Geboren 1965 in Leipzig. Studium an der Hochschule für Musik Leipzig bei J.
Timm, W. Weber (Violoncello) und G. Bosse (Kammermusik), Konzertexamen
1991, Kammermusikstudien beim Amadeus-Quartett in Köln und London, bei
Hatto Beyerle in Hannover und Walter Levin in Lübeck. Gründungsmitglied des
Leipziger Streichquartetts, des Ensemble Avantgarde, Solocellist des Leipziger
Kammerorchesters von 1991-2001. ARD-Preisträger 1991, Busch-Preis, SiemensMusikpreis (jeweils mit dem Quartett), für die Arbeit im Ensemble Avantgarde
1991 Schneider-Schott-Preis der Stadt Mainz.
Konzerte in aller Welt (über 55 Länder in Europa, Südostasien, Japan, Nord- und
Südamerika, Australien, Nordafrika), geschlossene Zyklen der Kammermusik
unseres Jahrhunderts am Gewandhaus in Leipzig, in Gütersloh und Barcelona,
regelmäßige Zusammenarbeit mit Hans Zender, Giora Feidman, Martin Lovett, Michael Sanderling,
Christian Zacharias, Eliot Fisk, Karl Leister, Olaf Bär, Christiane Oelze, Alfred Bendel, Klaus-Maria
Brandauer u.v.a. Thematische Zyklen zu Schubert, Beethoven, eigenes Festival „Pro Quatuor“ in
Zusammenarbeit mit dem Leipziger Gewandhaus; Vorträge zur stilistischen Differenzierung und
musikalischen Rhetorik, Quartett „in residence“ bei der Bachakademie in Stuttgart 1997 und 2004, am
Auditorio Nacional Madrid 2001, am Theatre de Chatelet in Paris 2004.
Zahlreiche Produktionen bei Rundfunk- und TV-Anstalten verschiedener Länder, über 55 CDs mit
einem Repertoire von Mozart bis Blacher, darunter Gesamteinspielungen von Mozart, Mendelssohn,
Beethoven, Paul Dessau, Anton Webern, Theodor Adorno, Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill, John Cage u. a.
Erstmalige Aufnahme aller Streichquartette Franz Schuberts, Gesamteinspielung der Quartette der
Zweiten Wiener Schule.
Seit 1991 Exklusivvertrag mit MDG, internationale Schallplattenpreise für Brahms, Schubert, Brown,
Schönberg, Mozart, Beethoven und Cage in Deutschland, Frankreich, England, Spanien, USA, Japan,
Holland (Echo Klassik 99, 2000 und 2003, Indie Award 99 und 2000, Diapason d’Or, Premios CD
Compact, Luister, Grammophone Editors Choice etc.).
Von 1992 bis 1996 Assistent an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, 1996 deutsche
Erstaufführung des „Konzert zu dritt“ von Alfred Schnittke im Gewandhaus Leipzig, Idee des
Internationalen-Beethoven-Zyklus, der mit fünf anderen Quartetten (Hagen, Carmina, Keller, Vogler,
Mosaique) 1996 und 1997 über 15 Städte verband, seit 1996 Lehrauftrag für Violoncello und
Kammermusik an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig.
Internationale Kurstätigkeit in Südamerika, Japan, USA und Europa. Moosdorf spielt auf einem Cello
von Andreas Guarnerius, Cremona 1697.

Founding member of the “Leipziger Streichquartett“, the “Ensemble Avantgarde“,
solo cellist in the “Leipziger Kammerorchester“ from 1991-2001. ARD-prizewinner
in 1991, Busch-prize, Siemens-music prize (always with the quartet), in 1991
Schneider-Schott-prize of the City of Mainz for his work with the “Ensemble
Avantgarde“.

contemporary chamber music at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Gütersloh and Barcelona, constant
