Düsseldorf/ München, 20. Februar 2015: Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach präsentiert in Zusammenarbeit mit Lehmann & Schmedding auf der Inhorgenta munich - vom 20.-23.2.2015 - in München
wieder neue Kollektionen.
Neu im Programm:
• Der kintische Ring Ruby & Ruby mit einem Brillanten: Amorph, rund, weich, und voller Volumen
kommt Ruby daher. Wie ein vom Wasser weich abgeschliffener Stein, dessen Form man in der
Hand fühlen möchte!
• Sternenstaub-Kollektion: jetzt mit Ringen zum kombinieren;
• die Kollektion „Marilyn“ by L&S erweitert sich durch neue Armbänder;
Außerdem:
• Dots: Spielerisch reihen sich die runden Elemente der Kollektion Dots kreisförmig über- und
nebeneinander.
• MyWay: Filigran bildet das fein gewickelte Gold ein Oval. Streifenförmig beschreibt es einen
zarten Weg von innen nach außen, von außen nach innen; My Way.
• die Serie „Double“ wurde um einen Ring mit Perle und Brillantbesatz bereichert;
• die Serie „HoldMe“ wurde durch neue Ringe ergänzt;

Geboren 1946 in Gladbeck. 1971 Meisterprüfung. Diplom FH Düsseldorf 1974. Ateliergründung
1975. Seit 1987 Galeristin in Düsseldorf. Seit 1993 bereichern die lichtdurchfluteten Räume der
‚Galerie Schulte-Hengesbach Schmuck’ auf der Neubrückstrasse 4, inmitten der Düsseldorfer
Altstadt und in Nachbarschaft von Kunstakademie und Kunstsammlung NRW, die Landeshauptstadt mit einem auch überregional geschätzten Forum für zeitgenössischen Schmuck. Aufgrund hoher Ansprüche an Design und Verarbeitung werden die im eigenen Atelier gestalteten
und gefertigten Schmuckstücke national wie auch international wahrgenommen, regelmäßig
ausgestellt und wurden vielfach ausgezeichnet.
Meine Spezialität: Die bekannte kinetische Schmucklinie, formal reduziert, immer aufs Neue
überraschend und von überzeugender Eleganz.

with innovation very much the strategy for spring 2015. In collaboration with the design studio
Lehmann & Schmedding, Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach presents new collections again.
New editions:
• Kinetic Ring Ruby & Ruby with one diamond: Ruby makes an amorphous, round, soft, voluminous impression. Like a stone polished smooth by water - a form you want to feel in your hand.
• Stardust rings: now to combine;
• the collection „Marilyn“ by L&S shows new bracelets;
In addition:
• Dots: The round elements in the Dots collection gather into a playful circle, lining up side by
side and overlapping. Together they take the form of a floral element.
• MyWay: A fine band of gold runs around and around, forming a graceful oval. Like a ribbon, it
traces a delicate path running from the inside outward, and from the outside inward - MyWay.

Born in Gladbeck in 1946. Master craftman’s certificate in 1971. Diploma from the FH Düsseldorf
(University of Apied Sciences) in 1974. Founded her studio in 1975. Since 1987, gallery owner in
Düsseldorf.
Flooded with light, the Schulte-Hengesbach Jewelry Gallery in Neubrückstrasse 4, at the heart of
Düsseldorf’s Altstadt, close to the art academy and collections of the Kunstakademie and Kunstsammlung NRW, has been enriching the regional capital with a widely regarded forum for contemporary jewelry since 1993.
Designed and crafted in my own studio, the jewelry regularly features in exhibitions, earning
international plaudits and no small number of prizes, thanks to standards of excellen ce in both
conception and realization.
My speciality: the well-known kinetic jewelry line, minimalist in form, always ready to spring a
surprise with persuasive elegance.

Sternenstaub - Ringe kombinierbar
Stardust rings to combine
Die Kollektion zeichnet sich durch die einzigartige Kombination
zweier Materialien aus: Gold und Siliziumcarbit. Letzteres ist
eine Keramik die bei 2500 °C über fünf Tage gebrannt wird. Nach
dem Brennvorgang ist es das fünfthärteste Material auf der Welt.
“Sternenstaub” (ger. “Stardust”) glitters with a unique combination of materials, namely yellow gold and the hi-tech ceramic
substance silicon carbide. Fired at 2500 °C for five days, it is one
of the hardest materials in existence.
Arkade
Seine architektonisch anmutende Ringschiene bettet Perlen,
Mondsteine und Mandaringranate ein.
An architecturally styled ring band embeds pearls, moonstones
and mandarin garnets.
Dots
Spielerisch reihen sich die runden Elemente der Kollektion Dots
kreisförmig über- und nebeneinander. Gemeinsam bilden sie ein
floral anmutendes Element. Wie Blätter oder Blüten öffnen sich
die Dots nach oben heraus.
Die Brillantreihe liegt wie ein Schimmer auf der Fläche die die
runde Formgebung unterstreicht.
The round elements in the Dots collection gather into a playful
circle, lining up side by side and overlapping. Together they take
the form of a floral element. Like leaves or petals, the dots open
outward and upward, toward the sky.
A delicate line of gemstones shimmers across the surface, gently
underscoring the curved contour.

