The Excite F5D is the result of a lot competition experience and developing. Out of the kit you will be able to win F5D contests. With the three different removable noses you can use direct drive motors or geardrives or use the Excite F5D as a glider. The model is also usable for extreme DS (dynamic soaring). The wing is produced out of full carbon and the fuse out of aramid with unidirectional carbon. The is nearly ready to fly. Never the less we recommend to read the instruction very carefully. ATTENTION: The Excite F5D can reach extreme high speeds. Be aware that this is not just a toy! It is a toy for big boys Finally STRATAIR wishes you a lot of fun in building and flying the Excite F5D 1. Fuselage: Pushrod for elevator: take some 0,8mm steel wire and connect it to the servohorn. Move the servo incl. 0,8mm steel into the fuse just behind end of wing. Now cut the steel wire 2cm after top-end of vertical stabilizer. Take a plastic tube (1mm inner diameter), cut it 8cm shorter than the steel wire and put it together. Glue a rudder horn into the elevator. Move the servo now again into the fuse and glue it. Then bend the steel wire to 90 degrees exactelly at the hole of the rudder horn. The rudder horn can be connected to the steel wire. Check neutral position of the servo. It is important that you fix the plastic tube with the fuse. Otherwise there will be tolerance in the elevator. Reveiver and receiver-accu should be placed also behind the wing or as far as possible in the aft section. Depending on motorweight use long or short nose. For the glidernose you need some weight in the front. 3. Wing: With a knife cut out of the wing the servocover. Install the servocables and glue the servo into the wing. Best is when the servo has contact to upper and bottom side of the wing. Glue the rudder horn in the aileron and make the pushrod to the servo. For the servolever some openings are necessary. 4. General: If there is some tolerance on elevator or aileron trop some second glue between rudder connector and steel wire. Let it harden. Thereafter “brake” the glueing via moving the steel wire. 5.
