Camp Highlights
Todd Kress, Camp Director “My Staff and I personally invite you to join us this summer for a lot of fun and hard work. You will receive hands-on training from my staff and our incredibly talented players. Our goal is to make you a better player while sharing the love and passion we have for the sport of volleyball. Join us on the FSU campus this summer and come prepared to learn.” Todd Kress is entering his 6th year as the head volleyball coach at Florida State University. Within the first two years of his arrival he has led the Seminoles to a second place finish in the ACC and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. While at FSU, Kress became the second youngest active head coach to reach 200 career victories. In the 2003 season Todd brought in a handful of newcomers who were very eager to work hard and be part of the Seminole Tradition. As he continued to push the girls to a new level the hard work paid off. In 2004, Senior Captain, Amanda Santos, earned herself AVCA All-American Honors, a first for Seminole Volleyball. She was also drafted by a Holland professional volleyball team in 2005. In 2005, Senior Andreza Santos earned AVCA All-American Honors in addition to being named to the AVCA All-East Region First Team and All-ACC First Team. The accolades continued in 2006, as Makini Thompson joined the Santos sisters by earning AVCA All-American Honors, AVCA All-East Region First Team and the All-ACC First Team for her role in the Seminoles 3rd place finish in the ACC. Kress began his collegiate head coaching career at Fairfield University in 1995 where he became the Stags’ all-time winningest coach in just four years. In 1999, Kress took over the program at Northern Illinois University compiling a .659 winning percentage in the past three years and culminating with a Mid-American Championship and NCAA appearance. Kress has led four teams to the NCAA tournament in the past eight years. His career coaching record now stands at 239-145. Dani Kress, Camp Coordinator Dani Kress served as an assistant coach to Kress at both Northern Illinios and Fairfield University for four seasons. She played all four years of her college volleyball career as an outside hitter at the University of Cincinnati. Kress is currently the volunteer assistant coach for the Seminoles.
