Fragen mit do/does
Du hast schon einige Möglichkeiten kennen gelernt, um einen Satz
in eine Frage zu verwandeln:
Bsp.: We can play football in the garden.
Can we play football in the garden ?
I must learn the words.
Must I learn the words ?
You have got a yellow bike.
Have you got a yellow bike ?
He is reading a comic.
Is he reading a comic ?
In den Sätzen oben kam immer ein Hilfsverb wie can, must, have/has oder
eine Form von to be vor. Was ist aber, wenn in einem Satz keines dieser
Wörter vorkommt ?
In diesem Fall bildest du die Frage mit dem Hilfsverb do/does.
Bei “I”, “you”, “we”, “you” und “they” nimmst du einfach “do” und stellst es
vor den Satz...fertig ist die Frage !
Bsp.: I help my mother in the kitchen.
Do I help my mother in the kitchen ?
You learn the words every day.
Do you learn the words every day ?
We always do our homework.
Do we always do our homework ?
You never play computer games.
Do you never play computer games ?
They come from Nottingham.
Do they come from Nottingham ?
Aufpassen musst du nur bei der 3. Person Singular (also bei “he”, “she” und “it”).
Hier stellst du “does” an den Anfang des Satzes. Ausserdem musst du die
konjugierte Form des Verbes durch die Infinitivform ersetzen. Schau es dir
einmal an:

Bsp.: He tidies up his room every Saturday.
Does he tidy up his room every Saturday ?
She plays with her dogs.
Does she play with her dogs ?
School finishes at 12.30.
Does school finish at 12.30 ?
Du siehst, statt den konjugierten Formen des Verbes (tidies, plays, finishes)
stehen in den Fragen die Infinitivformen (tidy, play, finish).

Verneinte Sätze mit don’t/doesn’t
Ähnlich wie bei den Fragen funktionieren auch die
verneinten Sätze. Diese Beispiele kennst du schon:
Bsp.: You can help me.
You can’t help me.
He has got a kite.
He hasn’t got a kite.
She is in the garden.
She isn’t in the garden.
Wenn in dem Satz, den du verneinen möchtest, kein Hilfsverb wie
can, must, have/has oder eine Form von to be vorkommt, dann
benutzt du don’t oder doesn’t:
don’t ist immer bei “I”, “you”, “we”, you” und “they”
richtig:
Bsp.: I help my mother in the kitchen.
I don’t help my mother in the kitchen.
They like apples and bananas.
They don’t like apples and bananas.
Bei “he”, “she” und “it” musst du doesn’t nehmen:
Bsp.: David plays the guitar.
David doesn’t play the guitar.
Sarah walks to school.
Sarah doesn’t walk to school.
It rains here every day.
It doesn’t rain here every day.
Auch hier musst du aufpassen !
Die konjugierte Form im Satz (plays, walks, rains) wird nach
doesn’t durch die Infinitivform ersetzt (play, walk, rain).
