Nach der erfolgreichen 52-teiligen TV-Serie DIE KLEINE MONSTERIN
(2004–2008), sind nun die Abenteuer des frechen Monstermädchens im
Kino zu erleben: Aufgeregt strickt die kleine Molly an einer Pudelmütze. Die
muss nämlich rechtzeitig fertig werden, wenn das „Du-weißt-schon-was“
aus dem Ei schlüpft. Das „Du-weißt-schon-was“ wird Mollys erstes Geschwisterchen. Mit dem kann sie dann spielen und schmusen.
Aber noch ist es nicht soweit. Denn zuerst müssen die Monstereltern das Ei
auf die Eierinsel bringen. Dort wird es von Papa in aller Ruhe ausgebrütet.
Molly und ihr Aufziehspielzeug Edison, dem das ganze Theater um das neue
Familienmitglied gehörig auf die Nerven geht, bleiben zu Hause. Onkel Alfredo
und Onkel Santiago sind extra gekommen, um sich um ihre Nichte und deren
kleinen Freund zu kümmern. Doch dann vergessen Mama und Papa in der
Hektik die schöne Strickmütze für das Baby. Molly ist traurig, hat sie sich doch
solche große Mühe gegeben! Flugs packt sie ihren Koffer, schnappt sich Edison und fährt mit ihrem Roller den Eltern hinterher. Dass der Weg aber über
riesige Berge und tiefe Schluchten führt, hat Molly Monster nicht bedacht…
After the successful 52-part TV series MOLLY MONSTER (2004–2008), it is
now possible to watch the adventures of the cheeky little monster girl at the
cinema: Excitedly, little Molly is knitting a bobble hat. It has to be ready in
good time, you see, for when the “you know what” hatches from its egg. The
“you know what” is going to be Molly’s first little brother or sister, which she
will be able to play with and cuddle.
But it is not quite time yet. Because first of all, the monster parents have to
take the egg to egg island, where there is plenty of peace and quiet for papa
to hatch it. Molly and her wind-up toy Edison, who is getting really fed up with
all the fuss about the new addition to the family, are staying at home. Uncle
Alfredo and Uncle Santiago have come around especially to take care of
their niece and her little friend. But then in all the rush, mama and papa
forget the lovely knitted hat for the baby. Molly is so disappointed, after the
effort she made! Quickly, she packs her case, grabs Edison and sets off on
her scooter to follow her parents. But Molly Monster didn’t consider the
route, which leads over huge mountains and through deep gorges …

Michael Ekblad war an zahlreichen Fernsehserien und Kinofilmen beteiligt, wie z.B. der Serien WILDLIFE, KARLSSON AUF DEM
DACH oder den Animationsfilmen DERRICK, DER VIERTE KÖNIG
sowie TED SIEGER‘S MOLLY MONSTER – DER KINOFILM.
Geboren 1962 in Bielefeld. Studierte
Grafikdesign an der Fachhochschule
Düsseldorf und arbeitete von 1992
bis 1998 als freiberuflicher Anima­
tor und Regisseur für das TrickStudio
Lutterbeck in Köln. Seit 1998 Teilhaber, Geschäftsführer (zusammen mit
Richard Lutterbeck), Art Director und
Regisseur dieser Firma. 2003-2006 Lehrauftrag für Animation
an der Hochschule Luzern und seit 2008 Lehrbeauftragter an der
Animationsschule La Pudrière in Valence.
Matthias Bruhn führte Regie bei über 20 Kurzfilmen, einigen
TV-Specials und Spotproduktionen für die SENDUNG MIT DER
MAUS sowie DIE SENDUNG MIT DEM ELEFANTEN.
1958 in Chile als Kind von Schweizer
Eltern geboren, aufgewachsen in Peru
und Australien, 1972 Übersiedlung in
die Schweiz. Bevor er 1984 begann,
erste Animationsfilme zu produzieren,
tätig als Dachdecker, Fährmann, Pferdepfleger, Stallknecht, Nachtportier,
Waldarbeiter, Straßenmusiker, Maschinist auf einem Frachtschiff und – wie er sagt – Eierzähler in einer
Eierfabrik. Die Animationstechnik brachte er sich autodidaktisch
bei und stellte schon früh Station Identifications für MTV her.
Ted Sieger entwickelte mehrere international erfolgreiche Animationsserien für das Fernsehen, wie z.B. WILDLIFE, ALTAIR, TED
SIEGER’S MOLLY MONSTER, sowie die Animationsfilme DER VIERTE KÖNIG, FISCH BLEIBT FISCH, MOLLY UND DAS WEIHNACHTSMONSTER und TED SIEGER‘S MOLLY MONSTER – DER KINOFILM.
Born in Sweden in 1960, he studied at the Sheridan Institute
of Technology and Advanced Learning in Oakville (Canada) in
the Departments of Animation and Visual Arts. Since 1985 he
has worked as an animator, designer, director and producer in
the field of animation film, and he is a partner in the production
company Sluggerfilm in Malmö.
Michael Ekblad has been involved in the making of several television series and films for cinema, incl. the series WILDLIFE,
KARLSSON ON THE ROOF or the animation films DERRICK, THE
FOURTH KING and TED SIEGER‘S MOLLY MONSTER – THE FILM.
Born in Bielefeld in 1962, he studied graphic design at the Technical College in Düsseldorf and worked as a freelance animator
and director for the animation studio Lutterbeck in Cologne from
1992 to 1998. At the same company, since 1998, he has been
a partner, managing director (together with Richard Lutterbeck),
art director and director. 2003–2006, contract to teach animation at the University of Lucerne, and since 2008, teaching contract at the School of Animation La Pudrière in Valence.
Matthias Bruhn has directed more than 20 short films, several
TV specials, and spot productions for the PROGRAMME WITH
THE MOUSE as well as THE PROGRAMME WITH THE ELEPHANT.
Born in Chile to Swiss parents in 1958, he grew up in Peru and
Australia before moving back to Switzerland in 1972. Before he
began making his first animation films in 1984, he worked as a
roofer, ferryman, stable lad, night porter, woodsman, street musician, mechanic on a cargo ship, and – as he claims – egg-counter
in an egg factory. He taught himself animation techniques and
quickly began producing station identifications for MTV.
Ted Sieger has developed several internationally successful ani­
mation series for TV, including WILDLIFE, ALTAIR, TED SIEGER’S
MOLLY MONSTER, and the animation films THE FOURTH KING,
FISH STAYS FISH, MOLLY AND THE CHRISTMAS MONSTER and
TED SIEGER‘S MOLLY MONSTER – THE FILM.
