar. Ou
estamos a profissionalizar o futebol moçambicano ou vamos continuar
na sombra por mais tempo”, comentou o Director Desportivo em forma
de desabafo.

it was one more club with stories, but then, I realized that I am in the
right club, a club that knows what it wants and where it intends to
get’’, commented Gitinho.
Gitinho has also said that the president, Yassin Amuji, has competent directors who focus on the clubs objectives.
– “He Is sorrounded by competent people’’ added Gitinho.
In his turn, Emílio Macura, who is the Sports Director and regarded
as the second man of Vilankulo FC, said that VFC will do its best to
keep all the players who are part of the club’s plan.
Macura, added that the club has already assured the maintenance of
the following players up to December 2012: Titos, Félio, Edgar, Gonçalves, Joe, Jossias, Bila, Belo, Kadr, Martinho, Sergito e Ngenha.
These players are engaged to Vilankulo Football Club since 2009.
In relation to the other athletes, Macura said that the conditions for
them to renew their contracts have been created; unfortunately there
are some clubs which entice the athletes not to do so.
– “Some of the clubs even encourage the athletes to resign from
their contracts. Strangely, we have some athletes who show this interest, some of them have contracts up to December 2012. We will not
draw back. The club which needed a player from Vilankulo FC will
have to pay. Either we are professionalising Mozambican football or
we will remain under the shadow for quite some time’’, commented the
sports director in some way of a relief.

desportiva. Agora foi a vez da Taça Fair Play Sidat Sport, que
se realizou de 14 a 18 de Setembro, no Estádio Municipal de
Vilankulo, envolvendo as equipas do Vilankulo FC, Maxaquene,
Liga Muçulmana e Ferroviário da Beira.
O torneio, ganho pelo Ferroviário da Beira e que teve o
Vilankulo como segundo classificado, provocou um movimento
desusado na Vila e interessa realçar que o torneio foi desenhado
para não deixar as equipas paradas com a realização dos Jogos
Africanos, que decorreram em Maputo, entre 3 e 18 de Setembro.
A Direcção do Vilankulo FC fez de tudo para os adeptos da
terra se deslocarem em massa ao Estádio Municipal e tor¬nar o
evento uma verdadeira festa. Para isso, havia sido criado um spot
publicitário que passou diariamente na Televisão de Moçambique
para atrair o público em massa a Vila de Vilanku¬lo, um dos pontos atractivos de África mais procurados pelos turistas tanto nacionais como estrangeiros.
O Ferroviário da Beira terminou a prova em primeiro lugar
com 7 pontos, seguido pelo Vilankulo FC. O Maxaquene e a Liga
Muçulmana somaram apenas dois pontos.
Deste modo, aos locomotivas beirenses coube-lhes a quantia de
5.000 dólares, ao Vilankulo foram lhe atribuídos 2500 dólares e
os dois últimos classificados, por terem terminado em igualdade
de circunstância receberam cada um 1250 dólares americanos.

Televisão de Moçambique (Television of Mozambique) to massively attract the public to Vilankulo Village, one of the most attractive places of Africa being sought by national and international tourists.
Ferroviário da Beira ended the competition in the first position
with 7 points, followed by Vilankulo FC. Maxaquene and Liga
Muçulmana only got two points.
In this way the locomotivas from Beira got 5.000 USD, and
Vilankulo was given 2500 USD and both the last classified teams
received the amount of 1250 USD each for being in the same
position.

Meta é alimentar os seniores
com o produto da Escola VFC

A Escola do Vilankulo, que em termos efectivos deve arrancar
em Fevereiro, vai passar a ser coordenada por Victor Mayamba,
técnico-adjunto de Chiquinho Conde nos seniores. Ele substitui
Rogério Mariannii, que vai para uma formação de treinadores na
Europa.
Victor Espera valer-se da experiência colhida durante mais de
uma década dedicada aos escalões de formação, período durante o qual defendeu emblemas como o Mahafil, Alto-Maé, Liga
Muçulmana, Académica, Costa do Sol, Ferroviário de Maputo,
ante de ir para a Vilankulo.
A nossa revista conversou com Mayamba, com o fito de colher
o seu sentimento face as novos desafios que se lhe colocam pela
frente.
Sigam-nos!
– Como é que se sente face ao facto de ter sido escolhido para
substituir o Rogério Mariannii na Academia do Vilankulo?
– Penso que é mais um desafio. Sou um treinador jovem. Quando abracei esta carreira de treinador sempre tive em mente que
havia de enfrentar muitos desafios pela frente. Portanto, quando
o presidente Yassin Amuji me abordou aceitei com naturalidade e
só-me resta ir ao terreno e trabalhar.
– Quais vão ser as suas atribuições na Academia?
– Vou coordenar toda a estrutura do futebol de formação e fazer
o acompanhamento dos monitores que estarão afectos às equipas
da academia, nomeadamente Infantis, Iniciados, Juvenis e Juniores. Cabe a mim também traçar as linhas em termos de metodologia de treinamento. Pretendemos que o clube tenha um modelo de
formação, que facilitará o enquadramento dos jogadores quando
atingirem a idade sénior.
– Em termos de objectivos o que é que está definido e quais são
as metas traçadas a breve e a longo termos?
– O presidente disse-nos para traçarmos um plano de longo
prazo, para que daqui a cinco anos tenhamos cinquenta porcento
dos jogadores da equipa principal vindos da academia. Portanto,
é nesta perspectiva que vamos trabalhar e penso que isso vai ser
possível.
– Os jogadores vão estar em regime de internato ou de externato?
– Neste momento está-se no processo da construção da academia, pelo que numa primeira fase ainda funcionaremos em
regime de externato, até que as condições estejam criadas para
os jogadores viverem lá. Nessa fase faremos uma pesquisa e selecção dos melhores para viverem na academia. A selecção será
em Vilankulo, mas também noutras províncias, incluindo Maputo.
– A primeira equipa da academia a entrar em actividade foram
os juniores. Como avalia o desempenho deles?
– Eles fizeram um bom campeonato provincial e penso que no
futuro vai-se fazer um trabalho bem direccionado para que o desempenho da equipa de juniores reflicta aquilo que é a filosofia da
formação do Vilankulo. Dentro de dias vai entrar no Campeonato
Nacional e penso que vai dar o melhor de si.
PERFIL
– Como é que o Victor aparece no desporto?
– Entro para o desporto como praticante de futebol, no Mahafil.
Sempre ambicionei ser um grande jogador. Fiz a minha formação
no Mahafil. Quando era juvenil já jogava na equipa sénior, orientada pelo mister Sacur, onde tive a felicidade de jogar com Zainadine, Cassimito e Leonardo que já estavam em finais de carreira.
Infelizmente tive um acidente que me impossibilitou de continuar
com a carreira. Sempre fui um líder nas camadas de formação e,
por isso, o mister Sacur achou que eu tinha capacidade de lider-

