Introduction
Background
The International Distance Learning Programme is a joint initiative between the Turku University
of Applied Sciences and WWEDU, World Wide Education, Austria.
The objective of the programme is to offer professional specialization courses of Turku University
of Applied Sciences to students irrespective of their location without compromising on quality.
Students get access to the same high-quality education that we are proud to deliver to our
students.
Recognition of Professional Specialization Studies
Professional specialization studies are part of adult education and they aim to develop already
acquired skills and knowledge in a certain field of specialization.
The Turku University of Applied Sciences is established under the Polytechnics Act 315/2003
under government decree on UAS/Polytechnics (352/2003 including amendments) which defines
the objectives, extent and overall structure of UAS / polytechnic degrees.
The Ministry of Education confirms the degree programmes of UAS / polytechnics, and within the
framework of these regulations, the UAS / polytechnics decide on the content and structure of
their programmes in more detail.
The UAS / polytechnics also decide on their annual curricula and forms of instruction. The
universities of applied sciences provide education for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, which
are professionally oriented.
Under separate regulations concerning continuing education, täydennuskoulutus”, Universities of
Applied Sciences are allowed to offer professional specialisation programmes that enhance the
professional development of adult students.
The executive Master of Business Administration Programme of the University is a continuing
education programme that awards students the title Executive Master of Business Administration
(eMBA) [Non-degree Programme].
The specialization studies at Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences are based on the Act
351/2003, Ordinance 352/2003 and Ordinance 256/1995 issued on Universities of Applied
Sciences studies.
The Executive MBA will be audited and certified by the Turku University of Applied Sciences as
part of the Continuing Education Programme and accepted by WWEDU World Wide Education.
The title awarded for the graduate is the Executive MBA Diploma.

About the Executive MBA
The Executive Master’s programme has been designed to increase the ability and readiness of
the student to face and manage the changes in working environment.
This programme will increase the opportunities in applying for more challenging positions and
give skills and knowledge for becoming an entrepreneur or managing innovation and change in
organisations.
The general objective of the post/graduate level of professional specialisation studies in university
of applied sciences is to correspond to the demand of higher skills and expertise in business life.
The aim of the programme, based on the requirements proposed by development of the work life,
is to equip the student with an adequate knowledge and skills to be able to work in management,
development and other specialist tasks in business.
The Programme is provided by the Business and Life Science Faculty of the Turku University of
Applied Sciences and delivered via distance learning by WWEDU World Wide Education.
General Management
The objective of this programme is to provide students in full time employment with the praxisoriented knowledge and skills required to successfully accomplish management assignments.
Taken into account is the demand for internationalisation, the constantly increasing orientation
towards market economies, the use of new information and communication technologies and
increasing inter-cultural challenges.
The modular structure of the studies together with the pallet of lecture blocks and distance
study elements (streaming, learning on demand, offline learning) provided, is geared towards the
special situation of students in full time employment.
The management and specialist positions in internationalising small and medium sized companies
operating in an environment of fierce competition are demanding more and more specialised
skills. There is a demand for commercialisation of innovations both in high-tech and in-growth
service companies.
Deeper knowledge is also required in project management and implementation of R&D projects.

IT Management Specialisation
The ICT industry is a fast-moving yet fragmented. For firms to succeed, they need to understand the
complexity of the industry and to identify the core competences that drive organizational outcomes.
The course emphasizes the business processes in the development and commercialisation of
ICT products and services. Special attention will be given to outsourcing in the ICT industry. The
MBA with specialisation in IT Management is designed for professionals in the ICT industry with
the aim to developing their skills in business orientation to ICT and software design.
The programme offers in-depth knowledge in the design, development, commercialisation and
internationalisation of ICT products. It also looks at the transfer, adoption and diffusion of ICT.

HOW TO APPLY
Application deadlines
There are no application deadlines. Due to the distance learning nature of the studies, students
can begin their studies at any time.
Admission Requirements
Applicants should generally meet the admission requirements to a Post-Graduate Studies
Finland. Candidates must also have at least 3 years work experience. Work experience could be
experience gained while taking a degree, professional studies or after graduation. Applicants to
the Executive MBA must be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Professional or vocational postsecondary certificate with relevant work experience.
In determining the eligibility for studies, students will also be evaluated on their non-diploma
education and training which may be counted into credits.

