Leuchtturm in Flammen
Das neue Jahr beginnt in Warnemünde mit einer spektakulären Neujahrsüberraschung. „Leuchtturm in
Flammen“ heißt die romantische Show mit Licht, Laser, Feuerwerk und Live-Performance, die jährlich
Zehntausende ins Ostseebad lockt.

The New Year in Warnemünde kicks off with a spectacular New Year’s surprise. “Lighthouse ablaze”
is the name of this romantic show of lights, lasers, fireworks and live performances that attracts
thousands of people to the seaside resort every year.

5. Warnemünder Wintervergnügen
Im Strandkorb mit Blick auf die Ostsee Glühwein trinken: Das fünfte Warnemünder Wintervergnügen
wird erneut zeigen, dass ein Ostseeurlaub auch bei winterlichen Temperaturen seine Reize hat. Am
Strand und rund um den Leuchtturm verspricht das Erlebniswochenende Fasching der Eisbader,
Pferderennen, Lagerfeuer und Drachenspektakel. Abends geht`s zum Leuchtturm-Winterrock.
5. Warnemünde Winter Fun
To sit in a beach basket with a view of the Baltic Sea and having some hot mulled wine: The 5th
„Warnemünde Winter Fun“ will once again prove that a Baltic Sea holiday is also attractive at winter
temperatures. On the beach and around the lighthouse, this promising adventure weekend features
the Carnival of the Ice-Swimmers, horse races, a campfire and a spectacular kite-event. In the
evenings we celebrate ‘Winter-Rock’ around the lighthouse.

Osterfeuer mit Blick aufs Meer
Jedes Jahr am Ostersonnabend erobern Touristen und Urlauber wieder den Warnemünder
Leuchtturm, um aus luftiger Höhe den Ausblick zu genießen. Höhepunkt des Tages ist das abendliche
Osterfeuer direkt am Strand. Mit stimmungsvoller Musik und Informationen über Osterbräuche der
Region wird im Seebad Warnemünde der Winter vertrieben. Kinder sind zur Fackelwanderung durch
Rostocks Seebad eingeladen.
Easter bonfire with a view of the sea
Every year on Easter Saturday, tourists and holidaymakers climb the lighthouse to enjoy the
panoramic view from above. The traditional highlight in the evening is the Easter bonfire right on the
beach. At the seaside resort Warnemünde, winter is expelled with atmospheric music and information
about local Easter traditions. Children are welcome to join a torchlight walk through Rostock’s seaside
resort.

11. Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften
Wie wird aus Wind und Licht Kunst entstehen? Werden Rawittchen und Schneepunzel durch die
Alchemie Gerechtigkeit erfahren? Und wie klingt eigentlich unsere schöne Hansestadt? Dies und
vieles mehr gibt es während der Langen Nacht der Wissenschaften zu erfahren. Abgesehen von
Vorträgen, Präsentationen und Schauvorlesungen, bei denen auch die Kandidaten des
Kommunikationswettbewerbes ihr Bestes geben, können die Nachtschwärmer Führungen durch die
teilnehmenden Einrichtungen und Institute erleben in einer bunten Nacht voller Wissenschaft und
Magie.
11. Long Night of Science
How will emerge art from wind and light? Will Schneepunzel and Rawittchen learn justice through the
alchemy? And actually how sounds our beautiful Hanseatic city? This and much more is to learn
during the Long Night of Science. Apart lectures, presentations and shows the participating
organisations and institutions can be experienced in a colorful night of magic and science.

„Stromerwachen“ ist Warnemündes Saisonauftakt
Mit dem „20. Strom-Erwachen“ beginnt im Seebad Warnemünde die Sommersaison. Eine
ausgedehnte Bummelmeile mit Marktständen und kulinarischen Leckereien lädt entlang des Alten
Stroms ein. Musik und Unterhaltung gehören zum Programm.

The summer season at the seaside resort Warnemünde starts with the “20 River awakening”
(Strom-Erwachen). An extensive line of market stalls and culinary delights along the Alter Strom invite
visitors to take a stroll. The program includes music and entertainment.