ança e aconselhou-me a abraçar a carreira de treinador.
– E nascia um treinador…
– Sim. Comecei logo por orientar os infantis do Mahafil, em
1995, em substituição de um colega, o Guilherme, que estava internado. Foi a minha primeira experiência. Depois criei a minha
própria equipa, que inclusive sagrou-se campeã nacional de futebol de praia, em femininos. Chamava-se Carocel de Chamanculo. Depois disso formei uma equipa masculina, donde saíram
jogadores como Momed Haji e Félio. Só que o Carocel não podia se inscrever na Associação de Futebol da Cidade de Maputo
(AFCM) porque não tinha estatutos.
– E como é que resolveu a questão?
– Juntámo-nos ao Mahafil para aproveitarmos os estatutos do
clube e a equipa passou a chamar-se Carocel do Mahafil. Com
esse nome movimentámos infantis e iniciados. No ano seguinte,
quando a equipa subiu para os juvenis, perdi o meu patrocinador
e assim a equipa passou toda ela para o Mahafil. Guardo gratas
recordações do Carocel, mas já não havia condições para manter
a equipa.
– Mais adiante o que é que aconteceu?
– Em 2003, o senhor Jasse leva-me para o Alto-Maé. Ele tinha
um projecto de formação e trabalhei com infantis e iniciados.
Em 2004 fomos campeões nos dois escalões e ganhámos todas
as competições que se organizaram nessa época. Foi numa altura
em que a AFCM não organizava campeonatos desses escalões,
razão pela qual as provas eram entre equipas. Depois passei para
os juvenis do Alto-Maé, onde trabalhei com um grande treinador,
o Nunes Tembe.
– Daí passa para a Liga Muçulmana?
– Exacto, isto em 2006. Na Liga trabalhei com os juniores. Foi
no ano em que surgiu o Telinho, que hoje está na equipa sénior.
Depois, em 2007, saí para a Académica. Orientei os juniores e fiz
um grande campeonato. Tive a felicidade de, nesse ano, atletas
por mim treinadores passarem para equipas seniores, casos do
Manecas que está no Chingale. Da Académica fui contratado pelo
Costa do Sol, onde fiquei duas épocas (2008 e 2009). Do Costa
do Sol mudo-me para o Ferroviário de Maputo, donde saio para
o Vilankulo FC.
– Uma larga experiência de formação que poderá ser útil para
o Vilankulo…
– Penso que sim, até porque ao longo do percurso trabalhei
com grandes líderes. Além daqueles que mencionei, trabalhei
com o mister Alcides Chambal no Costa do Sol. Ele era meu coordenador e trabalhava em estreia ligação comigo, já que eu era
treinador dos juniores e acabava respondendo pelos meus colegas abaixo do meu escalão. No Ferroviário também aconteceu o
mesmo. Tive a felicidade de trabalhar com o mister Amad Chababe Amad. Ele era meu coordenador e sempre depositou muita
confiança em mim, de tal modo que na sua ausência confiou-me a
coordenação dos trabalhos.
– Na Academia do Vilankulo já têm o projecto desenhado ou
vão ter que começar do zero?
– Já existia um plano, só que é anual. Há uma necessidade de
estender o plano para responder a um ciclo de cinco anos. O plano
tem que ser de continuidade para podermos alcançar os objectivos principais da academia que, como disse, passam por fornecer

50 porcento dos jogadores à equipa principal.
– Está satisfeito com as condições que o Vilankulo FC lhe proporciona?
– Acho que as condições estão criadas. Temos campo e material de trabalho, a academia está em construção. Acredito que o
Vilankulo está a fazer um projecto de futuro com tudo para dar
certo.
– Quais são os seus sonhos na carreira?
– Eu prefiro dar tempo ao tempo. No Ferroviário estava a fazer
o meu sexto ano a treinar os juniores, mas apareceu esta proposta
para ser treinador-adjunto de seniores. Espero ir ganhando mais
experiência com o mister Chiquinho. Vou cumprir os cinco anos
do presente contrato e o futuro é que dirá o que acontecerá depois.
– A terminar?
– Gostaria de agradecer à direcção do Vilankulo FC pela confiança depositada em mim. Agradeço também ao mister Chiquinho
Conde que acreditou em mim e puxou-me para trabalhar com ele.
Vai ser difícil gratificá-lo pela confiança depositada em mim e
farei tudo o que estiver ao meu alcance para não decepcioná-lo.

Our goal is to produce senior
players from the Escola VFC
The Academy of Vilankulo will definitely start in February
and it will be coordinated by Victor Mayamba, deputy coach of
Chiquinho Conde in the senior team. He has replaced Rogério
Mariannii, who is going for a coach training in Europe.
Victor expects to make the most of the experience gained
for more than a decade dedicated for training levels, a period
through which he defended emblems such as Mahafil, Alto-Maé,
Liga Muçulmana, Académica, Costa do Sol, Ferroviário de Maputo, before he moves to Vilankulo.
Our magazine has spoken to Mayamba in order to get his opinions regarding the new challenges that he is going to face ahead.

