Double victory: HERING SCHUPPENER wins two Silver SABRE
Awards for the Portuguese Cork Association
The campaign “Schöner leben. Mit Kork.” (“Better living with cork.”) was also
nominated for the Gold SABRE Award
Düsseldorf, 14 June 2012 – Two silver awards for cork: the campaign run by
HERING SCHUPPENER Unternehmensberatung für Kommunikation GmbH for the
Portuguese Cork Association received two of the coveted EMEA Silver SABRE
Awards, which are presented each year by the Holmes Group. The Düsseldorfbased communication consultants won in the categories “Social Media Hub” and
“Advertising”. The success was rounded off with a nomination for the “Best of the
Best” Gold SABRE Award in the category “DACH”. The winners received their
crystal trophies at the EMEA Sabre Awards ceremony in Brussels at the end of
May.
This year the competition was bigger than ever before, with almost 2,200
applications. According to the Holmes Group, even getting a nomination is a
significant achievement. “The team, led by Marlies Peine and Sandra SeemannMonteiro, was able to win through against many other respected competitors”, said
Joerg Hage, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf office of HERING
SCHUPPENER. “We are really delighted with these awards. They are a testament
to the high calibre expertise and competence of our brand management
consultants.”
Campaign objective: from flop to top
In just one year, the seven-strong project team managed to turn the dismissive
approach to corks of many Germans to genuine enthusiasm for this versatile
natural substance. With a modern look, a great deal of charm and a multitude of
customised measures, the 360° campaign used the motto “Schöner leben. Mit
Kork.” (“Better living with cork.”) to breathe new life into the industry and changed
the image of cork and cork flooring from a stuffy niche product to a trendy designer
material. This achieved the objective of the client, the Portuguese Cork Association,
sales of cork in Germany, Austria and Switzerland experienced an upturn – and the
campaign won some significant awards.
