“This is how Verdi should be played!”
Unitel presents in collaboration with Teatro Regio di Parma, where most of the operas have been produced, as well as with RAI
and further theatres and partners on the occasion of Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birthday the probably most ambitious project since
Mozart22 at the Salzburg Festival: the audiovisual recording of all 26 Verdi operas and the Messa da Requiem!
Tutto Verdi ‘10 Minute’ Introductions
Available for each of the 26 Tutto Verdi operas are short introductions with a length of ten minutes each, which not only tell us the storyline of the respective opera work, point out the musical highlights and references, but also put the same into personal and historical
context. Context like the death of his two children and his beloved wife within three consecutive years at a very young age, or the failure
of Opera premieres, such as the one of La Traviata at La Fenice, and of course the struggle of Italy for independence and unification. For
Verdi, who was a fervent patriot, this was a constant subject which he addresses in many of his operas.
ERNANI
For the first time ever Verdi’s complete operatic oeuvre – his labor of more than 50 years – is available in High Definition and
with surround sound: Starting off with his first opera Oberto and ending with his last opera Falstaff, including of course all of his
great operatic “hits”, which make Verdi the most played opera composer of today, but also the lesser known gems and masterpieces – all of which in a musical quality and staging, that made the critic of the respected German newspaper Frankfurter
Allgemeine Zeitung state “This is how Verdi should be played!”

International subtitles
For each of the 26 Tutto Verdi operas subtitles in the following languages are available:
Italian (Original language), English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

“Verdi’s Backyard”
Documentary by Sergej Grguric - Length 52’ - Cat. no. A00550001
The documentary introduces us to the beautiful “homeland” of Verdi, the region of Parma. From the little village called Le Roncole in the
vicinity of Parma, where Verdi was born, to the estate close to Parma, to which Verdi - despite the great triumphs he celebrated in Milan,
Venice, Naples and other major cities – always came back to and chose to spend the most time of his life. We get to know how Verdi “lives
on” in the region and has even formed the area – from the everyday life of a simple peasant to the life of one of the biggest opera stars in
the world - Leo Nucci, whom is a regular guest at the Verdi Festival in Parma.
