Estudos sobre estereotipia e plasticidade no comportamento, envolvendo a aprendizagem individual e social, podendo levar à construção de nicho, ao surgimento de tradições comportamentais, incluindo o uso de ferramentas. Estudos demonstrando que, apesar deste caráter particular do fenótipo comportamental, ele se enquadra na teoria evolutiva, via darwinismo universal. Tópicos especiais em etologia: homologia, evo-devo, micro-evolução, socialidade, conservação. Estes desenvolvimentos teóricos serão acompanhados por uma pesquisa prática orientada, para a qual serão aulas práticas sobre técnicas de coleta e análise de dados. OBJETIVOS Capacitar o aluno a entender o comportamento como um fenótipo diferenciado, e a debater as relações entre o comportamento e a morfologia funcional. Familiarizar o aluno com programas de computador utilizados para o estudo do comportamento e de sua evolução. Treinar o trabalho em grupo e a exposição de resultados de pesquisa. Estimular a produção discente, capacitando os alunos a realizar apresentações orais e painéis em congressos, bem como a produzir resenhas de livros. M ETODO LO GIA Aulas expositivas. Leitura crítica de textos com discussão em sala de aula. Aulas práticas com resolução de problemas evolutivos em programas de computador.
