Wir präsentieren eine neue Siebdrucktechnik auf Glas, die
mit minimaler Infrastruktur auskommt und in jedem Atelier
angewendet werden kann. Im Gegensatz zum klassischen
Siebdruck mit auf einem Alurahmen gespannten Sieb,
erfolgt hier Druck ohne Rahmen direkt vom Sieb auf
das Glas. Die Einfachheit ist der grosse Vorteil der Easy
Methode. Ausserdem bleibt das Sieb erhalten und kann für
eine spätere Anwendung aufbewahrt werden.
We would like to introduce you to a new screen printing
technique which requires the most minimal infrastructure and
can therefore be practised in any small glass studio. Eliminating
the need for traditional screen frames and hinges, the print
evolves directly from the screen onto the glass. Its simplicity
is a great advantage for the Easy Method. Another plus of this
method is that the screen does not have to be stripped after
use and can be kept for future repeat applications.
Der zweite und ebenso bedeutende Aspekt der Easy
Methode ist, dass man mit einer gebrauchsfertigen
Siebdruckfarbe arbeitet: Color Line Paste. Diese ist
ein Gemisch aus bleifreien Pigmenten und einem
wasserfreundlichen Siebdruckmedium – genau in der
richtigen Konsistenz. Somit entfällt der Umgang mit
Farbpulvern und das manchmal heikle Anmischen mit dem
Medium.
The second but no less important aspect of the Easy Method
is that you work with a ready to use silk screen enamel: Color
Line Paste. This is a mixture of lead free pigments and a water
friendly silk screen medium –in exactly the right consistencythus eliminating having to deal with enamels in powder form
and the sometimes troublesome task of combining them
correctly with the medium.

THE EASY SCREEN
Die Easy Siebdruckgarnitur ist gebrauchsfertig für den
Druck auf Stoff, Metall, Holz, Papier, Glas und Keramik
etc. Die Maschengrösse ist 110 Mesh und ist daher für die
Körnung von Color Line Paste perfekt geeignet. Das Sieb
besteht aus Nylon und ist mit einer lichtempfindlichen und
wasserlöslichen Polymer Emulsion beschichtet.
Die EZ-Siebdruckgarnitur 110 Mesh kann auch mit
Ätzpasten oder für Powder Printing verwendet werden.
The Easy Silk Screen is ready to use for printing on fabric, metal,
wood, paper, glass and ceramic etc. The mesh count is 110,
therefore perfect for application with Color Line Paste. The
screen is made from Nylon and is coated with a UV-sensitive
and water soluble Polymer emulsion.
The screen is not designed for colours or detergents containing
solvents. Acryllic paints can obstruct the screen mesh.
Nicht geeignet ist das Produkt für Farben oder
Reinigungsmittel, die Lösungsmittel enthalten. Acrylfarben
können die Maschen des Siebs verstopfen.

Das Produkt wurde speziell für
Siebdruck
(und
Stempeldruck)
konzipiert. Die Farbintensität ist
extrem hoch, so dass ein Siebdruck
von hoher Auflösung resp. Haarlinien
ein starkes Druckbild ergeben. Die
Farbe ist zweifach gemahlen und hat
dadurch eine besonders geschmeidige
Konsistenz.
Alle Farben sind bleifrei und nach
dem Brand lebensmittelecht. Sie
sind frei mischbar, so dass aus den
existierenden Basistönen beliebige
weitere Farbschattierungen gemischt
werden können.
This product has been especially
designed for screen printing (and
stamping technique). The pigmentation
is extremely high, to deposit a strong
colour mark even in high resolution
or hair line imagery. The paste has
been milled twice which results in a
wonderfully smooth consistency.
All colours are lead free and food safe
when fired. They are all freely mixable,
enabling you to obtain a multitude of
new and highly individual colours.

1. Die Vorlage bereitstellen
1. Design Preparation
Schablonen, Scherenschnitte, natürliche Blätter oder
ein schwarz bedruckter Transparentfilm eignen sich
als Vorlage. Es ist wichtig, dass das Sujet opak und die
Umgebung
lichtdurchlässig ist. Beim Drucken von
Filmvorlagen mit einem Tintenstrahl- oder Laser Drucker
immer die dunkelste Einstellung wählen.
Wichtig: “Black is Print” d.h. die schwarzen Bereiche
werden gedruckt.
Templates, paper cuttings, natural leaves or an acetate film
with the image printed in black may serve as a design. It
is important that the image is totally opaque and the area
around it is fully transparent. When printing on an acetate
film, make sure to select the darkest setting on your ink-jet or
laser printer. Important: “black is print” i.e. the black areas
will be screen printed.

