August 2015 Friedrichshafen, Bodensee 21/08/2015 Eurobike press conference presents the bicycle innovations for 2016 - E-motor trend unbroken - Multi-terrain bikes becoming more and more popular Premieres: Frechdax for the kids, unnoticable e-drives and heavy cargo bikes Friedrichshafen - It’s a technology and design showdown in Friedrichshafen. The Eurobike, taking place from August 26 to 29, is presenting the products that will drive the market of the future, with over 250 world premieres expected at this year’s show. The large number of innovations is also apparent at the Eurobike Award with 500 products submitted for the award. 64 of them will be honored on the first day of the show. "This year, the Eurobike has again proven that it is the global bicycle exhibition. With 1350 exhibitors in 13 exhibition halls, we have an outstanding lineup that makes us the place to be for everyone interested in bikes,” Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann declared at the press conference held in advance of the bicycle exhibition. It’s not just for industry visitors: On public day, Saturday, August 29, the Eurobike will open its doors for hobby cyclists and bike fans alike. Visitors will be able to put pedelecs and recumbent bikes straight to the test on 2015 Presseabteilung Wolfgang Köhle Telefon:+49 7541 708 - 307 Telefax:+49 7541 708 - 331 E-Mail: [email protected] 1/4 Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH Postfach 2080 88010 Friedrichshafen Neue Messe 1 88046 Friedrichshafen GERMANY www.messe-friedrichshafen.de Sitz der Gesellschaft: Friedrichshafen Amtsgericht Ulm, HRB 631179 Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender: Oberbürgermeister Andreas Brand Geschäftsführer: Klaus Wellmann Presseinformation Press release Communiqué de presse Informazione stampa 24th International Bicycle Trade Exhibition August 26 – 29, 2015 Friedrichshafen, Germany 24. Internationale Fahrradmesse 26. – 29. August 2015 Friedrichshafen, Bodensee special test tracks. In addition, Holiday on Bike will offer a selection oriented around the theme of bike travel and visitors will be able to get a look at the bike industry’s fashion future. "Danny MacAskill perhaps the most well-known cyclist in the world, is also coming to Friedrichshafen,” project leader Dirk Heidrich announced. Sabine Spitz, Olympic gold medalist and two-time German cross country champion, will also be present on Saturday. The e-motor theme remains as current as ever for the industry. With the Blue LABEL Charger GX Rohloff, Riese und Müller will be presenting a travel e-bike that offers plenty of space thanks to front and rear wheel luggage racks, complemented by an especially long-lived battery with a very fine gradation. The e-drive in the Coboc’s Commuter Bike seems almost unnoticable, if not completely invisible. The bike not only gets points for the drive hidden in its frame - which gives it a sleek look - but also for its light 15.4 kilogramm (33.88 lbs.) weight. A briefcase can be attached to the luggage rack, making it the ideal bike for the commute to work. The Musketier from Radbox proves that e-bikes can also transport a completely different kind of cargo. The tricycle with a motor can pull a choice of a cargo wagon, a flatbed trailer or a children’s passenger trailer. In urban traffic in particular, it therefore offers a space-saving, environmentally friendly alternative for delivery services or for transporting large shopping purchases. The E-Power Life Bike Nuvince Nyon from Corratec was developed as a sports equipment for osteoarthritis and heart patients. Thanks to its reinforced frame and spokes, it can carry riders weighing up to 150 kilogramms (330 lbs.) 2015 Presseabteilung Wolfgang Köhle Telefon:+49 7541 708 - 307 Telefax:+49 7541 708 - 331 E-Mail: [email protected] 2/4 Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH Postfach 2080 88010 Friedrichshafen Neue Messe 1 88046 Friedrichshafen GERMANY www.messe-friedrichshafen.de Sitz der Gesellschaft: Friedrichshafen Amtsgericht Ulm, HRB 631179 Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender: Oberbürgermeister Andreas Brand Geschäftsführer: Klaus Wellmann Presseinformation Press release Communiqué de presse Informazione stampa 24th International Bicycle Trade Exhibition August 26 – 29, 2015 Friedrichshafen, Germany 24. Internationale Fahrradmesse 26. – 29. August 2015 Friedrichshafen, Bodensee The latest mountain bikes are closely oriented around customer desires. With an e-drive, the Macina Kapoho from KTM provides a riding experience like that of an SUV and, like the Genius 27+ from Scott, shows off the newest trend in tires. 27+ is a tire width that lies between that of traditional mountain bike tires and fatbike tires and offers a larger contact surface than thinner tires, with only slightly increased rolling resistance. The Frechdax from Propain is presenting itself as a children’s mountain bike with the technology and geometry of a full-sized MTB. The ICB 2.0 was designed especially in accordance with customers’ desires, with 2000 consumers involved in its development. Transformability is in where racing bikes are concerned. The Cannondale Slate Force CX1 integrates mountain bike elements, whereas Open Cycle’s Up can accommodate various tire sizes and widths. "The Gravel Bike from Open Cycle thus offers a high level of flexibility for a diverse variety of surfaces,” says sports journalist Bernd-Uwe Gutknecht. Small and multifunctional: The Seatylock bike accessory is a saddle that can be transformed into a lock while the Fuga helmet from Closca Design can be folded up and thus easily stored away in a backpack or briefcase. Lezyne is presenting the "smallest GPS device in the world,” whereas Lucette bicycle lights can be easily clipped onto a bicycle using a magnet and just as quickly removed again later. One thing that makes things easier for e-bike riders is the Bike Lift from EAL. "It is very hard for older people to lift e-bikes into the bike stand. Therefore, the idea of integrating a lift into the bike stand is a real advance,” says bike pro Karen Eller. 2015 Presseabteilung Wolfgang Köhle Telefon:+49 7541 708 - 307 Telefax:+49 7541 708 - 331 E-Mail: [email protected] 3/4 Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH Postfach 2080 88010 Friedrichshafen Neue Messe 1 88046 Friedrichshafen GERMANY www.messe-friedrichshafen.de Sitz der Gesellschaft: Friedrichshafen Amtsgericht Ulm, HRB 631179 Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender: Oberbürgermeister Andreas Brand Geschäftsführer: Klaus Wellmann Presseinformation Press release Communiqué de presse Informazione stampa 24th International Bicycle Trade Exhibition August 26 – 29, 2015 Friedrichshafen, Germany 24.
