JEAN-PIERRE ARNAUD, born in 1959, received the premier prix de hautbois in 1982
at the Conservatoire de Paris where he was a student of Mr. Pierre Pierlot. Arnaud
is Solo English Horn in the Paris Opera Orchestra , a positionhe has held since
1984. He has been first prize winner at the Ancona Competition 1981 and at the
Radio France and French Solo Artists Guild Competition in Paris 1982. Since 1983
he has toured with the Solisti Veneti, performing at the Festivals of Montreux,
Salzburg, Rome, Prades and Ascona. H e is heard regularly on Radio France as a
chamber musician with Quintet Rigodon, l'Octuor à Vent de Paris and 1'Ensemble
de Creation de Musique Contemporaine

SERGIO AZZOLINI studied from 1978-85 in Bolzano/Italy at
the Conservatorio Claudio

INGOLF BORK, born.1951 in Dortmund, studied electro-technology
and acoustics at the Ruhr University in Bochum. Further-studies
towards becoming a sound engineer at the Northwest German Music
Academy in Detmold with emphasis on piano. Doctorate in 1983 at the technical
University in Braunschweig on the tuning of Glockenspiels. Employed since 1979
in the Laboratory for Musical Acoustics at the Federal Institute of Physics and
Technology. Hisinvestigations onpercussioninstruments and Traverse fluteshave
been published.,
BUCHARD BULLING, geb. l926, war, bevore er Bibliothekar wurde, 10
Jahre als Fagottist bei Radio Bremen

Bläserquintetts. Bei der Stadtbibiothek Bremen baute e,r die
Musikbibliothek aufund war stellvertretender Direktor an einem
großen Bibliotheksystem in
Hamburg, wo er 1989 pensioniert wurde;
und 80er Jahren war er Vertreter der Musikbibliotheken
krat, arbeitete im Vorstand der Int. Vereinigung der

(AIBM), war Vorsitzender des Arbeitskreises

STEFANO CANUTI, born in Parma/Italy, was principal bassooninthe Maggio Fiorentino
orchestra; he joined successively the Torino RAI Orchestra. In 1987 he left this
engagement to play as soloist and in chamber ensembles. This choice gave him the
opportunity to work with musicians like V. Spivakov, P. Gallois, G. Hunt, G. De
Peyer and Orchestras like I Solisti Veneti and Virtuosi of Moscow. He has recorded
the Mozart Concerto, Divertimentifor 2 clarinets and bassoon from Mozart, TansmanSonata, Poulenc etc. under the Fone label.

GERALD COREY war einer der Hauptinitiatoren bei der Gründung der IDRS sowie der
Herausgeber des Rundschreibens "To the World's Bassoonists"(1960-71). 10 Jahre
war er der Herausgeber aller IDRS Publikationen und übernahm für ein Jahr die
Präsidentschaft der IDRS. Corey war dererste Musiker, der das französische Fagott
in einem amerik. Orchester wieder einführte. Er spielte bei der Washington D.C.
National Symphonie, der Vancouver Symphonie und ist seit 20 Jahren Solofagottist
beim NAC Orchester in Ottawa. Er war Juror beim Int. Concours für Fagott in Genf
und Toulon und hielt Meisterklassen ab in San Jose, Costa Rica und Leipzig.
GERALD COREY was a primarymotivator in the founding of the IDRS, the founder and
editor of the newsletter "To the World's Bassoonists" (l960-71). For a total of
10 years Corey continued as editor of all bassoon publications of the IDRS and

Salabert eine Sammlung zeitgenössischer Gitarrenmusik heraus.
DOMINIQUE DAIGREMONT, born 1958 in Paris, studied guitar at the
Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Rafael Andia and Alberto
Ponce. After he received the concert degree, he completed his studies in
Switzerland
with the lute virtuoso H. Smith. He is undertakingmusicology studies
on different european libraries Andis known also as a stage and studio musician.
Since 1986 he teaches and concertises regularly in the People's Reb. of China.
At present he teaches at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and has brought

from Heino
Wiechmann, Rudolph Volkmann and Dieter Bode of the City Theater in Giessen. He
was a prize winner of the Federal German Competition "Jugend musiziert" in 1971.
Thereafterheplayedthreeyearsin the German Federal Youth Orchestra with Volker
Wangenheim. He began his study of bassoon in 1973 at the College of Music and
performingb Arts in Frankfurt under Prof. Horst Winter. He was a memberofthe Young
German Philharmonic which won the Herbert von Karajan pri
1976 to 1977,
he was the assistant solo bassoonist with the Philharmonic
ra in Nürnberg.
In 1977 he became bassoonist and contra-bassoonist in the Opera House and Museums
Orchestra in Frankfurt/M. He has been solo bassoanist in the same orchestra since
1987. He has taught at the College of Music i n Frankfurt since 1981. He is a cofounder and president of the IDRS Deutschland e.V., and was elected to 2nd Vice

THERESA DELAPLAIN unterrichtet Oboe an der Universität von
Arkansasundspielt im Lyrigue Quintett. Sie hat die künstlerische
Leitung der Ozarks Chamber Players , spielterste Oboe in der North
Arkansas Symphonie und dem Music Festival of Arkansas, ist
Mitglied des Chamber Trio Spectrum und Künstler für Arts Live,

vormaliges Mitglied der Springfield Symphonie, spielte Frau

JUDITH FARMER received her first piano lessons from her mother at age 5 andbegan
to play the bassoon when she was 13 years old. From 1974 she studied with Leonard

YOSHIYUKI ISHIKAWA - a native Japanese, received his musical training from The
University of Michigan, where he earned a DMA in Bassoon Performance, and from
Northwestern Vniversity, where he earned both a MM in bassoon Performance and a
BME. Currently, he maintains the position as the Associate Professor of Bassoon
at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Active as a soloist and chambermusician,
Ishikawa is currently a mernber of the Colorado Wind Quintet. He has performed in
Japan, Great Britain and throughout the U.S. including a debut in Weil1 Recital
Hall at Carnegie Hall in 1991. Ishikawa is dedictated to the Performance of 20th
century literature and has commissioned numerous works for wind quintet. Some of
these compositions can be heard in the recording "A Box of Views", released by
Cambria Records. "The Pari ta No. 2 for Bassoon and Keyboards" by Virko Baley is
a second composition written by the composer for Ishikawa. In 1987 he hosted the
IDRS Conference in Las Vegas. He is currently serving his second term as the
Secretary of the Executive Board of IDRS.