Den transparenten Schutzfilm von der Siebdruckgarnitur
abziehen. Die Garnitur mit der matten Seite oben unter
die noch ausgeschaltete UV-Lampe legen und die
Vorlage zentriert darauf legen. Darauf achten, dass am
oberen Ende ein Rand von ca. 4 cm frei bleibt und dass
die Vorlage dicht auf der Siebdruckgarnitur liegt.
Die UV-Lampe einschalten die Siebdruckgarnitur ca. 4.5
Min. belichten.
Die Belichtungszeit kann nach Art der UV-Lampe
variieren.
First remove the transparent protective film from the Easy
Screen. Place the screen with the matte side up under the
still switched-off UV-lamp and position the design onto the
screen in the middle. Make sure to leave about 4 cm free at
the upper end of the design and that the design is sitting
tightly on the screen.
Now turn on the UV-lamp and expose the screen for 4.5
minutes.
The exposure time may vary with different types of UVlamps.

3. Der Auswaschprozess
Die belichtete Siebdruckgarnitur in eine Schale mit
handwarmem Wasser legen und 5-10 Min. einweichen.
Die Schale abdecken, damit die noch photosensible
Garnitur vor Licht geschützt ist. Nach ein paar Minuten
wird das Design als Geisterbild sichtbar. Jetzt die
Garnitur mit einem feinen Wasserstrahl besprühen und
die Emulsion an den unbelichteten Stellen auswaschen.
Das Druckbild ist jetzt weiss und durchlässig, der Rest
ist blau und dicht.
Die Garnitur mit Küchenpapier trocken tupfen,
anschliessend mit einer Wäscheklammer aufhängen
zum Fertigtrocknen.
3. The Wash-out Process
Place the exposed screen in a bowl with tepid water and soak
it for 5-10 minutes. The bowl should be covered, so that the
still photosensitive screen is protected from the light. After a
few minutes a ghost image will start to become visible. Now
you can spray the screen with water to remove the emulsion
in the image area. Keep spraying until the image is totally
white and permeable, whereas the exposed areas remain
dark blue and tight. Dry the screen using tissue paper or a
kitchen towel and then hang it on a line to dry completely.

Das trockene Sieb leserichtig an der richtigen Stelle auf
des Glas legen und am oberen Ende mit Klebeband
festkleben, so dass das Sieb auf- und zugeklappt werden
kann.
Place the dried screen on your print area and fasten
the upper edge using adhesive tape so that the screen
can be flipped up.

5. Der Druck
5. The Print
Die Siebdruckfarbe oberhalb des Designs über die
gesamte Breite auftragen. Das Rakel im 45° Winkel
ansetzen und nach unten ziehen, so dass die Farbe
durch das Sieb gestrichen wird. Das Sieb vorsichtig
anheben und den Druck überprüfen. Gegebenenfalls
wiederholen.
Apply a rope of Color Line Silk Screen Paste on the upper end
of the screen. Position the squeegee at a 45° angle and pull
it towards you using enough pressure to pass the enamel
through the screen. Lift the screen carefully and examine the
print. Repeat the printing process if necessary.

6. Der Brand
Das bedruckte Glas trocknen lassen und nach Angaben
von Color Line Paste einbrennen. Bei mehrschichtiger
Arbeit jede einzelne Lage separat brennen und erst
nachher stapeln und zusammenschmelzen. Die oberste
Schicht immer unbedruckt lassen.
6. The Firing
Let the printed glass dry and then fire it according to the
recommendation given by Color Line. If you plan a multilayer
piece, fire each layer separately before finally stacking them
into a block for a subsequent firing. For the top layer use an
unprinted sheet of glass, capping the project.

7. Lagerung der Produkte
7. Storing of the Products
Belichtete Siebdruckgarnituren flach und trocken lagern.
Unbelichtete Garnituren im Kühlschrank aufbewahren.
Dose mit den Color Line Siebdruck Pasten gut
verschliessen und kühl und trocken lagern.
Store exposed screens flat in a dry environment. Unexposed
screens must be kept inside a lightproof envelope in a dry
and cool place, e.g. in the fridge. Color Line Paste tubs must
be closed tightly and kept dry and cool.