Solaris | kinetic ring
Die feinen Details der klassischeleganten Kollektion „Solaris“
erzeugen ein Spiel mit Licht und Schatten. Filigrane Einschnitte
säumen einen goldenen Kreis der durch leichte Verformungen an
Volumen gewinnt. Die Facetten reflektieren das einfallende Licht
und es entsteht die Anmutung einer kleinen Sonne.
The fine detailing of the classically elegant “Solaris” collection
creates a play between light and shade. Delicate incisions line
the circumference of a golden circle allowing the slightest of
deformations to increase its volume. The facets reflect incident
light creating the appearance of a small sun.

auf der linken Wange ist auf der Oberfläche
des Ringes ein Punkt aus 18-karätigem Gold
eingefasst. Eines ihrer bekanntesten Lieder ist:
„Diamonds are a girl’s best friend“ - und darum gibt
es den Ring jetzt auch mit einem Diamanten als
beauty spot. Für seine Herstellung verwenden wir das
edle und extrem stoßfeste Phenolharz Aramith
in zehn verschiedenen Farben. Und jetzt neu auch in
Edelstahl oder 18 Karat Gelbgold!
Marilyn Ring
This ring, with its beauty spot, is reminiscent of
Marilyn Monroe, who was loved for her natural beauty
and manner. In memory of this movie icon, we
have embellished the surface of each Aramith ring with
a small dot of 18 karat yellow gold. The range of colors

Orbit 4er
(engl. Himmelsbahn, umkreisen)
Ein ellipsenförmiger Weg beschreibt die immer gleiche Bahn eines
Himmelskörpers um die Sonne.
Die Kollektion Orbit vereinigt drei oder vier Ellipsen wie Himmelsbahnen zu einem raumgreifenden Schmuckstück.
In einer Momentaufnahme entsteht eine komplexe Form deren Ursprung ein einfacher Kreis ist.
An elliptical rotation describes the ever constant path of a celestial body around the sun.
The orbit collection unites three or four ellipses, or orbits, to produce a spatial piece of jewelry.
Instantaneously a complex form is created, the origin of which is
a simple circle.
Rosen
Ein einziges, raffi niert geschlungenes goldenes Band reicht, um
eine Rose voller emotionaler Tiefe und subtiler Poesie entstehen zu
lassen.
A single, sophisticatedly wound strip of gold is enough to embody
a rose, full of emotional depth and subtle poetry.

Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach
Geboren 1946 in Gladbeck. 1971 Meisterprüfung. Diplom FH Düsseldorf
1974. Ateliergründung 1975. Seit 1987 Galerietätigkeit in Düsseldorf.
Zwei frühe Ringe aus 1969 und 1971 weisen bereits deutliche Bezüge zur
damals gültigen Bildhauerei, wie auch zum Design der 1960er Jahre auf.
Typisch für meine Schmucklinien sind geometrische Klarheit und fühlbare
Emotionalität. Mein Interesse für die Kinetik wurde von Professor Friedrich
Becker an der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf geweckt. Das Phänomen der Bewegung, ein Beitrag der italienischen Futuristen zur Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts, faszinierte ich mich auch nach meinem Diplom im Jahre 1974.
In meiner Suche nach einem eigenen Weg ließ ich meine Arbeit am kinetischen Schmuck drei Dekaden lang ruhen und habe erst 2000 wieder neue
kinetische Ringe präsentiert. Ab 1990 sollten Zuchtperlen im Kontext mit
modernen geometrischen Formen meine Kollektionen als weiteres wichtiges
Thema bereichern.
1987 habe ich gemeinsam mit meiner Partnerin Frau Waltraut Reis zunächst
die Schmuckgalerie ‚Pavé’ in Düsseldorf eröffnet. 1993 bin ich in die Neubrückstraße 4 umgezogen (nahe der Kunsthalle). Dort freue ich mich, Düsseldorf mit einem auch überregional wahrgenommenen Forum für zeitgenössischen Schmuck bereichern zu können.
Auszeichnungen
Für außergewöhnliche Leistungen wurde ich bei wichtigen Wettbewerben,
teils sogar mit ersten Preisen, ausgezeichnet:

the period, as well as echoes of 1960s design.
My jewelry is characterized by geometric clarity and tangible emotionality.
My interest in kinetics was awakened by Professor Friedrich Becker at the FH
Düsseldorf (University of Applied Sciences). The phenomenon of motion, a
gift of the Italian Futurists to 20th century art, continued to fascinate me
long after I had completed my studies in 1974.
As I searched for my own path and style, my work on kinetic jewelry lay dormant for three decades. It wasn’t until the year 2000 that I presented new
kinetic rings. From 1990 onwards, cultured pearls in the context of modern,
geometric forms would become a further important theme of my collections.
In 1987, I first opened the Pavé jewelry gallery in Düsseldorf with my
partner Waltraut Reis. I moved into Neubrückstraße 4, close to the Kunsthalle, in 1993. It gives me great personal satisfaction to be able to enrich the
Düsseldorf scene with a forum for contemporary jewelry which enjoys a fine
reputation both at home and abroad.
