Research interests
Interactions between snow, forests and forest disturbances, and ecosystem services (ES), in particular:
forest snowpacks; disturbance interactions; avalanche-forest-interactions; snow hydrology of forested
watersheds; avalanche dynamics modeling in forests; spatial analysis and evaluation approaches in forest
and land management; synergies and trade-offs between ES; influence of changes in climate and landuse on forests‘ protective effects against natural hazards and on other ES; GIS- and web-based
applications to support decisions for a sustainable development of mountainous regions; inter- and
transdisciplinary research approaches.
