Programa:
Dando continuidade à linha de pesquisa desenvolvida no primeiro semestre de 2009, onde
nosso interesse esteve voltado para problemas epistemológicos da Física contemporânea,
neste segundo semestre tomaremos como fio condutor de nosso trabalho as objeções
levantadas por Lee Smolin em seu livro “RIEN NE VA PLUS EN PHYSIQUE ! L’échec
de la théorie des cordes”, onde estão apresentadas as seguintes questões a serem
respondidas pelos físicos:
1o – Reunir a relatividade geral e a teoria quântica em uma única, que possa
pretender ser a teoria completa da natureza.
2o – Resolver os problemas dos fundamentos da mecânica quântica, seja dando um sentido
à teoria, tal como ela existe atualmente, seja inventando, em seu lugar, uma nova teoria que
tenha um sentido claro.
3o – Determinar se as partículas e as forças diferentes podem ser unificadas em uma única
teoria, que explicaria a todas, enquanto manifestação de uma única entidade fundamental.
4o – Explicar como, na natureza, são escolhidos os valores das constantes livres do modelo
estândar da física das partículas.
5o – Explicar a matéria escura e a energia escura. Ou, se elas não existem, determinar como
e por que a gravidade é modificada em grandes escalas. Mais genericamente por que as
constantes do modelo estândar da cosmologia, incluída aí a energia escura, têm os valores
que elas têm.
Além do livro de Smolin, já citado, como apoio imediato ao debate recorreremos
ainda aos seguintes textos, em especial, se prejuízo de outros que mereçam ser
considerados:

Programa:
O objetivo deste curso é trabalhar com as correntes de filosofia política pós A teoria da
Justiça de Rawls. Meu foco principal será a crítica comunitarista de Michel Walzer (2003)
e multiculturalista de Will Kymlicka (2009) ao ‘individualismo metafísico’ da TJ.
Eventualmente serão abordadas também a crítica à ‘natureza econômica e não política do
contrato’ (Habermas) e a ‘crítica à natureza intencional do contrato’ (Nozick).

Já por muitos anos, diferentes versões do não-cognitivismo (expressivismo, quaserealismo) têm sido apresentadas como soluções plausíveis ao problema metaético. O objeto
de interesse deste curso é constituído por avaliações críticas do programa metafísico,
epistemológico e semântico do não-cognitivismo em ética.

Título do Curso: Metáfora e estilo na Filosofia: Derrida leitor de Nietzsche
Programa: O objetivo do curso consiste em reunir elementos que indiquem a forte
influência de Nietzsche no que se convencionou chamar de "desconstrução", ou seja, o
pensamento do filósofo franco-magrebino Jacques Derrida. Tal influência, que se estende
por toda a obra do filósofo, torna-se de mais fácil apreensão em textos como "Mitologia
branca", que trata da presença da metáfora no texto filosófico, e Éperons: les styles de
Nietzsche, livro em que Derrida, a partir das referências no corpus da obra nietzscheana ao
feminino e à sua não-verdade, entende a desconstrução que Nietzsche empreende na
filosofia como uma "questão de estilo", onde o estilo torna-se algo que deve ser
filosoficamente levado a sério.

Título do Curso: Psicanálise e hermenêutica: Freud lido e interpretado por Paul Ricoeur.
Programa:
Em De l’interprétation: essai sur Freud, após realizar uma leitura do discurso freudiano
que releva o seu caráter misto, vale dizer, energético e hermenêutico, Paul Ricoeur indica o
lugar filosófico deste discurso. Ao apropriar-se dos conceitos metapsicológicos, a reflexão
enriquece a compreensão do homem em dois pontos fundamentais: desaloja a consciência
como sede do sentido e introduz a concepção da existência como desejo. Se a psicanálise
fosse apenas uma denúncia da distorção de sentido não interessaria à filosofia.
Contudo,
como é também um trabalho de reconstrução do sentido pela interpretação, pode ser
acolhida pelo pensamento fenomenológico-hermenêutico. Seguindo os rastos de Freud,
Ricoeur empreende uma caminhada regressiva em direção ao sujeito. O que descobre ao
fim deste itinerário? Que a representação antes de ser representação é anúncio do
energético no psiquismo, antes de ser conhecimento do mundo é nomeação finita do
infinito do desejo. O homem não é fundamentalmente consciência, mas inconsciente; não é
razão, mas desejo. Eros e não logos é o “sum do cogito”. Depois da exposição de alguns
dos principais tópicos do discurso freudiano, apresentaremos uma síntese da apropriação
deste discurso pela reflexão fenomenológico-hermenêutica proposta por Ricoeur,
discutindo suas possibilidades e limites.

Título do Curso: Tópicos de Ética Aplicada
O curso será constituído de duas partes. A primeira conterá uma discussão dos principais
temas da bioética e a segunda abordará questões relativas à ética animal e ambiental.
Metodologia:
Aulas expositivas. O professor fará a apresentação do tema que será posteriormente
discutido pelos alunos. Os alunos terão acesso prévio (via internet e copias deixadas na
pasta do curso na fotocopiadora local) à bibliografia referente ao tema de cada encontro.
Carga horária:
Cada sessão presencial terá a duração de 3 horas. Após as sessões os alunos poderão
participar de discussões em ambiente virtual.

I. Parte: Questões de Bioética
A primeira parte do curso será ministrada pelo Prof. Dr. Julian Savulescu, com a
participação da Profa. Dra. Maria Clara Dias, e abordará os seguintes tópicos:

II. Parte: Questões de Ética Animal
A segunda parte do curso será ministrada pela Profa. Dra. Maria Clara Dias, com a
participação do Prof. Dr. Sérgio Potsch do departamento de Biologia da UFRJ, e abordará
questões de ética aplicada relacionadas aos animais, tais como o uso de animais em
experimentos científicos e a instrumentalização de vidas não-humanas para alimentação, e
lazer humanos.
Entre os tópicos a serem discutidos estão:

2. Acerca dos limites da Igualdade.
3. Sobre responsabilidade, cuidado e vínculos.

O curso constará de uma leitura/interpretação/comentário de passagens da obra de
Heidegger, intitulada "Meditação" ("Besinnung"). Como no semestre anterior, o curso será
de parceria com o prof. Casanova, UERJ. A referida obra de Heidegger está sendo por ele
traduzida e sairá em breve pela edit. Vozes. As passagens serão indicadas ao longo do curso
e a tradução será fornecida pelo prof. Casanova.

Título do Curso: A Idéia da Filosofia no Brasil como “Ciência” do Espírito
Programa
No âmbito da filosofia brasileira, no século XIX, particularmente no contexto do combate
ao naturalismo enquanto tentativa de aplicação do modelo das ciências da natureza às
ciências humanas, Farias Brito, desenvolvendo teses de Tobias Barreto, faz a crítica da
psicologia “científica” ou “experimental”, propondo, de maneira independente, mas muito
próxima à de Husserl, um método para atender à especificidade do psíquico.
