International Music Competition Cologne Repertoire singing Preliminary round uncut DVD (Video) • • • 1 Lied 1 aria from an oratorio 1 aria from an opera The Lied has to be sung in german language, the arias in the respective original language. Free choice of repertoire. The panel of experts selects the participants for the first round. First round (20 minutes max.), 36 participants • • • 3 Lieder from different ages (one has to be by G. Mahler) 1 aria from an oratorio 1 aria from an opera The participants can select the running order. All works have to be sung in the respective original language. Second round (30 minutes max) The participants are free to select their programme. It has to contain Lieder, arias from both opera and oratorio with a maximum of 30 minutes in total. All works have to bee sung in the original language. Repertoire from the first round must not be repeated. The assessment of the panel is influenced by selection and quality of the chosen repertoire. Final round with orchestra Three participants with three arias each. Two arias from the given repertoire from opera and one aria from the given repertoire oratorio, to be sung in original language.
