Desde sua criação em 1990, ARIA Technologies (www.aria.fr) tem um só foco: o estudo da atmosfera baseado
em simulações numéricas dos processos atmosféricos. Sua equipe é composta por mais de 25 peritos
especialistas de áreas como dinâmica de fluidos, meteorologia, química atmosférica, computação aplicada,
gestão de banco de dados e sistemas de informação geográfica (GIS), análises meteorológicas, inventários de

General information
LEOSPHERE, founded in 2004, is the world leader in LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) for
atmospheric observation. The company designs, develops, manufactures, sells and services new
turnkey remote-sensing instruments allowing wind measurement and aerosols characterization.
Our four main markets are wind power, aviation weather, meteorology, and air quality & industrial
risk.
Activity and products
LEOSPHERE range of WINDCUBE products allows the retrieval of wind profile and aerosol
characterization up to 10km. Our LIDAR remote sensors are powerful instrument for meteorological
agencies, airports and atmospheric research institutes since they provide high-resolution data on
severe weather events (hurricanes, cyclones ...) and wind hazards (burst, turbulence, wind shear,
wake vortex). Wind data are also critical for wind resource assessment, onshore and offshore, for
wind turbines power performance verification and for monitoring the overall productivity of a wind
farm.
LEOSPHERE has deployed several hundreds of LIDAR remote sensors throughout the world in severe
environments with the same concern of reliability, accuracy, return on investment and dedication to
atmospheric hazards control. We also provide tests, delivery, training, warranty, maintenance of all

In term of flood disaster, the fact is that physical protection is necessary but inevitably
limited.
Tools and structures of assistance to anticipate and alert remain slightly developed.
PREDICT has developed integrated solutions for the protection of citizens and their
property, the protection of communities and companies against the flood and other
hydrometeorological risks.
Since 2006, the initiative Predict-Services was developed: it aims at helping
communities and companies to face repeated flood crisis.

Services provided combine all the keys of risk management:
- Emergency plans, to organize crisis management and reduce risks;
- Early warning system, functioning 24h/24 and 7/7 to assist citizen, local
communities, companies during crisis to help them to activate and adapt their
emergency plans and behaviours with enough of anticipation;
- Feedback, to analyse floods effects and improve emergency plans and
organizations afterwards.
In the crossing of the geo-information stemming from the space technology,
communication, meteorology, hydraulics and hydrology, Predict-services brings help:
-to citizen to protect themselves,
- to local communities in their mission of protection and information of the citizens,
-to companies to limit and delete operating losses facing floods.
In order to reduce risks, and to keep the benefits of this initiative, local communities
and companies have to maintain the awareness of risk of the citizens and

operational. This is a part of the message relayed by Predict and of the services
proposed by the initiative Predict.

A first project was developed in Haiti to help the 30 most important local communities
to organize their flood management by establishing their prevention plans facing
flood problems.
PREDICT has also worked with the World Bank to established a diagnosis to
enhance the alert system of Djibouti, and Buenos Aires. Its expertise has also been
employed in Morocco and Senegal.
The goal was to adapt the method to be able to anticipate floods and to establish
efficient prevention plans for protection of citizens, territories, and all vulnerable
stakes.
The proposed solutions combine methods transfer, softwares, technological transfer
and trainings.