Beach Polo Ostsee Cup Warnemünde
Der Warnemünder Strand wird erneut Kulisse für ein internationales Beach Polo Turnier. Besucher
erleben den aufregenden Sport kostenfrei und rund um die Beach Polo Arena gibt es ein
Rahmenprogramm für die ganze Familie. Die Stallzelte sind für Besucher während des Turniers
zugänglich und alle Spiele werden fachkundig moderiert. In exklusiver Lage befindet sich außerdem
eine VIP Lounge, die es den Gästen ermöglicht, einen Luxus-Sport-Tag hautnah am Strand zu
erleben.
Beach Polo Cup Warnemünde
The beach of Warnemünde is once again the setting for an international Beach Polo tournament.
Visitors can experience the exciting sport free of charge while around the Beach Polo arena there will
be a program for the entire family. The stables are open for visitors during the tournament and all
games will be professionally presented by experts. An exclusively located VIP Lounge allows guest to
experience a luxury sporting day right at the beach.

16. Klassik-Nacht im Zoo
Einmal im Jahr ist der Rostocker Zoo die ungewöhnliche Kulisse für ein thematisches Klassikkonzert
unter Sternen. Nach dem Konzert der Norddeutschen Philharmonie Rostock beginnt die
Mondscheinexpedition durch den größten Zoo an der deutschen Ostseeküste.

Once a year, Rostock Zoo forms the unusual backdrop for a classical concert beneath starlit skies.
After the concert of the North German Philharmonic Orchestra Rostock starts the moonlight expedition
through the largest zoo on the Baltic Sea coast.

After the successful start in 2012 awaits you again sport and fun at the Warnemünde beach. The
games and sports beach – the ACTIVE BEACH WARNEMÜNDE – invites young and old of to an
active rest with beach soccer, beach volleyball and other sports. You can use eight playing fields with
varied sports program, first-class equipment and a qualified training team on 7,500 m² directly on the
Baltic Sea.

796. Stadtgeburtstag der Hansestadt Rostock
Jedes Jahr feiert die Hansestadt Rostock Ihren Jahrestag der Stadtrechtsbestätigung. Im Jahr 2014
sind es genau 796. Jahre. Während eines historischen Stadtrundganges, der durch den Rostocker
Stadtführerverein organisiert wird, erfahren Besucher Wissenswertes und Unterhaltsames zur
Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft der Hansestadt Rostock. Sieben Böller zu Ehren der Stadt
sind das Highlight eines jeden Jahres.
796th birthday of the Hanseatic City of Rostock
Every year the Hanseatic City of Rostock celebrates its anniversary of the city law confirmation. In the
year 2014 it is exactly 796. years. During a historical guided tour, organised by the Rostock City Guide
Club, visitors learn interesting facts and entertaining to the past, present, and future of the Hanseatic
City of Rostock. The highlight of each year are seven cannons in honor of the city.

77. Warnemünder Woche
Segelsport der Extraklasse in einem der schönsten Segelreviere der Welt verspricht die 77.
Warnemünder Woche. Mehr als 2.000 aktive Segler und Surfer kämpfen vor Warnemündes Küste um
Weltranglisten-Punkte in allen olympischen Bootsklassen, rund 200 Wassersportler wetteifern um den
Laser-Europacup. Für den attraktiven „Landgang“ sorgen Waschzuberspektakel, Drachenbootrennen,
Shantysingen am Leuchtturm, Warnemünder Trachtentreffen, Beach-Handballtage und das bunte
Warnemünder Sommerfest auf dem Leuchtturmvorplatz, der Promenade und am Alten Strom. Den
Auftakt bildet alljährlich der „Niege Ümgang“ – ein traditioneller Festumzug durch den historischen
Ortskern.

