Aids to Navigation ROTOMOULDED HULL BALIZAMAR MOORING BUOYS Balizamar mooring buoys are designed with a galvanized steel structure and a rotomoulded polyethylene hull. The hot dip galvanized steel structure has a 200mm central tube that passes through the hull, transmitting the loads from the mooring point to the mooring. The single hull is made of rotomoulded polyethylene filled of expanded polystyrene foam, ensuring its buoyancy even if the outer skin has been broken. The buoy can be configured with one of the four mooring designs available (shown on the following page) to suit customer’s requirements. Water resistant up to 100ºC, resistant to most acids and common solvents Galvanization All the carbon steel components are hot dip galvanized in accordance with standard ISO 1461:1999 Colour Yellow, red, green, black Recycling All the buoy components are easily recycled with a direct re-use rate nearing 100% Manufacturer certificate ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, IALA Industrial Member Hull Rotomoulded MDPE thyroid filled with expanded polystyrene. 8-12mm minimum hull outer skin thickness Structure Single tube that passes through the centre of the hull. Mooring eye on its lower side and a centre plate that transfers the loads to the hull. Manufactured using ST 37 steel and subsequently hot dip galvanized. Option of 4 mooring designs (see below). All solutions are calculated for 12.000 kg SWL considering a factor of safety of 2 Screws Stainless steel A2.
