Properties
Das UniCam™ Steckverbindersystem ist eine Kombination
aus werkskonfektioniertem Steckverbinder und dem im Stecker integrierten mechanischen Spleißsystem CamSplice™.
In die Ferrule ist werkseitig ein kurzes Faserstück eingeklebt,
das an der Ferrulenstirnseite poliert ist.
Im Stecker innen ist das andere Ende des Faserstückes hochpräzise senkrecht zur Faserachse gebrochen und in dem mit
Index-Matching-Gel gefüllten CamSplice™ positioniert.
The UniCam™ connectivity system is a combination of a factory
assembled connector and the in the connector integrated
mechanical splice system CamSplice™.
The ferrule incorporates a factory glued and at their tip surface
polished short piece of fiber.
Inside of the connector the other end of the fiber is cleaved highly
precise to their axis and positioned in the CamSplice™ which is
filled with Index-Matching-Gel.

Die zu konfektionierende Faser wird bei der Installation mit
dem Faserbrechwerkzeug des UniCam™ Werkzeugsets
ebenfalls präzise senkrecht zu ihrer Achse gebrochen und
dann von hinten in den mechanischen CamSplice™ im Stecker eingeführt. Der Stecker ist hierzu im UniCam™ Montagewerkzeug eingesetzt, womit der CamSplice™ geschlossen
und die 900 µm-Ader gecrimpt wird. Für Simplex-Kabeltypen
gibt es zusätzlich eine Crimphülse für das Zugentlastungsgarn und den Kabelmantel.
The fiber which has to be assembled, has to be cleaved precisely
at right angle to the axis too using the fiber-cleaver in the
UniCam™ tool kit and then inserted into CamSplice™
connectors from the rear.
For this the connector is seated in the Assembly-Tool of the
UniCam™ tool kit. With this tool the CamSplice™ will be locked
and the 900µm-Buffer will be crimped. For simplex cable types
there’s an additional crimp-ring for the strain relief yarn and the
jacket.
Die Steckermontage auf eine 900 µm-Ader dauert weniger als
eine Minute, die auf Simplex-Kabel mit Kabelcrimp nur ca. 2
Minuten.
The assembly time of a connector at a 900µm-buffered fiber is
less than one minute, the time for a simplex cable with a cable
crimp is approx. 2 minutes.

CTS
Das CTS “Continuity Test Set” ist ein zusätzliches Werkzeug
zum UniCamTM Werkzeug-Set oben.
Es ist ein passiver optischer 1 in 2 Splitter, der während der
Montage sehr einfach und gut sichtbar anzeigt, ob die
Fasern im CamSplice™ des Steckers guten physikalischen
Kontakt haben. Mit seinem Einsatz wird die Ausschussquote ganz besonders bei der Montage von UniCam™
MT-RJ reduziert.
Lieferform: CTS-Splitter inkl. aller benötigten Anschlusskabel und CTS-Kupplungen für die UniCam™ Stecksysteme MT-RJ, SC, LC und ST.
Es wird ein Prüflaser als Lichtquelle benötigt,
dieser muss separat bestellt werden (siehe Seite 168)
The CTS continuity test set is an additional tool to the UniCamTM tool kit above. It is a passive optical
1 in 2 splitter which easily shows during installation whether the fibers have good physical contact in the
CamSplice™ inside the connector. Its use reduces rejection rates especially during the UniCamTM MT-RJ
assembly process.
Delivery form: CTS splitter and all connection cables required plus CTS couplers for the UniCam™
connectivity systems MT-RJ, SC, LC and ST.
A test laser is also required as a light source. This has to be ordered separately (see page 168).