Candidates should fill in the Application form at the end of this document and return by surface
mail or email to WWEDU Worldwide Education ([email protected]). Once an application has
been received, Turku University of Applied Sciences will make a decision about the eligibility of
candidates.
Please allow a period of at least 4 weeks from the day of submitting your applications for
processing.

Einführung
Hintergrund
Das Internationale Fernlehr-Programm ist eine gemeinsame Initiative der Turku University of
Applied Sciences und der WWEDU, World Wide Education GmbH, Österreich.
Das Ziel des Programms ist es, Studenten ortsunabhängig und ohne Qualitätsverlust „professionell specialization courses“ der Turku University of Applied Sciences anzubieten. Studenten
bekommen so Zugang zu derselben hoch-qualitativen Ausbildung, wie wir sie gewöhnlich unseren Studenten bieten.
Anerkennung von Professional Specialization Studies
Professional Specialization Studies sind Bestandteil der Erwachsenenbildung und zielen darauf ab, bereits erworbene Fähigkeiten und Wissen in bestimmten Bereichen weiterzuentwickeln.
Die Turku University of Applied Sciences wurde gemäß dem Polytechnics Act 315/2003 in Verbindung mit dem Regierungsdekret UAS/Fachhochschulen (352/2003 einschließlich Novellen und
Ergänzungen), welches die Ziele, das Ausmaß und die generelle Struktur von UAS/FachhochschulGraden regelt, eingerichtet.
Das Bildungsministerium bestätigt die Programme mit Graden der UAS/Fachhochschulen, und innerhalb dieses rechtlichen Rahmens entscheiden die UAS/Fachhochschulen über den Inhalt und die
Struktur ihrer Programme im Detail.
Die UAS/Fachhochschulen entscheiden weiters über ihre jährlichen Curricula und die Form der
Lehre. Die Universities of Applied Sciences bieten Ausbildungen für Bachelor- und Master-Grade an,
welche berufsorientiert sind.
Gemäß anderweitiger Regelungen in Bezug auf Weiterbildung, „täydennuskoulutus“, dürfen Universities of Applied Sciences „professional specialization studies“ anbieten, welche die berufliche Weiterentwicklung von erwachsenen Studenten fördern.
Das Executive Master of Business Administration Programm der TUAS ist ein Weiterbildungslehrgang, welcher mit dem Titel Executive Master of Business Adminstration (eMBA) abschließt
(Non-degree Programm).
Die Specialication Studies an finnischen Universities of Applied Sciences basieren auf dem Gesetz
351/2003, den Verordnungen 352/2003 und 256/1995 betreffend Studien an Universities of Applied
Sciences.
Da die, Titelführbarkeit nicht einheitlich geregelt ist, empfiehlt es sich im Zweifelsfall sich bei der
national zuständigen Behörde zu erkundigen.
Der Executive MBA wird geprüft und verliehen von der Turku University of Applied Sciences als
Abschluss des Weiterbildungslehrganges unter Mitarbeit von der WWEDU World Wide Education
GmbH. Der Titel wird dem Graduierenden mittels dem Executive MBA Diplom verliehen.

