Help out, learn some tricks or just sit down for a tasty experience and good conversations... The Real Junk Food Project Berlin is part of a global voluntary-run food waste campaign, a collaborative effort to bring about a radical change in our food system. Their first step to achieve this challenging task is to intercept perfectly edible food that would otherwise not make it to plate and serve it as meals in the café or distribute it through their food boutique. As well as the positive environmental impacts of reducing edible food waste the project also has clear social benefits through operating a strictly Pay-asyou-feel (PAYF) policy . PAYF offers an alternative to the conventional the payment system as there is no price on any produce of the café. Their system transcends monetary transactions and liberates people to use their skills and attributes as well as money to pay for their meals. Furthermore, they aim to highlight the absurdity that the produce they use has been stripped of its monetary value but still retains its nutritional value. By making people think about what they wish to contribute for their meals, the idea is to get society thinking about how they value food as a resource. https://realjunkfoodberlin.wordpress.com 18.00... Ever since he supports and documents the Honduran's evolving philosophy "The Human Farm". In an environment of curruption, crime, pollution and drug cartels the local farmers of the fair trade coffee cooperative COMSA understand the importance of the balance of nature. They want the new generation to be different." http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/en/farmers-and-workers/coffee/comsa http://www.bunnymission.org/index.php 21. 00... UNDUNE – The Movie Film screening Undune is a documentary about Terra Preta, Feces & Mars. Terra Preta: a way to create a fertile, black soil out of our feces. Yes, feces, turds, poop, number 2, whatever you want to call them, they’re inevitable and – strangely enough – valuable. In a mixture of fiction and documentary, Undune tackles this everyday taboo – and dares to ask: are we wasting our waste when we flush? Undune tells the story of Gregor, a young physicist who wants to help colonize Mars. Through interviews with Terra-Preta pioneers, Gregor begins to construct a method for making human excrement usable on the red planet. His interviewees believe in Terra Pretas’ potential to save our planet, but Gregor seems to be more interested in cloaking his surroundings in daydreams, including brief episodes that follow the discoveries of a space explorer who’s been stranded on Earth. With the skewed perspective of a true outsider, the explorer comments on mankind’s peculiarities – including our fascination with wasting our waste. UNDUNE will make you ask yourself: Is there such a thing as useless shit? http://www.undune.de/en/undune-the-movie 9(9)