– How do you feel for the fact of having been elected to substitute Rogério Mariannii in the Academy of Vilankulo?
– I think is one more challenge. I am a young coach. When I
decided to pursue this carrier I had in mind that I would face
challenges ahead. So, when the president Yassin Amuji has asked
me to join his club I accepted with naturalness and all I have to
do is to go to the field and work.
– What will be your attributions in the Academy?
– I will coordinate all the football body of the team and do the
follow-up of the monitors that will be working with the teams in
the Academy. Its up to me as well to define the training methodology. We intend to have a training model that is suitable for the
players when they reach the level of senior.
– In terms of objectives, what has been defined and what are
the target goals in short and long term?
– The president has told us to develop a long term plan, so that
in five years we have fifty percent of payers of the main team coming from the Academy. Thus, we are working in this perspective
and I think we will make it.
–Will the players be in internship or external ship regime?
– At the moment we are in the process of building up the Academy, thus, in the first stage, we are going to work in external
ship regime, until all conditions are created for the players to live
there. In this stage we are going to conduct a survey and select
the best to live in the Academy. The selection will be made in
Vilankulo and in other provinces as well, including Maputo.
– The Juniors was the first team of the Academy to start performing. How do you assess their performance?
– They have done a good provincial championship and I think
that in the future we are going to focus on working so that the
performance of the junior team reflects the philosophy of the
Vilankulo team. In few days is going to enter in the National
Championship and I think that is going to give its best.
Profile
– How did you appear on sport?
– I started sport as a football player, in Mahafil. I have always
set-out with the aim of becoming a great player. When I was still
a young player I already played in senior team, coached by Sacur,
in which I had the opportunity to play with Zainadine, Cassimito
and Leonardo who were already at the end of their carriers. Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident in which I was disabled
to carry on with my carrier. I have always been a leader in the
training levels that is why coach Sacur thought that I had leadership abilities, and advised me to pursue the carrier of coach.
– And became a coach....
– Yes. I started coaching Mahafil’s young players in 1995, replacing my colleague Guilherme who had been admitted to hospital. It was my first experience. Then, I made my own team which
became the champion in the national beach football, in female.
The team was called Carocel de Chamanculo. After that, I made
a male’s team from which raised up the players like Momed Haji
and Félio. But Carocel could not be registered in Maputo City
Football Association ( MCFA) because had not the statutes.
– How did you settle the problem?
– We joined Mahafil to take the advantage of the club’s statutes

and from then the team became Carocel de Mahafil. With this
name we trained the children. In the following year, when the
team ascended to the youth, I lost my sponsor and the whole team
was transferred to Mahafil. I have good memories of Carocel, but
there were no more conditions to support the team.
– What happened then?
– In 2003, mister Jasse took me to Alto-Maé. He had a training
project and I worked with infants and beginners. In 2004 we were
champion in both levels and we won all the competitions organized in that season. It was at the time the MCFA did not organize
these levels of championships, the reason why the competitions
were among the teams. After that I worked with a great coach,
Nunes Tembe, in Alto-Maé’s juveniles.
– Then you passed to Liga Muçulmana?
– Exactly, in 2006 I worked with juniors in Liga Muçulmana.
That was the time when Telinho, who is now in the senior team,
appeared. Then in 2007 I went to Académica where I coached the

juniors and I had a great championship. And I was lucky because
all the players I trained passed to the seniors, as is in the case of
Manecas who is in Chingale. From Académica I went to Costa
do Sol, where I spent two seasons (2008 and 2009). From Costa
do Sol, I shifted to Ferroviário de Maputo, from where I came to
Vilankulo FC.
– A wide training experience that may be relevant for Vilankulo…
– I think there is, basically all along my carrier I have worked
with big leaders. Despite all those I have mentioned, I have
worked with the coach Alcides Chambal in Costa do Sol. He was
my coordinator and he worked closely with me, once I was junior
coach, I ended being responsible for my colleagues in other lower
teams. In Ferroviário happened the same. I was lucky to work
with the coach Amad Chababe Amad. He was my coordinator
and he always trusted me in a sense that when he was absent, he
entrusted me the coordination of the Job.
– In the Academy of Vilankulo, have you developed a Project
or you will have to start from beginning?
– There was already an annual plan. There is a need of broadening the plan so that it covers the period of five years. It must be
a continuing plan so as we achieve the main goals of the Academy, and as I said, to provide the 50 percent of the players to the
main team.
– Are you happy with the conditions that Vilankulo FC offers
you?
– I think all conditions are provided. We have got a field and
material to work and the Academy is under construction. I believe that Vilankulo is making a project for the future with everything to achieve the goals.
– What are your carrier dreams?
– I prefer to give time to time. In Ferroviário I was in my sixth
year training the junior team, and then came this proposal to be a
deputy coach of the Vilankulo’s senior team. I expect to get more
experience with the coach Chiquinho. I will work the five years
of the present contract and the time will tell what will come next.
– To end?
– I would like to thank the board of the Vilankulo FC for the
trust they have on me. I also thank the coach Chiquinho Conde
who puts faith on me and invited me to work with him. It will be
difficult to reward him for the trust he has on me and I will do my
best not to disappoint him.

