POR TFO LIO IAN MUSGROVE TYPOGRAFIE & Formenlehre This task was to create a pattern with different kind of shapes and colours. I used the computer programme Adobe Illustrator to create the different shapes, like the squares and circles and also to put them together as a pattern. I decided to only use black and white, because I thought it worked better and because it had a bigger impact. Here I chose to work with circular shapes made out of curved lines and put together to make it a circular shape. This task was to create a pattern with different kind of shapes and colours. This task was to create a pattern with different kind of shapes and colours. I used the computer programme Adobe Illustrator to create the different shapes, like the squares and circles and also to put them together as a pattern. I decided to only use black and white, because I thought it worked better and because it had a bigger impact. Here i chose to work with circles again and I put together two different kinds of circular shapes that I experimented with before putting them together.. This one I find interesting, for it created an affect that the circles threw shadows on the background. A F U K Here are three posters of a party, that I designed with the computer programme InDesign. I tried out different kinds of styles here. The first one was based on the idea of putting the text into shapes, which I thought worked allright in this case. The second one I tried to loosely put the text around the objects in the poster. The third poster was a try where I made the text into shapes, like a colourd rectangle. 10: 00–03: 30 E T U LE 10:00 - 03:30 0 8001 Zürich Pelikanstrasse 10 Y A T P R 0 8001 Zürich Pelikanstrasse 10 PARTY PELIKANSTRASSE 100 8001 ZÜRICH This was a task to create an interesting shape by cutting out one piece after another out of paper. By using six pieces of paper at the same time I made it possible to see the development of the shape and transformation. I tried to create excitement with the difference in size and the ratio of empty space and the black paper. I found it a very interesting way to transform absolutely anything, because there are no limits to the possible transformations and changes you can make or cut out. bildwelten This is the picture I photoshopped for my application sheet. It is put together with three different pictures. Two pictures of me sitting somewhere and a picture of a fire on a beach. I cut out myself and set myself on the beach. I also coloured in the fire with strange colours, to give the picture some suspense. I also created the shadows myself. I had a lot of fun doing this, because I love to change a picture into something completely different just with a couple of mouse-clicks. These are two analogue portrait collages. They both have me inside them and were made with cut-outs from magazines and newspapers. I tried to bring a certain style into each one of them and a certain theme. My theme in these two were «Superhero» and I put a statue of a man in each one. I tried to stay in a single hue of a colour, so that there was a connection between the cut-outs on one collage. After sticking it all together I scanned it and also used photoshop to make some colour adjustments. These are two analogue collages where the goal was to hide myself in the picture and to make myself blend in with the background. I used pictures from magazines and newspapers and cut them out and put together the collages. To blend myself into the background I used photoshop and painted my clothes in the pattern of the background. That way I am hard to find and look like a part of the colourfull patterns in the back. These are two sketches of a dog made with ink. The aim was to get the direction and the strukture of the fur right. The big picture is a drawing of a dog with ink. My aim here is to differentiate between the gaps of the lines to create darker and lighter spots. It was a more graphical approach and I also enjoyed it more. This is a series of paintings that I did with ink and a brush. It›s a story about a man finding a bag and reaching into it and finding something unexpected. I didn›t use any other colours, for it had a bigger impact, especially with the face in the dark abyss. I used a lot of water to create the greys and to make the colours run into each other. DIGITALES GESTALTEN This is a digital collage that I put together on photoshop with a photograph and other pictures I found. I cut out different shapes and patterns and put them together in an interesting way. I decided that the colour red would be the overall hue of the picture, to make it fit together better. I also used the effect of shadows behind every layer to give it more depth. This is a digitalisation of a painting I made of my bag. I used the pro- This is a version where I changed all the colours around with photoshop This is a version where I changed all the colours around with photoshop This is a version where i changed all the colours around with photoshop gramm photoshop to turn it into coloured surfaces of greys, blacks, and completely changed the picture and its effect. I find it interesting to ting. transorm a picture just by changing all the colours. It shows how big a change you can make with such small tools. FOTOGRAFIE This is a photograph I spontaneously took of myself while walking around the city. I find it an intriguing picture because of all the things you can find in it and because of the colours. I am standing behind a piece of art in Zürich that had a big hole in it and long cracks running down it. I am looking through the hole right at the camera and all of my face apart from my eye isn't visible because of the cracks. This is a photograph of me and a friend of mine dancing in the street. I took the picture with a long lighting time, so that our movements go all fuzzy and blurred. It looks like the picture itself is moving. This is a photograph that I took of smoke. It was difficult to make the smoke freeze on the picture because it was so translucent. The end result is amazing though, because if you look carefully you can see a lot of things and creatures in the smoke. I personally see a horse or a dog. FARBGESTALTUNG These are gouache paintings of a sector of an oil lamp. I chose a pinkish salmon colour for the background because it fitted well with the yellow and gold. You can see the development and progress that I made. This is the large version of the gouache painting of the oil lamp. I tried to get the colours and the highlights of the metal right. I think the shadow succeeded very well. ZEICHNEN This is a drawing with a black marker pen of a crumpled piece of tin foil. I had to decide which surfaces to colour black and white and how to make it look three-dimensional. I think it looks like a section of some mountains. This is a painting of two sweets. The aim was to get the colours right and to make a visible two-aligned perspective. I like the way the colours of the wrapping and the sweets themselves work together and how the shadows make it look more three-dimensional. KOERPER RAUM FARBE This is a photograph of a sculpture I made out of paper and the room that I also made myself. The sculpture itself was made by cutting into the single pieces of paper and folding them together and then sticking them together to create something similar to a bowl. I created the room with photoshop to bend the walls to make an illusion.
