Manatee facts:
• Manatees are an endangered species.
• There are only around 3800 manatees living today.
• The average manatee is from 8 to 10 feet long with an average weight of
800 to 1000 pounds.
• They mainly eat grass and are very gentle animals that will not harm you.
• Active manatees have to come to the surface for air every 6 to 8 minutes.
• Manatees in the wild live to about 30 or 40 years of age.