Desta vez fomos até aos quartos-de-final
Este ano o périplo pela Taça de Moçambique, segunda maior
competição do país, foi interrompido nos quartos-de-final, estágio em que o Vilankulo FC fez de tudo para continuar na prova,
porém perdendo o jogo apenas no desempate por pontapés da
marca de grande penalidade.
O felizardo foi o Ferroviário de Maputo, equipa que o Vilankulo eliminou na época passada, tendo ganho por cinco bolas a três,
depois de ter terminado o período regulamentar e o prolongamento com um teimoso nulo a prevalecer no placard.
Nessa sempre imprevisível lotaria das grandes penalidades, os
cinco jogadores escolhidos por Nacir Armando converteram todos, a saber: Whisk, Edgar, Sonito, Zabula e Cissoco. Pela banda
dos anfitriões, Tendai, Matlombe e Bila atingiram o alvo, mas
quando Sadique permitiu a defesa de Pinto foi o fim!
A primeira parte teve duas oportunidades repartidas, Sonito
e Luís remataram de cabeça para defesa tranquila de Jaimito.
Sadique e Gitinho viram os seus remates a morrerem nas mãos
de Mohamed. Ainda na primeira parte, o jogo teve muitas paragens, pois, a dado momento viveu-se alguma virilidade dentro
das quatro linhas.
No período complementar, Chiquinho Conde exigiu aos seus
pupilos mais calma e que jogassem mais com a cabeça do que
com o coração, uma intenção que não surtiu os efeitos desejados,
porque o Ferroviário de Maputo chegou a assaltar o meio-campo
devido à imobilidade de Jossias, no coração do campo. Whisky
e Buramo, com apoio de Tchitcho, tentaram empurrar a equipa
para a frente, onde Sonito e Luís não tinham espaço de manobra.
Chiquinho Conde, vendo-se à nora, mexeu no xadrez. Chamou
Sergito, Eurico e Gonçalves, tendo conseguido parar o ímpeto
avassalador dos “locomotivas”.
No prolongamento, as duas equipas não se arriscavam ao
ataque. Notou-se a preferência na marca de grandes penalidades,
tendo Nacir Armando operado a última substituição do jogo, tirando Mohamed e colocando Pinto na baliza, que acabou salvando a equipa, ao defender um penalte do Vilankulo.
EIS O PERCURSO DO VILANKULO
O Vilankulo FC começou a disputa da Edição 2011 da Taça de
Moçambique nas meias-finais da fase regional, a 2 de Junho, altura em que se deslocou ao terreno da Liga Muçulmana da Maxixe, a quem foi vencer por 2-0, passando a final.
O adversário que lhe surgiu pela frente foi a Associação Desportiva da Maxixe, mas desta vez em Vilankulo, isto a 5 de Junho.
Os marlins tiveram um jogo bastante difícil, mas saíram do estádio sorridentes, na medida em que haviam ganho por tangencial
mas precioso 1-0, garantindo o acesso à fase nacional.
Neste estágio (oitavos-de-final), as bolinhas da sorte colocaram
no caminho dos marlins o Djuba FC, da província de Maputo, que
teve uma deslocação para esquecer a Vilankulo, onde a equipa da
casa carimbou o passaporte para os quartos-de-final.
E seria contra o Ferroviário de Maputo, em Vilankulo, como
antes nos referimos, que terminaria a participação na Taça, que
tem a sua final marcada para 27 de Novembro.
Os finalistas sairão dentre as equipas do Maxaquene, Ferroviário de Maputo, Chingale e Palmeiras de Quelimane.

This time we got to the quarter-finals
This year, the running for the Mozambique Cup, the second
major competition in the country, was interrupted in the quarter
final, in the phase where Vilankulo was still in the running, however having lost the match through the penalty kicks after a draw.
Ferroviário was the fortunate team, the team which Vilankulo
eliminated in the past period, having won for 5-3, after the end
of the regular and additional time with a prevailing persistent
draw on the placard.
In this always unexpected lottery of penalty kicks, the five players chosen by Nacir Armando, namely:Whisk, Edgar, Sonito,
Zabula e Cissoco scored all the penalties. And on the host team
side, Tendai, Matlombe and Bila reached the target, but when
Sadique allowed the defence of Pinto, it was the end!
The first half time had two different opportunities, Sonito
and Luís headed the ball and it was easy for Jaimito to defend.
Sadique and Gitinho saw their kicks ending in Mohamed hands.
Yet in the first half time the match had too many interruptions,
because fro a certain moment there was considerable virility in
the field.
In the second half time, Chiquinho Conde requested his players
to play much with their mind rather than their hearts, an intention which did not bring out the expected results, because Ferroviário de Maputo had evaded the middle of the field due to Jossias immobility in the heart of the field. Whisky and Buramo, with
the support of Tchitcho, tried to push the team forward, where
Sonito and Luís had no space for manipulation.
Chiquinho Conde, being in trouble, moved the players, called
in Sergio, Eurico and Gonçalves, and managed to stop the “locomotivas” attackers.
In the additional time, both teams did not risk to attack. It was
notable the preference for the penalties kicks, Nacir Armando
operated the final substitution of the match, replacing Mohamed
by Pinto as the goal keeper, who ended up rescuing the team by
defending one penalty of Vilankulo.
HERE IS VILANKUO ROUTE
Vilankulo FC, started in Mozambique Cup 2011 edition, in the
semi final of the regional phase, on 2 June, the occasion when
they travelled to Liga Muçulmana da Maxixe’s field, where it won
for 2-0, qualifying for the final.
The opponent that it had to face was Associação Desportiva da
Maxixe, but this time in Vilankulo, on 5 June. The marlins had a
very difficulty match, but they left the stadium smiling, since they
had won the match for the most precious tangent 1-0, allowing
them the access to the national phase.
In this phase ( semi quarter- final), the lucky game balls put
the marlins to confront Djuba FC, from Maputo Province, which
had a trip to forget to Vilankulo, where the host team qualified for
the quarter final.
And it would be against Ferroviario de Maputo, in Vilankulo,
as it was mentioned before that the participation in the cup which
was set for 27 November terminated.
The finalists will come out from the following teams: Maxaquene, Ferroviário de Maputo, Chingale and Palmeiras de
Quelimane.

Vilankulo FC recebe 300 mil dólares de patrocínio
da Sasol
A SASOL assinou, na primeira semana de Dezembro, com o
Vilankulo FC, um acordo de patrocínio de 300 mil dólares por um
período de três anos, devendo o clube, anualmente, receber 100
mil dólares norte-americanos
Na presença de representantes federativos e do Governo, bem
como de jornalistas, o acordo foi assinado em Maputo, no Hotel
Afrin, por Yassin Amuji, patrono do clube, e Mateus Zimba, director residente da Sasol durante três anos, e tem como objectivo
melhorar as condições de trabalho do clube durante a vigência do
contrato, tendo a primeira tranche sido já depositada.
Na ocasião, Mateus Zimba disse aos presentes que o patrocínio
feito aos representantes de Inhambane constitui um reconhecimento pelo esforço empreendido durante a época de 2011 na luta

Vilankulo FC receives 300 thousands dollars under the
auspices of Sasol
In the first week of December SASOL signed sponsorship
agreement of 300 thousands USD for three years with Vilankulo
FC, according to which the club will receive 100 thousands USD
annually.
The agreement was signed in Maputo, in Hotel Afrin, by Yassin Amuji, the patron of the club and Mateus Zimba the resident
director of SASOL, it was signed in the presence of the federative
representatives and government, as well as journalists, the agreement is aimed to improve the club working conditions during the
contract time, having the first amount been deposited.
In the occasion, Mateus Zimba told the people who were present that the sponsorship made to the Inhambane representatives
constitutes an acknowledgement for the effort put up during the
period of 2011 on the battle for the maintenance in Moçambola.
Zimba highlighted that this sponsorship was only possible due to
the effort of all workers of that company, since‘’we all like to be
associated to victories. Being associated to Vilankulo is another
commitment that the company has in its social responsibility, he
said.
In his turn, the president of Vilankulo FC, Yassin Amuji, who
is already working hard in order to improve his classification in
the next period, seemed to be extremely happy and thanked the
gesture.
For the first time in Mozambican football, the marlins signed
for a five years unprecedented contract with Chiquinho Conde,
with the option of many others, expecting that this relationship
should bring the desired results.