77 Warnemünde Week
th
The 77 Warnemünde week promises top-class sailing in one of the world‘s most beautiful sailing
areas. Every year, more than 2,000 regular sailors and surfers compete for world rankings in all
Olympic boat classes just off the coast of Warnemünde and 200 aquatic athletes vie for the Laser
European Cup. An attractive “shore leave“ is guaranteed by the traditional “Waschzuberspektakel” (a
wash tub race), a dragon boat race, shanty singing at the lighthouse, Warnemünde’s garbs meeting,
days of Beach Handball and the colorful Warnemünde summer festival on the lighthouse square, the
promenade and the Alter Strom ensure the event. Every year, the “Niege Ümgang”- a traditional
procession through the historical center is the opening.

24. Hanse Sail Rostock

weltweit größten maritimen Feste. Vier Tage im August sind im Stadthafen und in Warnemünde
imposante Windjammer, Traditionssegler und Museumsschiffe zu Gast. Hanse Sail Rostock heißt
dieses großartige Treffen der schönen Schiffe, das mehr als eine Million Besucher aus dem In- und
Ausland anzieht. Zu den Sail-Höhepunkten im Stadthafen und in Warnemünde zählen die Regatta der
Traditionssegler, Feuerwerke sowie Musik und bunte Märkte.

Barques, brigs and schooners create a magical romantic atmosphere at Rostock’s quaysides during
one of the greatest maritime festivals in the world. For four days in August, Warnemünde and the
Rostock City Harbour will host impressive windjammers, traditional sailing ships and museum ships.
Hanse Sail Rostock is the name of this fantastic rendezvous of majestic ships attracting more than one
million guests from home and abroad. Among the highlights of the Hanse Sail Rostock are the
regattas of the traditional ships, firework displays, music and colourful markets.

Lange Nacht der Museen Rostock
Mehr Zeit für Rostocks Schätze haben Besucher während der Langen Nacht der Museen. Einmal im
Jahr öffnen Rostocks Ausstellungshäuser Ihre Türen bis weit nach Mitternacht. Über 15 Museen und
Einrichtungen bieten dabei interessante Einblicke in die Geschichte Rostocks und erlebnisreiche
Programmpunkte. Die Eintrittskarte gilt auch für den Bus- und Schiffs-Shuttle.

Visitors will have more time for Rostock's treasures during the long night of the museums. Once a
year, Rostock’s exhibition halls open their doors until well after midnight. More than 15 museums and
institutions offer interesting insights into the history of Rostock and exciting programs. The ticket is
also valid for the bus and boat shuttle.

In verschieden Restaurants erleben Sie Theaterkunst hautnah im kulinarischen Ambiente. Während

2-3 Personen, verschiedene 5-8-minütige Kurzprogramme. Anschließend wechseln die Künstler in das
nächste Restaurant und Sie können sich auf eine neue Perfomance freuen.
Art meets cuisine
Experience a close up of theater in the culinary ambience of various restaurants in Rostock. While you
eat and enjoy, groups of artists (2 to 3 people) of the Volkstheater Rostock present different short
programs of 5 to 8 minutes. Following that, artists move on to the next restaurant and you can look
forward to another performance.

Rostocks historisches Stadtzentrum erstrahlt in festlichem Lichterglanz. Der größte Weihnachtsmarkt
im Norden lädt zu einem Bummel ein zwischen Neuem Markt, Kröpeliner Tor und dem Stadthafen. Ob
kulinarisches Erlebnis mit Glühwein, Weihnachtsgebäck und Rostocker Rauchwurst, ob besinnliches
Vergnügen oder lustiges Weihnachtsprogramm für Kinder. Auf Besucher warten Geschenke für den
Gabentisch, aber auch Karussells, Riesenrad und Livemusik.
The largest Christmas fair in the North
Rostock’s historic city centre shines in a blaze of lights. The largest Christmas market in the north of
Germany invites visitors for a stroll from Neuer Markt to Kröpeliner Tor and down to the city harbour.
Whether it’s a culinary experience with hot mulled wine, Christmas biscuits and Rostock smoked
sausages, or whether it’s devotional amusements or a funny Christmas program for kids. Waiting for
visitors are presents for under the tree, but also roundabouts, a huge Ferris wheel plus live music.
