PUMA/AGNES - DIRECTIONS EP (STHLMAUDIO) 10’’
The 3rd release on STHLM Audio may as well have been on Morris Audio, Musik
Krause or Poker Flat thanks to the amazing contributions here by both Puma and
Agnes. Puma's "Acid Honey" is a full- on Apoll meets Robag Wruhme rump-shaker
thats all about the delicious jacking beats and hollow bassline pressure. Agnes is up
next with a track called "Seaside" which is a glitch- funky affair where wobbly bass
and quirky beats collide in Contexterrior-like fashion. PLEASE NOTE: This was
supposed to arrive one week ago due to shipping problems but it is FINALLY here
{we swear}.

Plattenhändler diesen Tonträger von Puma & Agnes erwerben.
Puma widmet ihren Beitrag dem „Acid Honey“ - wer auch immer das ist - und so
klingt es dann auch. Es darf gefiepst und geploingt werden,
aufgelockert durch auf mehreren Ebenen angelegte Flächen. Agnes ihrerseits
transportiert die Stimmung der „Seaside“ auf Vinyl, das klingt
in diesem Fall nach ziemlich starkem Seegang, eingepackt in ein kompaktes und
treibendes Minimal- House- Gewand. Schöne Platte. (mp)

PUMA/AGNES - DIRECTIONS EP (STHLMAUDIO RECORDINGS)
Auf der A- Seite ein Track von Puma, der seinem Namen mit diesem
schleichenden dunklen Sound alle Ehre. Ein schwerer schlängelnder aber
dennoch sehr minimaler Groove der perfekt mit dieser Mischung aus
langsamen Veränderungen und massivem Sound agiert. Trockener und im
Groove abstrakter aber mit smoothem deepem Houseunterton der neue Track
von Agnès, der sich mit seinen knarzigen Effekten immer tiefer in die
Seele bohrt. Sehr schön.

Un petit 10" venu de suisse avec une jolie pochette et deux tracks minimal house
des plus sympathiques. Face A, Puma signe un titre pumpin' et bien groovy. Face B,
le boss du label Ag nès délivre pour sa part un autre morceau dancefloor super frais &
happy. Chaudement recommandé !

Issued on 10” inch and boasting a lovingly designed sleeve, it's clear that Sthlmaudio
put a lot of time and effort into their releases and, although the music is made by
unknown producers Puma and Agnes, 'Directions' it still has a cohesive identity.
Coming across like a contemporary, minimal version of Swedish label Svek, both
sides are warm, fluid techno tracks that nonetheless boast the rigid funk feel of the
modern linear sound. 4/5

Beautifully presented heavyweight 10" from this relatively new Swiss label. Peddling
the sort of music that gets me moist. Puma's 'Acid Honey' tacks bubble'n squeak
basslines down to a disco beat. Agnès effort on the other side ('Seaside') strafes and
chafes its way to the dancefloor. Making suggestive gestures on the way down.

Impecable planchado en 10” de esta deliciosa perita en dulce en forma de tercera
entrega del sello suizo STHLM Audio . El país helvético no sólo regala buenas
noticias a las grandes cuentas bancarias, también se preocupa por desentumecer
nuestros oídos con sonidos cristalinos como las aguas embravecidas de la foto de
port ada de este “Directions E.P.”. Dirección muy clara y centrada en el glitch house
very funky con estos dos cortes de los productores Puma (“Acid money”) y el jefe
del sello, Agnès (“Seaside”) para un roscón de azúcar ideal en esas primeras horas
de baile indolente no más allá del “pajareo”. Agnès no es una chica aunque por el
nombre lo parezca si no que remite a un grumete suizo con discografía empaquetada
casi en su totalidad en el sello que hoy nos ocupa, aunque bien podría haberlo en
sellos como Morris Audio con un house saltarín no demasiado personal pero muy
funcional y vendible en cualquiera de esas macro- distribuidoras teutonas que dirigen
el tráfico editorial desde hace tiempo en centro - europa. Del protagonista de la cara
A, Puma, podemos decir poco más que es un “fantasma del groove” tal y como se le
describe en la web oficial del minúsculo sello –tal vez porque no tiene cara ni cuerpo,
no porque alardee de excesivo ritmo- y que despliega tics muy a lo Robag Wrühme
con unas pequeñas dosis de acid que amarga lo justo tanta dulzor en el plato de un
sello que presume de tener a Jimmy Page entre sus filas. Simpáticos son.

PUMA/AGNÈS DIRECTIONS EP (STHLMAUDIO REC. 003/FBM)
Schnieke 10” aus der Schweiz voll gediegenem, minimalem House. Puma
zwinkert einem freundlich zu, während sich nebenbei eine relaxte,
zufriedene Acidline über Normalnull schiebt und den breiten Rücken in der
Sonne wärmt. Die Flipside von Agnès mit einem etwas deeperen Schieber, über
tiefen, einfarbigen Chords pendelt ein wacher Synth- Sound und beleuchtet
ausgiebig den Kontrast. Hat irgendwie was von gutem Wein das Ganze, und
wenn dann Puma der liebliche Rosé und Agnès der trockene Rote.