Com vista a explicar as motivações que estiveram por detrás da assinatura de
um contrato de longo termo com Chiquinho Conde, Yassin Amuji, patrono do
clube, teve uma breve conversa com a nossa reportagem.
– Acaba de renovar o contrato com o técnico Chiquinho Conde por cinco anos,
com mais cinco de opção. Significa claramente que está satisfeito com o trabalho
feito por ele na ponta final do campeonato?
– Com certeza que estamos satisfeitos com o trabalho realizado, Chiquinho
enquadrou-se perfeitamente no nosso projecto futurista.
– Qual foi a motivação para rubricar este contrato inédito com Chiquinho
Conde?
– A primeira motivação foi por ele ser um treinador à imagem do Vilankulo FC.
Nós estamos a construir um clube inovador e humilde e o Chiquinho enquadra-se
perfeitamente naquilo que são os nossos projectos. Aliás, ele também sabe perfeitamente por que é que aceitou este desafio. Em Vilankulo ele não só encontrou
dirigentes desportivos jovens, como também uma família que trabalha em torno
do clube. Todos os dirigentes, funcionários e colaboradores deste clube funcionam como uma família única e unida e queremos transmitir isto ao país. Queremos adeptos do Rovuma ao Maputo para se juntarem a esta nossa família que só
traz inovações no futebol moçambicano.
– A equipa técnica será reforçada, ou vai ser a mesma?
– Vamos continuar com o Victor como adjunto e o Efraime como treinador de
guarda-redes. Nada vai mudar. Acreditamos que já temos os treinadores ideais
que procurávamos.
– Que balanço faz da época que acabou de terminar?
– No campeonato foi positivo. Conquistámos mais um ponto que na época passada, apesar de que poderíamos ter feito mais. Na taça caímos onde não devíamos
ter caído, nos quartos-de-final, mas se até o Manchester United é eliminado nos
quartos-de-final duma taça, quem somos nós…, são coisas do futebol.
– Em termos de metas, em que estágio quer ver o Vilankulo FC até ao fim da
vigência do contrato de Chiquinho Conde?
– O contrato está claro. Não há pressão para o treinador. Terá todo o tempo
para em 2014 colocar este clube como um dos grandes do Moçambola. A nível
de gestão desportiva já provámos que somos grandes, faltando, agora, demonstrar
isso dentro das quatro linhas. Se Deus quiser, em 2014 lutaremos pelo título. É um
processo e um trabalho que está a ser feito com toda a cautela possível.

with our crew.
– You have just renewed a five-year contract with Chiquinho Conde, with five
more optional years. Does this clearly mean that you are pleased with his job in
the final stage of the championship?
– Surely we are happy with the job he has done. Chiquinho fitted in perfectly
to our futurist project.
– What encouraged you to sign this unusual contract with Chiquinho Conde?
– The first reason was the fact that he is a coach fit for the purpose of Vilankulo
FC. We are building up an innovative and humble club and Chiquinho Conde
matches perfectly to our projects. Besides, he knows deeply why he undertook this
challenge. In Vilankulo not only did he find young sports managers, but he also
found a family working for the club. All the managers, officials and collaborators
form this club work in unison as a family and we want the country to know that.
We want to attract fans from Rovuma to Maputo to this family which brings about
innovations to the football of Mozambique.
– Is the technical team going to be reinforced, or it will remain as it is?
– We will keep Victor as an assistant coach and Efraime as the goal keeper´s
coach. Nothing will change. We believe we already have the right coaches we
were looking for.
– What do you think about the season that has just ended?
– The championship was positive. We score one more point last season, but we
feel we could have done more than that. During the cup we fell at a critical stage,
in the quarterfinals, but even Manchester United may be eliminated in the quarterfinals of a cup, still we are far worse than it…, this is typical of football contest.
– As far as the contract´s goals are concerned, what are your expectations
for the Vilankulo FC in terms of their fulfillment until the end of the contract of
Chiquinho Conde?
– The contract is clear. There is no pressure for the coach. He will have plenty
of time to turn the club into one of the best in Moçambola until 2014. In terms of
management, we have proved to be efficient and we will consolidate it in contest.
In 2014 we will fight for the title, God willing. It is a process and a job being done
with the utmost care.

A equipa de juniores dos marlins sagrou-se vice-campeã nacional
de futebol na categoria de juniores, depois de um percurso cheio de
dignidade, que culminou com a presença na final, ganha pelo Ferroviário de Maputo, por escasso 1-0.
Os marlins começaram muito bem a prova, infligindo uma goleada
das antigas ao Atlético da Beira, por 5-1. Mais adiante perderam na
segunda jornada, diante do Ferroviário da Beira, por 1-0, mas conseguiram redimir-se na terceira e última jornada da fase de grupos,
vencendo a Liga Muçulmana de Chimoio por 1-0.
Nas meias-finais, os marlins tiveram pela frente a Califórnia de
Quelimane, jogo empatado no tempo regulamentar a três bolas. Os
marlins conseguiram levar a melhor nas grandes penalidades, por
2-1.
Estava, dessa forma, garantido o acesso à final da prova, onde o
adversário foi o campeão em título (Ferroviário de Maputo), que
conseguiu renovar o título, após vitória difícil por 1-0.
Os marlins apresentaram uma equipa formada há cerca de seis meses. Mesmo assim, dignificaram o clube e a província de Inhambane,
diante de muitos clubes fortes e que estão a competir há vários anos.
A prova começou com 13 equipas divididas em três séries. A Séria
A era composta pelo Ferroviário da Beira, Liga Muçulmana de Chimoio, Vilankulo FC, Atlético da Beira. A Série B era constituída pelo
Ferroviário de Maputo, Desportivo de Inhambane, Benfica de Nampula, Atlético de Maputo e Chókwè. Finalmente, a Série C incluía as
formações do Costa do Sol, Catedral de Quelimane, Centro Juvenil
da Maxixe e Ferroviário de Pemba.

