Viewed from the the Palace, rows A to K are located on the left hand-side and rows L to U on the right hand-side. The single blocks’ letters are also linked to numbers. Therefore, instead of street names, you will find combinations such as A2 or K5 on the city center’s street signs. The individual street numbers of each block begin with number 1 at the corner facing the Palace and continue around the block either clockwise (A to K) or counter-clockwise (L to U). There are many interesting stories about the “I or J blocks” in Mannheim, which are actually one and the same. 39 Ga 3 34 Planken (pedestrian walkway) C, 1/2/3 The Mannheim Grid System 25 18 Neckar en rd e in Rh Main Station 15 Feud Mannheim is one of the most popular cities for shopping in South West Germany.