Über den Executive MBA
Das Executive Master Programm wurde entwickelt, um den Studenten zu befähigen, mit
Problemen im Arbeitsalltag umgehen und diese zu meistern zu können. Dieses Programm wird
die Möglichkeiten erweitern, sich um Positionen mit höheren Herausforderungen zu bewerben
und vermittelt die Fähigkeiten und das Wissen sich selbst unternehmerisch zu betätigen oder
Veränderung und Innovation in Organisationen zu managen.
Das generelle Ziel des post/graduate Levels von Professional Specialization Studies an
Universities of Applied Sciences ist es, die Nachfrage nach besseren Fähigkeiten und Expertise
im Geschäftsleben zu befriedigen.
Es ist das Ziel des Programms, basierend auf den Anforderungen, die durch die Weiterentwicklung
des Arbeitslebens vorgegeben werden, den Studierenden mit dem adäquaten Wissen und den
Fähigkeiten auszustatten, um im Management, der Entwicklung und anderen spezialisierten
Teilaufgaben arbeiten zu können.
Das Programm wird von der Fakultät für Business und Life Sciences der Turku University of
Applied Sciences entwickelt und wird in Zusammenarbeit mit WWEDU in Form der Fernlehre
durchgeführt.
General Management
Das Ziel dieses Programms ist es, Studenten mit Vollzeitbeschäftigung mit dem praxis-orientierten
Wissen und den nötigen Fähigkeiten auszustatten, um erfolgreich Managementaufgaben erfüllen
zu können. Die Nachfrage nach Internationalisierung, die beständig ansteigende Orientierung
hin zu Marktwirtschaften, die Verwendung von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien
sowie interkulturelle Herausforderungen werden berücksichtigt. Die modulare Struktur der
Studien zusammen mit Vorlesungsblöcken und anderen Fernlehrelementen (Streaming,
Lernen auf Bestellung, Offline-Lernen) ist eigens abgestimmt auf die spezielle Situation von
vollzeitbeschäftigten Studierenden. Die Management- und Spezialistenpositionen in sich
international ausrichtenden kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen, welche in einer Umwelt mit
starkem Wettbewerb agieren, verlangen mehr und mehr spezialisierte Fähigkeiten. Es besteht
Bedarf an der Kommerzialisierung von Innovationen sowohl in High-Tech-Unternehmen als
auch bei wachsenden Dienstleistungsunternehmen. Tiefergehendes Wissen wird ebenfalls im
Projektmanagement und bei der Implementierung von R&D Projekten vermittelt.

IT Management Spezialisierung
Die ICT Industrie bewegt sich rasch, ist aber dennoch zersplittert. Damit Unternehmen Erfolg haben
können, müssen sie die Komplexität der Industrie verstehen und in der Lage sein, die Kernkompetenzen,
welche die organisationalen Ergebnisse vorantreiben, identifizieren zu können. Der Lehrgang
behandelt insbesondere die Geschäftsprozesse bei der Entwicklung und Kommerzialisierung von
ICT Produkten und Dienstleistungen. Spezielle Aufmerksamkeit wird dem Outsourcing in der ICT
Industrie gewidmet. Der MBA mit der Spezialisierung in IT Management ist für Experten aus der
ICT Industrie entwickelt worden; mit dem Ziel die Fähigkeiten weiter auszubauen in Hinsicht auf
Geschäftsorientierung hin zu ICT und Software-Design. Das Programm bietet detailliertes Wissen
in Bezug auf Design, Entwicklung, Kommerzialisierung und Internationalisierung von ICT Produkten.
Weiters wird der Transfer, die Übernahme und die Verbreitung von ICT behandelt.

Anmeldung
Anmeldefristen
Es gibt keine Anmeldefristen. Aufgrund der Natur der Fernlehrstudien kann der Student jederzeit
sein Studium aufnehmen.
Zulassungskriterien
Im Allgemeinen sollten Interessenten die Zulassungskriterien für postgraduale Studien in
Finnland erfüllen. Zusätzlich müssen die Kandidaten mindestens eine 3-jährige Berufserfahrung
nachweisen. Berufserfahrung kann gesammelt werden während eines regulären Studiums,
während eines Weiterbildungsstudiums oder auch nach dem Abschluss eines solchen.
Interessenten für den Executive MBA müssen zumindest einen Bachelorabschluss oder einen
Professional- oder postsekundären Abschluss im Weiterbildungsbereich zusammen mit der
relevanten Berufserfahrung nachweisen. Im Rahmen der Evaluierung der Eignung für das Studium
werden auch nichtakademische Ausbildungen miteinbezogen.
Anleitung für die Bewerbung
Interessenten füllen den Bewerbungsbogen am Ende dieses Dokuments aus und schicken