The marlins started the match very well, imposing an old-unusual
great number of goals to Athletics of Beira, by 5-1. Far ahead they lost
in the second round, against Ferroviário da Beira, by 1-0, however,
they succeeded to redeem themselves in the third and last period of the
round in the fase of groups, winning the Liga Muçulmana de Chimoio
by 1-0.
In de semi-finals, the marlins had the Califórnia de Quelimane
ahead, a match that ended in a draw in a regular time of three balls.
The marlins succeed to get the advantage in the penalty kicks, by 2-1.
It was guaranteed the access for the final game, where the opponent
team was the champion (Ferroviário de Maputo), which succeeds to
renew the title, after a difficult victory of 1-0.
The marlins came up with a team that was composed six years ago.
Despite that, were significant to the club and to the province of Inhambane, before many strong clubs and for the fact that are competing for
many years.
The game started with 13 teams divided in three series. The Series
A was composed by Ferroviário de Beira, Liga Muçulmana de Chimoio, Vilankulo FC, Atletico da Beira. The Series B was composed by

Os jogadores do Vilankulo Futebol Clube estiveram presentes
na Inauguração do Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto (ENZ).
Esta iniciativa da Direcção do Clube fez com que os jogadores
sentissem o calor que se viveu na inauguração do estádio, onde a
festa foi sem precedentes.
Lembre-se que nesse dia, os jogadores – devidamente identificados – testemunharam à vibração advinda de uma vitória dos
Mambas sobre a sua congénere da Tanzânia.
Dir-se-ia que a inauguração do estádio seria uma musa, pois no
dia seguinte o Vilankulo jogou diante do Desportivo de Maputo,
tendo vencido por 1-0, em Maputo, no Estádio 1º de Maio.

Vilankulo FC e Bristol City pretendem assinar protocolo
O Vilankulo Futebol Clube e o Bristol City Football Club de
Inglaterra ponderam assinar um protocolo num futuro breve.
O Presidente do Bristol City procedeu em Vilankulo à entrega
de algum material desportivo, incluindo bolas e equipamentos de
treino.
Stephen Lansdown, que detém 68.8% das acções do Bristol
City, disse que este é o primeiro passo e que o Bristol deseja continuar com este tipo de iniciativas e aliar-se a outros clubes.
O Bristol City tem dois homens fortes. Além de Lansdown com
68,8%, existe também o Keith Dawe com 15,8% e os restantes
15,4% representam os sócios do clube.
O Vilankulo Futebol Clube tem como seu homem forte Yassin
Amuji, que controla na sua totalidade os 100% das acções do
clube.
O Bristol City está a disputar a Coca Cola Championship em
Inglaterra e pretende a curto prazo ascender à Premier League.
Para esse efeito, o clube está também a construir um novo Estádio

Vilankulo FC and Bristol City intend to sign a protocol
Vilankulo Football Club and Bristol City Football Club from
England may sign for a protocol very shortly.
The president of Bristol City proceeded with the delivery of
some sports material in Vilankulo, which included balls and
practicing equipment.
Stephen Lansdown, who holds 68.8% of Bristol City shares,
said that this is the first step and that Bristol wishes to continue
with this type of initiatives, as well as becoming involved with
other teams.
Bristol City has two powerful men. Apart from Lansdown with

A gift for Anderson, son of midfielder Matlombe
O Vilankulo FC, através do seu presidente, Yassin Amuji, procedeu à entrega de um presente ao médio Matlombe, na sequência de se ter tornado pai de um menino a quem atribuiu o nome
de Anderson.
Durante o acto de entrega do presente, Yassin Amuji disse que
“este é um acto normal quando as mulheres dos nossos atletas
dão à luz. Já no ano passado fizemos algo do género com o Félio
e este ano foi a vez de Matlombe”.
Amuji acrescentou ainda que quando um atleta assina pelo
Vilankulo não só assina por um clube, mas sim junta-se a uma
família.
Convidado a expressar o seu sentimento, Matlombe, emocionado, disse que “nunca esperei que um dia um clube pudesse dar
um presente ao meu filho. Este gesto só prova que fiz a escolha
certa”.
A entrega do kit para Anderson aconteceu antes do treino de
apresentação de Chiquinho Conde como novo treinador do
Vilankulo FC.

O Vilankulo Futebol Clube lamenta a perda do Professor
Acácio, adepto ferrenho do clube, em pleno jogo contra a Liga
Muçulmana.
O professor Acácio estava a assistir ao jogo Vilankulo FC – Liga
Muçulmana e de repente teve um ataque cardíaco. A morte ocorreu quando já estava a ser evacuado para o Hospital de Vilankulo.
A afeição de Acácio pelos marlins era incomensurável, de tal
sorte que um dia chegou a arriscar a sua vida, deixando o Hospital
em pleno tratamento e com soro injectado somente para assistir à
qualificação do VFC ao Moçambola em 2009, quando o Vilankulo recebeu e venceu a Académica de Maputo por 2-1.
Este ano, o clube também viveu momentos de choque pela
morte de dois adeptos, nomeadamente Sérgio Elias e Julamento
Alexandre, atropelados por uma carrinha à saída do estádio.
A direcção do clube solidarizou-se com as famílias enlutadas e
deu apoio material e financeiro.

Teacher Acacio was watching the game Vilankulo FC vs Liga
Muçulmana when he all of a sudden had a heart attack. He died
shortly during his evacuation to Hospital de Vilankulo.
His sympathy with the marlins was so profound that he once
risked his life leaving the hospital during treatment with an injected serum only to watch the VFC qualification to Moçambola
in 2009, when Vilankulo hosted and won Académica de Maputo
by 2-1.
This year, the club also experience shocking moments with the
death of two fans, namely Sergio Elias and Julamento Alexandre,
both hit by a car on their way out of the stadium.
The board of the club was deeply sympathetic with the mourning families and provided material and financial support.

