Tuesday Evening, 15th April 2008 – Swiss Association of Trust Companies Forum
Our next Evening Event will be held on Tuesday, 15th April 2008, at the SWISSOTEL
GENEVE METROPOLE. Doors will open at 17:30. The event will commence at 18:00,
end at 19:00 and will be followed by a cocktail reception and refreshments. It will close at
20:00. The event, co-organised by STEP Suisse-Romande, the Swiss Association of Trust
Companies (“SATC”), and graciously co-sponsored by STEP Suisse Romande and
Computer Performance Services Ltd., is free of charge. Registration should be made
either by return fax or e-mail or via our website (see below).
“SWISS ASSOCIATION OF TRUST COMPANIES (SATC): AN UPDATE”
Our featured speaker will be Mr. Xavier Isaac, Vice President of SATC. Mr. Isaac
will introduce SATC, describing the organisation’s mission, officers, members as well
as membership requirements. Mr Isaac will highlight the synergies between SATC
and STEP, outlining the complementary missions of both organisations.
This SATC Forum, held shortly before our annual STEP Switzerland &
Liechtenstein Seminar on 19th May (Geneva) and 20th May (Zurich) 2008 on “Swiss
Trustees and Protectors: Rules of the Game in the New Millennium”, will touch on one
of the Seminar’s main themes: the future regulation of trusteeship in Switzerland and
SATC’s key role in this process.
To register for the event, please return the reservation form attached either by fax or by email, or register online on our website: www.step-swissromand.ch (click on “Meetings”,
and log in as “STEPmembers” with the password “ST1992EP”). Whichever way you
choose, please register before Monday 14th April 2008. For the purposes of your CPD
(Continuing Professional Development), the event will count as “1 structured CPD hour”.

Programme of Events 2008
(All meetings are held at the Swissôtel Métropole, Geneva, and are luncheon events, unless stated
otherwise. Doors open at 11:45, luncheons begin at 12:15 prompt and end at 14:00)
Thursday 10th April 2008. STEP Student Event. Speakers and topic to be
announced shortly. This is an evening event from 17:45 to 19:00, followed by
cocktails until 20:00.
Tuesday 15th April 2008. Swiss Association of Trust Companies (SATC) Forum.
This Forum will focus on SATC and will present its mission, officers, members and
joining requirements. This is an evening event from 18:00 to 19:00, followed by
cocktails until 20:00. Attendance is free of charge; this event is graciously offered
by co-sponsors STEP Suisse Romande and SATC.
Thursday 24th April 2008. STEP-British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce afternoon
Seminar on “Destinations: U.K. vs. Switzerland vs. Monaco”. This is an afternoon
event (times to be announced) and will be held at the Hotel Beau-Rivage, Geneva.
Monday 19th May 2008. STEP Switzerland & Liechtenstein annual one-day
Seminar to be held at the Hôtel President Wilson, Geneva (and on Tuesday
20th May 2008 at the Hotel Widder in Zurich).
Tuesday 10th June 2008. Dr. Angelo VENARDIS, the Singapore correspondent of
Nerine Fiduciaire SA, Geneva, will speak on “Singapore trusts: a compliant
Singapore for effective offshore investment structuring”.
Tuesday 9th September 2008. Annual General Meeting of STEP SuisseRomande at 11:30 and followed by Luncheon beginning at 12:15. The Luncheon
speaker will be Richard PEASE, past Chairman of STEP Suisse Romande and
immediate past Chairman of STEP Worldwide.
Tuesday 7th October 2008. STEP-Swiss Institute of Comparative Law one-day
Seminar on “Islamic Finance and Wealth Structuring”. Hotel Kempinski, Geneva:
Programme to be announced.
Thursday 30th October 2008. Birgit SAMBETH GLASNER of Altenburger in
Geneva will speak in French on “La Médiation: un outil de prévention et de gestion
des conflits et des intérêts divergents en matière de trusts et d’estate planning".
Monday/Tuesday 17/18 November 2008. Introduction to Trusts Courses: 2-day
session. Programme to be announced.
