São Paulo is a synthesis of this continent sized country.

with parts of its history impressed on all races. Founded
in 1554 by Jesuit priests, São Paulo was born destined to
be the economic and cultural heart of the country. From
the arrival of the first immigrants who settled here for the
work in the coffee-growing sector, at the end of the 19th
century, the city has seen a trajectory of constant growth.
São Paulo is Brazil’s main gateway for foreign visitors.
Business tourism has made the country city a strategic
point within Mercosul, linked directly to the main world
capitals.

São Paulo attracts today’s biggest and most important

or sporting area, it is a metropolis that offers a service

There is still the supply of approximately 30,000
appartments of various categories, a number which is to
grow significantly in the next two years.
It is worth pointing out that from the tourist attractions
the following stand out: gastronomy and culture. With
more than 12,000 restaurants offering a sort of 40
different world cuisines, besides the 70 museums, more
than 200 cinemas, around 50 theaters, art galleries and
cultural centers, São Paulo has one of the liveliest nightlife
in the world.
Entertainment and art are typical of São Paulo. The city has
five theme parks and numerous leisure areas.
There are also seven large stadiums and the Interlagos
Racetrack, host to the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the only
circuit venue in the whole Latin America.
Shopping is intimately linked to Sao Paulo, which offers
products from all over the world.
Akin to the planet’s great metropolis, the city guarantees

SAO 02 | HD City Tour
HD city tour, visiting the residential areas of Higienópolis
with its 1950’s apartment buildings, the Pacaembu Soccer
Stadium, the School of Medicine and Hospital das Clínicas
complex, the Campus of the University of São Paulo. A stop
will be made at Butantã snake farm (closed on Mondays):
a world-renowned institution where snakes are kept for
poison extraction for snakebite serum manufacture.
Continuing the tour to the Morumbi hill, from where we
can see the São Paulo’s Jockey Club and the unfolding
of the city to the limits of the Paulista Avenue ridge. Tour
will continue passing by the State Government Palace, the
Albert Einstein Hospital and the São Paulo Futebol Club
Soccer Stadium, moving on to Jardim Europa residential
district.
Tour will continue passing by Ibirapuera Park with beautiful
gardens and lakes. At the entrance to the park, visitors will
admire São Paulo’s postcard monument - Bandeirantes, and

SAO 03 | Embu das Artes