Em mais uma actividade extra desportiva, o Vilankulo Futebol
Clube, juntamente com a African Impact, tomaram a iniciativa de
capacitar os seus jogadores em matéria de HIV.
A Administração do Clube já havia prometido dotar os seus
atletas de conhecimento extra desportivos e este acto surgiu como
o cumprimento da promessa.
Os jogadores participaram num programa de aproximadamente
um mês, juntamente com os activistas da African Impact.
A African Impact fez esta actividade com muito prazer e gosto
e no final, os activistas ficaram bastante satisfeitos com a prestação dos atletas do VFC.
In one more extra sports activity, Vilankulo FC, together with
African Impact, have taken the initiative to instruct their players
on HIV matters.
The club administration, had already promised to enlighten
their players on extra sports knowledge and this act came as a
way of fulfilling the promise.
The players participated in an approximately one month training program with the African Impact activists.
African Impact did this activity with great pleasure and satisfaction and, at the end, the activists were very happy with the
performance of VFC athletes.

O Professor Carlos Queiroz voltou em Setembro a visitar o
Vilankulo Futebol Clube a pedido do Presidente do clube, Yassin
Amuji.
Queiroz apareceu a um dos treinos para cumprimentar os jogadores e reviver um pouco o passado que teve com Chiquinho
Conde no Sporting Clube de Portugal, quando era treinador do
actual técnico do Vilankulo.
Carlos Queiroz puxou da sua veia de pedagogo e lembrou
aos jogadores que o esforço que a Direcção do clube tem feito é enorme, pois, na altura em que ele treinava o Sporting de
Chiquinho Conde, eles nem campo de treino tinham.
Por outro lado, Queiroz pediu também aos jogadores que estão neste projecto desde o início para que sempre passem a mensagem e a história do clube aos novos jogadores, pois só assim
pode-se criar e manter a verdadeira história dos marlins.

O acto do lançamento do cartão foi bastante concorrido pela
Imprensa e convidados, tendo o Administrador do Millennium
Bim, Dr. João Manuel Rodrigues Cunha Martins, manifestado a
sua satisfação por lançar o primeiro cartão de crédito Visa associado a um clube desportivo, neste caso o VFC, vincando que
“esta iniciativa enquadra-se na política do Millennium Bim que
sempre apostou em apoiar o desenvolvimento integral do desporto moçambicano. Espero que esta iniciativa seja um sucesso”.
Por sua vez, Yassin Amuji, Presidente do Vilankulo FC, disse
sentir-se honrado com este acordo “cujos propósitos representam
para nós e para o Distrito de Vilankulo um dos marcos mais importantes na vida desta instituição desportiva”.
Mais adiante, Amuji prometeu que o clube vai continuar a inovar e progredir com o fim de se tornar numa referência nacional,
“se é que já não o somos”.
Visivelmente emocionado com mais esta conquista, Amuji não
se esqueceu de felicitar o Millennium Bim “por ter tido a coragem de apostar num projecto desta envergadura com um Clube
do Distrito, um Clube novo, jovem, ambicioso, competente e estruturado, pois este processo iniciou em Abril de 2009, num ano
em que ainda lutávamos pela ascensão ao Moçambola”.
O presidente do clube terminou a sua alocução dizendo:
– “Obrigado amigo Millennium Bim por nos honrar com esta
parceria, que mostra claramente que o vosso interesse é o mesmo
que o nosso, continuar a desenvolver mais o desporto moçambicano, em particular o futebol”.
Refira-se que no acto do lançamento usaram da palavra o presidente da Federação Moçambicana de Futebol, Feizal Sidat, o
vice-presidente do Maxaquene, Imtiaz Amuji, e a deputada da
Assembleia da República pela Província de Inhambane, Ana Rita
Sitole, que foram unânimes em enaltecer o carácter empreendedor do Vilankulo FC clube, em especial do seu presidente, fazendo votos para que outros clubes enveredem por iniciativas do
género.
O cartão pode ser obtido em qualquer balcão do Millennium
bim a nível Nacional. Assim mais uma vez o Vilankulo FC compromete-se a estar cada vez mais presente no dia-a-dia do desportista moçambicano.

a Visa Credit Card

In what was an excitingly awaited moment by the leaders, associates and fans of Vilankulo FC, the night of 7 July will be historic because the Millennium Bim, the biggest bank of Mozambique,
introduced, in its Salão Prestige, in Maputo, a Credit Card for
the Vilankulo Football Club, in what was the first initiative ever
between the Millennium Bim and the Vilankulo Football Club,
which will bring many benefits for the card holders.
The Credit Card of the Vilankulo is part of the Visa network and
will provide card holders (associates, fans and others who take
interest in it) with access to a credit line of 40 days, with no interest, so long as the credit is 100 per centum paid by the maturity
date, which is, undoubtedly, a huge advantage for whoever takes
interest.
It is crucial to highlight that they means of accessing the credit
line as well as of refunding it are somewhat flexible because the
clients may choose to pay in installments that range from 10 to 90
per centum of the debt and yet seek a temporary extension of the
credit limit to make up for unexpected expenses.
Apart from these advantages, the card holders of the Vilankulo
FC will benefit from all other advantages related to the Visa network credit cards, namely the possibility of making payments and
advancements in cash abroad and in Visa all establishment.
Apart from available normal bank operations, such as withdrawals in cash, account balance checking, changes in the
amount of payment, all Vilankulo FC fans will benefit from discount in the Blue Shop of the Club when buying different products
and presents.
The event of the introduction of de credit card was well attended by the press and guests what drove the Manager of the
Millennium Bim, Dr. João Manuel Rodrigues Cunha Martins,
into expressing his excitement for introducing the first ever Visa
credit card for a sports club, particularly the VFC, highlighting
that this initiative was a part of Millennium Bum’s policy which
always aims at supporting the integral development of sport in
Mozambique. I hope this initiative proves successful.
On his turn, Yassin Amuji, President of the Vilankulo FC, felt
honored with this agreement “its objectives represent to us and to
the District of Vilankulo one of the most remarkable moments for
this sport institution”. Later, Amuji promised that the club would
continue to innovate and grow so as to become a national reference, “if we are not already a reference”.
Notably excited with one more achievement, Amuji took advantage of the opportunity to congratulate Millennium Bim “for having bravely decided to embrace such a huge project with a Club
of a District, a club that is new, young, ambitious, competent and
structured, a process that started in April 2009, a time where we
were still fighting a rank to Moçambola”.
The president of the club ended his speech saying:
–“Thank you my friend Millennium Bim for having honoured
us with this partnership which clearly shows that your commitment is as the same as ours and that is to continue developing
more the Mozambican sport, particularly the football”.
Note that during this event, a room for a speech was given to
the President Mozambican Football Federation, Feizal Sidat, the
vice president of Maxaquene, Imtiaz Amuji, and the deputy of the
Assembly of the Republic representing the province of Inhambane
and they unanimously highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of
the Vilankulo FC, specially its president who appeal for the other
clubs to follow suit.
The credit card can be obtained in any of the Millennium bum’s
banks across the country. The Vilankulo FC, is thus, committed
to being more attentive to the everyday life of national athletes.

