TENSION
20 sts x 25 rows = 10 cm measured over stocking stitch using
41/2mm (US7) needles
Abbreviations
yfwd = yarn forward [to make a stitch]
yon = yarn over needle [take the yarn over the top of the
needle and in order to make a stitch]
yfrn = yarn forward and round needle [to make a stitch]
k2tog = knit 2 sts together
sl1K = slip one stitch knitways
psso = pass slipped stitch over
m1 = make one st by inserting needle from behind under the
running thread [which is the strand running from the base of
the stitch just worked to the base of the next stitch] and lift
this thread onto left hand needle; then knit one st into the
back of it.
Finished Size
Square measures approx 20 cm x 20 cm
Lace Heart Square [make 6 squares]
Using 41/2mm (US7) needles cast on 41 sts.
Beg at bottom right hand corner, cont to work sts as set out
on chart [1st row is RS of work] to Row 53, WS facing for
next row:Row 54 [WS]: Cast-off knitwise [on WS].
