ULTRA, innovation since almost
125 years – made in Germany.
In 1888 August Kirsch founded the first precision-mechanics workshop
where milling cutters were manufactured beside measuring tools. Due to an
increasing specialization the company enjoyed a considerable upswing until the
turn of the century.
In 1930 the factory was taken over by Carl Jakob Kolb who re-founded it
under the name ULTRA PRÄZISIONSWERK ASCHAFFENBURG and did justice to
this designation due to his energy and vision.
ULTRA, seit fast 125 Jahren
Innovation – made in Germany.
1888 gründete August Kirsch die erste feinmechanische Werkstätte in
der neben Messzeugen auch Fräser hergestellt wurden. Durch zunehmende
Spezialisierung erlebte die Firma bis zur Jahrhundertwende einen erheblichen
Aufschwung.
1930 wurde der Fertigungsbetrieb von Carl Jacob Kolb übernommen und als
ULTRA PRÄZISIONSWERK ASCHAFFENBURG neu gegründet, eine Bezeichnung,
der er mit Energie und Weitblick gerecht wurde.
1955 wurde ULTRA vom Hause Schäfer, (später FAG
Kugelfischer, Schweinfurt) übernommen.
Die Spezialisierung der Fertigung auf FAG spezifische
Sonderanfertigungen, führte dazu, dass das Kernprogramm Messzeuge und Lehren in den Hintergrund
gedrängt wurde.
1984 nach der Trennung von FAG folgte die
Übernahme durch Werner Bayer der das Unternehmen
als ULTRA PRÄZISION MESSZEUGE GMBH weiterführt. Längenmesstechnik
wurde von nun an wieder das Kerngeschäft des Unternehmens. Durch Auslagerung der Produktion auf viele kleinere Fertigungsstätten, die zum großen Teil
Ihren Ursprung in der traditionellen Vergangenheit der Ur-Firma haben, konnte in
kürzester Zeit wieder ein bedeutendes Programm an hochwertigen Messzeugen
und Lehren entstehen.
ULTRA Messmittel sind heute weltweit bekannt,
als Garant für höchste Präzision - made in Germany.

In 1955 ULTRA was taken over by the company Schäfer, (called FAG
Kugelfischer, Schweinfurt later on). The specialization of the production in FAG
specific fields lead to the result that the main program measuring tools and
gauges was pushed into the background.
In 1984 after the separation from FAG the enterprise was taken over by
Werner Bayer who re-founded the company under the name
ULTRA PRÄZISION MESSZEUGE GMBH. From this moment on metrology has
become the core business of the enterprise again. Due to the dislocation of
production in several smaller manufacturing plants, most part of them having
their origin in the traditional past of the initial company, a considerable program
of high-quality measuring tools and gauges could be created within a very
short time.
Today ULTRA measuring tools are known worldwide
as a guarantor for highest precision made in Germany.