Vem aí a nova sede do clube
The New Club-house is coming
O crescimento do Vilankulo FC tem, incontornavelmente, que
ser acompanhado pela criação de infra-estruturas capazes de criar
suporte à dinâmica do clube, daí que, para além da Academia,
esteja projectada a construção de uma sede, no coração da vila.
Durante a nossa passagem por Vilankulo, foi-nos indicado o
espaço onde vai ser erguida a espaçosa sede da colectividade, que
logo que as condições estiverem criadas vai deixar de funcionar
no primeiro andar do edifício onde funciona a Loja Azul.
The growth of Vilankulo FC has obligingly to go along with the
raising of infrastructures capable of bringing support to the club
dynamic, therefore besides the academy there has to be a projection of a club- house construction in the heart of the village.
During our passing through Vilankulo we were shown the place
where the spacious club- house will be built for the collectively,
and as soon as the conditions have been created it will be moved
from the building where it is presently functioning, on the first
floor of the building where Loja Azul is located.

Em dois anos de futebol profissional, o Vilankulo FC quer
crescer em várias frentes. Porque um clube não vive só de futebol, o Vilankulo conta, desde Abril, com uma publicação própria,
lançada em Maputo, no Edifício sede da Vodacom Moçambique,
o maior patrocinador da colectividade.
A revista de nome “VILANKULO” traz a história do clube, os
êxitos e os fracassos, os jogadores, os treinadores, os adeptos, assim como entrevistas com o patrono da agremiação, Yassin Amuji,
e com o presidente do município, Sulemane Amuji, entre outros
aspectos.
Numa cerimónia em que esteve presente o Vice-Ministro da
Juventude e Desportos, Carlos Sousa, e convidados de outras
instituições desportivas e patrocinadores, incluindo membros do
Parlamento da República de Moçambique, o patrono do clube recuou no tempo, recordando-se das suas próprias palavras quando
ascendeu ao Campeonato Nacional.
– “Dissemos, na altura, que não pretendíamos ser apenas mais
um clube no Moçambola, mas sim um clube do Moçambola. E,
fruto do nosso empenho e abnegação, temos sido, sim senhor, esse
clube que está no Moçambola a concretizar, paulatinamente, as
suas ambições, com a esperança de um dia chegar ao topo”.
Yassin Amuji sublinhou que, embora seja novo, o Vilankulo FC
gosta de desafios e também de ser ousado.
– “Pode parecer presunçoso falar de nós mesmos, pelo nosso
próprio punho, mas entendemos ser mais um desafio à nossa capacidade de realização e, acima de tudo, de concretização, particularmente num mundo cada vez mais global e em permanente evolução tecnológica”, disse, destacando o facto de o clube
ter começado a marcar presença através de um website oficial,
evoluído para um boletim mensal de distribuição electrónica e
depois para uma revista mais abrangente, de periodicidade semestral, bilingue (português e inglês) com 52 páginas, isto para não
falar da página que o clube tem no Facebook, a rede social mais
larga do planeta.
Amuji disse ainda que esta revista não vem roubar o lugar de
nenhuma outra publicação que existe na praça, mas sim ocupar o
lugar que lhe pertence, falar de Vilankulo como uma das cidades
turísticas mais visitadas de África e do seu empenho rumo ao futebol moderno.
Além dos elogios do vice-ministro, várias pessoas presentes enalteceram o gesto do Vilankulo FC, desejando que a publicação
tenha vindo para ficar e, com o tempo, seja mais inovativa, a bem
do clube, da vila, e do país em geral.

Vilankulo FC Magazine welcomed on its launching
In two years of professional football, Vilankulo Football Club
wants to grow in various aspects. Since a club does not only live
upon football, from April Vilakulo has its own publication, which
was launched in Maputo, at Vodacom Mozambique head offices,
the major sponsor of the collectively.
Among various aspects, “VILANKULO” magazine states the history of the club, the successes and misfortunes, the players, couches,
supporters as well as the interviews with the patron of the club,
Yassin Amuji, and with the mayor, Sulemane Amuji,.
In a ceremony witnessed by the Vice-Minister of Sports and Youth,
Carlos Sousa, and guests from other sports institutions, as well as
sponsors, including members of parliament of the Republic of Mozambique, the patron of the club recalled his own words from the
past, at his ascension to the National tournament.
– “ At the time we said that we did not intend to be just one more
club in Moçambola, but a club belonging to Moçambola. And as the
result of our effort and abnegation, we surely are this club which is
in Moçambola, step by step achieving its ambitions, hoping to reach
the top some day. Yassin Amuji, underlined that, although Vilankulo
FC is a new club, it likes challenges and being bold.
– “it may appears arrogance to talk about ourselves, but we understand it as being one more challenge to our capacity of achievement, and above all of realization, particularly, in a more and more
global world and in permanent technological development’’ he said,
highlighting the fact that the club had started making its appearance
through an official website, which developed to a monthly bulletin
of electronic distribution, and then to a more inclusive weekly bilingual (Portuguese and English) magazine of 52 pages, not to mention the fact that the club has a page in the face book, the largest
social network all over the planet.
Amuji, also said that this magazine is not coming to steal the position of any other existing publication in the market, but to take the
position where it belongs talk about Vilankulo as one of the most
visited touristic cities of Africa and its efforts aimed to the modern
football.
Besides the praises from the Vice Minister, people who were present exalted the deed of Vilankulo FC, wishing that the publication
had come to stay, and with time it may become more innovative for
the benefit of the club, the village and the country in general.
