Mundorf introduces
an all-new line of highly stressable but extremely distortionless
ProAMT®tweeter devices.
ProAMT®Essentials
Air Motion Transformer (AMT®) are line-sources
as a matter of principle, thus they are very easy
to integrate in any Line Array design without
requiring wave-guides and phase-plugs. Regular
horn designs are sufficient.
Combining various patented and patent pending
innovations, these all-new ProAMT®drivers not
only match the sensitivity of HQ compression
drivers but yet exceed their power handling ability - at a distortion ratio as low as never achieved before with any other tweeter device around.
Both their short time peak capability (1000W) and
their long time power handling up to 150W (sinus
continuous) are remarkable specs, whereas the thermally caused power compression remains very low.
Available standard sizes are 2,5“ - 5“ - 6“ - 8“
10“ - 12“ and, there are 3 design concepts to
distinguish. Firstly, planar devices applicable from
<1kHz, secondly, ultra flat devices developed
for usage from <2kHz up to >18kHz and, thirdly,
very compact devices with specially U-shaped
pole plates, also usable from 1kHz.
Also, compact ProAMT®drivers with a wide vertical dispersion angle are available. In fact, both
driver ranges match both the requested dispersion angle and the hight of the line-source, respectively, its requested vertical dispersion angle.
A power input dependent and, continuously
running ventilation system is available for all models. That way, even extreme power loads can
be achieved safely and, at reasonable low costs.
Turnkey horn funnels are under construction,
data sheets on optimized horn geometries are
availble upon request.

Der ProAMT®197 PP 27R740-121-F
wurde als ein gemeinsames Projekt
mit der FH Düsseldorf, Fachbereich
Akustik entwickelt. Patentierte Membran-Technologie und eine ebenfalls
zum Patent angemeldete signalgesteuerte Zwangskühlung ermöglichen problemlos Belastbarkeiten,
die bisher modernen Kompressionstreibern vorbehalten waren bzw.
diese teilweise noch übertreffen! Die
Verzerrungen bewegen sich hierbei
allerdings auf einem unschlagbar
niedrigen Niveau, zumal die THD fast
ausschließlich aus eher unkritischen
K2 bestehen: Die eigentlich störenden K3, K5 und K7 sind nahezu
nicht vorhanden.
Der dargestellte Treiber steht als Beispiel dieser Bauform, die in verschiedenen Höhen, Impedanzen und mit
unterschiedlichen Abstrahlwinkeln
zur Verfügung steht, und sowohl
mit als auch ohne Zwangskühlung
angeboten wird.
ProAMT®197 PP 27R–740-121-F
was developed as a collective project with the FH Düsseldorf (University of Applied Sciences). Its patented
membrane technology and similarly
patent pending signal-controlled
forced-air cooling enable load capacities, which until now were reserved
for modern compression drivers and,
even partly surpass these respectively! Its distortion ratio, however,
remains at an unchallenged low
level, especially as the THD consist
almost merely of rather uncritical K2:
the rather disturbing K3, K5 and K7
are virtually non-existent.

through the patented U-shaped
