Recyclables from households and the commercial sector to be treated:

• glass
• (light) packaging waste
• bulky waste
• electronic scrap
It is nearly impossible to identify and describe all possible combinations
and methods used for the processing of recyclables. Especially the
automation is different.
Il est pratiquement impossible d'identifier et de décrire toutes les combinaisons possibles
et les méthodes utilisées pour le traitement des matières recyclables. Surtout la mécanisation est
différent.
For this lecture, some common solutions resp. concepts are presented.

First define the tasks and the goals of the processing with some examples

Different levels of automation:
• A basic concept is marked by a rather low degree of automation
and intensity of equipment but comparatively high labour
demand.
Un concept de base est marquée par un degré assez faible de l'automatisation et l'intensité de
l'équipement, mais la demande de travail relativement élevée.
• An advanced concept has a higher degree of automation and
intensity of equipment than the basic configuration.
Un concept a avancés pendant un degré plus élevé d'automatisation et de l'intensité de l'équipement que la

• A "sophisticated configuration" is with the best available
techniques.

Summary: Lessons learned
“Recycling processes and direct material utilization furthermore demand for
a certain purity of the material. Both, recovery and separation of different
materials to obtain a pure feedstock for various industrial applications can
be achieved by waste processing and sorting…. The main objective of
any processing scheme is the generation of defined material fractions from
the collected waste which can be directly forwarded to recycling after the
processing. Within this, the removal of impurities and disturbing materials is
one principal aim. Sorting and various separation techniques are used for
that. The intensity of processing and the quality of the output (e.g. share of
the different paper grades) is determined by the availability of a market, the
market price and the possible profit from selling the different materials
obtained. ”
«Les procédés de recyclage et l'utilisation du matériel directement en outre la demande d'une certaine pureté du matériau. Le s deux, la
récupération et de séparation des différents matériaux pour obtenir une matière première pure pour diverses applications indu strielles
peut être réalisé par le traitement des déchets et le tri .... L'objectif principal de tout programme de traitement est la gé nération de
fractions de matériaux définis à partir des déchets collectés qui peuvent être directement transmises au recyclage après le traitement.
Dans ce cadre, l'élimination des impuretés et des matériaux est un inquiétant objectif principal. Tri et diverses techniques de séparation
sont utilisés pour cela. L'intensité du traitement et de la qualité de la production (par exemple, part des qualités de papie r différent) est
déterminé par la disponibilité d'un marché, le prix du marché et le profit possible de la vente des matériaux différents obte nus. "
