In Sachsen studieren
Sachsen ist ein erstklassiges Hochschulland. Über 300 Studiengänge
bieten mehr als 100.000 Studentinnen und Studenten, darunter 10.000
aus dem Ausland, ein vielseitiges und modernes Studienangebot. Sie
können sich entscheiden für international anerkannte Bachelor- und
Masterabschlüsse und renommierte Diplomstudiengänge im Ingenieurbereich. Hier ist Sachsen besonders stark: Fast 30 Prozent der Studierenden sind in den ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Studiengängen eingeschrieben.
Sachsen bietet eine hervorragende Ausbildung – und das ohne Studiengebühren. Es erwartet Sie ein effizienter Studienaufbau, verbunden mit
guter Betreuung. Deshalb ist auch in den meisten Studiengängen die
Studiendauer in Sachsen kürzer als im Bundesdurchschnitt. Die sächsischen Hochschulen sind mit modernen Laboren, Bibliotheken und
Computerarbeitsplätzen hervorragend ausgestattet - von 1991 bis 2008
hat Sachsen drei Milliarden Euro in den Ausbau der Universitäten,
Kunsthochschulen und Fachhochschulen investiert.
Beste Aussichten gibt’s auch auf einen guten Job in Wirtschaft oder
Wissenschaft in Sachsen: Viele Unternehmen freuen sich in den nächsten Jahren auf gut ausgebildete Fachkräfte. Wer wissenschaftlich
arbeiten möchte, findet ein dichtes Netz von exzellenten Forschungseinrichtungen. Insgesamt 50 außeruniversitäre Forschungsinstitute
arbeiten im Freistaat, nur wenige deutsche Bundesländer erreichen
diese Vielfalt.

Studying in Saxony
College and University Landscape
Saxony has a long-standing tradition as a first-class address for
university study opportunities. More than 300 degree programmes
provide a multi-faceted, up-to-date course offering to more than
100,000 students, with 10 percent of the current student body being
international students.
You can opt for internationally recognized Bachelor and Master Degree
programmes as well as excellent German “Diplom” courses within the
Engineering sciences. Saxony has been particularly advanced in this
field: nearly 30 percent of the students are enrolled in Engineering.
Saxony offers excellent tertiary education – and with no tuition fees.
Students enjoy both efficient study programmes and excellent supervision, with the average study time spent for most degree programmes
being shorter than the German national average. The universities and
colleges in Saxony are superbly equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries and computer workstations. From 1991 to 2008, the
German Free State of Saxony invested three billion euros into the development of the universities, universities of fine arts and universities
of applied sciences.
Career opportunities in both commerce and science abound in Saxony.
Many businesses look forward to employing well-trained professionals
in the upcoming years. Those interested in the field of research, will
discover a broad network of excellent research facilities. A total of
50 non-university research institutes are located in the Free State of
Saxony. Only a few German federal states have achieved this level of
