Castello del Nero, surrounded by an astonishing 750 acres of private estate, is a magnificent XII
century castle located in the heart of the Chianti region.
Within 30 minutes of Siena, Florence and San Gimignano, you could hardly find a more perfect spot
from which to explore Tuscany. Towering over its own valley, which includes two lakes, you can enjoy
the beautiful Tuscan rolling hills as well as views of vineyards and olive groves.
The magnificent historical building is under tutelage of the Italian Fine Art. The reconstruction was
completed in 2006 with care and dedication aimed at conserving its original features. Original frescoes,
coats of arms, fireplaces and vault ceilings are located
in common areas and guest rooms alike, exuding the
charm and history of the noble estate.
On the property there is also a small chapel, still
consecrated, ideal for the celebration of weddings as
it opens onto a wonderfully kept Italian garden.
The hotel has 50 rooms and suites which feature state
of the art technology for in room entertainment,
LCD televisions, video on demand, minibar, safety
deposit boxes and internet connection. All rooms are
equipped with an individual climate control computer
through which guests can set the temperature of the
room and bath.
Restaurant
Our Restaurant La Torre showcases all that is best
about Italian and Tuscan gastronomy, and stands out
amongst restaurants in the Chianti region. It is open
seven days a week for lunch and dinner in an elegant
and welcoming informal ambience. We do not
require a specific dress code but would suggest smart
casual attire.
A rich buffet breakfast is available to our guests from 7:30
a.m to 10:30 a.m at our restaurant La Torre.
Lunch is served from 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. in our
welcoming La Taverna, where a mouth watering menu
waits for you with a selection of dishes taken from the
Tuscan Tradition. During the summer, our lunch service
moves to the pool area (weather permitting). A delicious
BBQ menu enable you to choose from a mouth-watering
selection of meat, fish and vegetables, grilled the way you
like.
Dinner is served from 7.30 p.m to 10.00 p.m. in our elegant restaurant located in the former stables of
the castle. Our innovative yet traditional à la carte menu highlights all that is best about dining in
Tuscany, with dishes based on typical Tuscan flavours and made with fresh local products. During the
summer you can dine on our enchanting Garden Terrace and thus enjoy a typical Tuscan landscape.
We also offer a snack menu served from 11:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m at The Bar or by the pool during the
summer.
Finally, our Room-Service is available 24 hours a day.

 Wine and Olive Oil Tastings
Since Castello del Nero is located in the heart of Chianti, one of the main regions in Italy for red wine
and olive oil production, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a tasting in at the hotel with our
Sommelier. Tastings can take place every day at 5.30 p.m, subject to our Sommelier’s availability.
 Cooking Classes
Cooking classes are personally designed by Executive Chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro, and hosted by him
or his assistant, sharing their outstanding knowledge and passion for the Italian cuisine with guests. The
class can host from two to maximum of six people. Following the class, every attendee will taste the
dishes they have prepared during lunch on the same day. In addition, each guest will receive a logoed
apron, a diploma and copies of the Executive Chef’s recipes.

For wine and food lovers, a unique experience to discover the marvellous world of the Tuscan Truffles
isavailable through all the year.
During the truffle walk in the local forest, the licensed truffle hunter will share his knowledge on the

 Hot Air Balloon Ride
See the beautiful Tuscan countryside as the sun rises and admire the Chianti region from a different
prospective.
Balloons fly from a field that is located only five minutes drive from our Hotel. The inflation takes
about 30 minutes, and the flight approximately one hour depending on wind and weather conditions.
After the flight you can enjoy a marvellous typical Tuscan breakfast with local products. The whole
adventure takes about two and a half hours, we assure that it will be a very exciting experience, the
views are fantastic.
 Horse Riding
We can arrange horse riding in the area. Private lessons with professional trainers for all level of
expertise from novice to competitor are available and you can choose between a walk in the
countryside or a lesson inside the school. Ponies are available for children.
 Golf
Located about 50 minutes drive from our Hotel, two golf clubs are available. The courses are set in a
typical Tuscan landscapes. We invite expert players to rise to the challenge and for practicing amateurs
to enjoy the fun.
 Guided Tours
There is perhaps no better way to discover a city, than to enjoy a walking tour with a professional
guide, who can share stories of history, culture, and local traditions. In addition, guides can be arranged
to visit the main museums (such as Accademy Gallery and Uffizi Museum in Florence). Guided tours
of three or six hours can be arranged in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian for:
Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Lucca.
It is advisable to book museum tickets in advance, especially for Uffizi and Accademia Gallery in
Florence.

We can arrange private excursions to visit some of the most famous villages and cities in the
surrounding area, such as: Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in
Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Panzano and Badia a Passignano.
