3rd Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Conference
Oberpfaffenhofen/Herrsching – A conference on “Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems” (ASMS) organized by the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt
(DLR) will be held from May 29th through 31st at the hotel “Andechser Hof” in Herrsching by the shore of the Lake Ammersee (about 40 km South-West of Munich). This conference, which is of equal importance for both the industry and research institutes, offers a forum for exchanging information on the latest developments and technologies in satellite-based mobile, broadband and broadcast communication systems. Convergence is in fact the keyword of the 3rd ASMS Conference, organized by the DLR Institute for Communication and Navigation on behalf of the ASMS Task Force (ASMS-TF) in cooperation with ESA-ESTEC, the Satellite Communications Network of Excellence (SatNEx) coordinated by DLR and the EU-SSA MoSSA. The conference is also sponsored by well-known national and international companies such as Inmarsat, TriaGnoSys, NDSatCom, Mavigex and Esys. Topics of the Herrsching conference, which at first revolved around satellite communication for mobile communications, now also include broadband & broadcast, as well as the integration with navigation (GPS and GALILEO) and terrestrial communication systems. interesting series of keynote speeches on May 30 , 2006 will feature international speakers, representatives of corporations such as Connexion By Boing, Inmarsat, Alcatel, Alenia Space as well as the president of Shin Satellite, Thailand.
