MÁLAGA OF THE THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS
Many are the peoples, religions and cultures that since prehistoric times have arrived from the Mediterranean
to the south of Spain.
Important reminiscence of the Carthaginians, the Romans, and the Hebrews still remain, but the remnants
of the Arab civilization will most draw our attention with its great capitals, magnificent monuments and
the influence it had on the Christian culture during more than than five centuries.
Only in this way it is possible to understand the current Andalusia with its villages, art, society and landscape.
DAY 01 MÁLAGA / Arrival
After arriving in Málaga we will enjoy a monumental visit of the city and shall discover the historical centre with its fortress
“La Alcazaba” and Cathedral.
Málaga is the heart of the Costa del Sol and has one of the great Spanish Mediterranean harbours in its wide bay. Its climate
and privileged geographical position have always attracted different settlers.
The city was founded by the Phoenicians attracted by the abundance of metals in this area -mainly silver and copper-, although
it was the presence of Muslims until the fifteenth century which marked more deeply the physiognomy of the city.

DAY 02 MÁLAGA / Excursion NATURAL PARK MONTES DE MÁLAGA
After breakfast we will travel to the Montes de Málaga Natural Park, located north of the city, and which covers most of the
Guadalmedina River basin on its left bank.
During a hiking trail we will be able to admire the beauty of this area. Afterwards we will visit the Ecomuseum Lagar de Torrijos
where we will have the opportunity to undertake activities related to the environment and its history.
Before returning to Málaga we will taste the local dishes and sausages accompanied by the regional wines in one of the
traditional “ventas”.

DAY 03 MÁLAGA
Today is dedicated to Málaga and its museums, standing out the Picasso Museum and the Carmen Thyssen Museum.
We will enjoy a special lunch of Málaga “tapas” before continuing with a visit to the new Automobile Museum, located in the
former tobacco company and which has a magnificent collection that will take us through different automobile epochs until
the present day.
Today's visit will end on Gibralfaro Castle, in Arabic "the mountain of the lighthouse", located atop a hill overlooking the city
and offering spectacular views over the harbour and sea.

TAG 01 MÁLAGA / Ankunft
Nach unserer Ankunft unternehmen wir eine Besichtigung der Monumente der historischen Altstadt Málagas mit der
Alcazababurg und der Kathedrale.
Málaga ist die Hauptstadt der Costa del Sol und einer der großen Mittelmeerhäfen Spaniens im Herzen einer ausgedehnten
Bucht. Sein Klima und seine privilegierte geographische Lage haben seit jeher die Siedler angezogen.
Die Stadt wurde von den Phöniziern gegründet, die hier dem Ruf der reichen Metallvorkommen folgten, besonders Kupfer
und Silber. Aber es war der lange Aufenthalt der Moslems bis in das 15. Jahrhundert, der dem Stadtbild seinen endgültigen
Stempel aufdrückte.

TAG 02 MÁLAGA / Ausflug NATURPARK MONTES DE MÁLAGA
Nach dem Frühstück begeben wir uns Richtung Norden in den Naturpark Montes de Málaga, einem Gebirge am linken Ufer
des Flusses Guadalmedina. Auf einer Wanderung genießen wir seinen landschaftlichen Reize und erkunden die Eigenheiten
und Geschichte dieses Landstriches.
Vor unser Rückkehr nach Málaga verkosten wir die Wurstwaren und Spezialitäten zusammen mit den Weinen der Gegend
in einem typischen Gasthof, einer sogenannten ‚Venta‘
Übernachtung in Málaga.
TAG 03 MÁLAGA
Der heutige Tag steht im Zeichen Málagas und seiner Museen, allen voran das Picasso-Museum und das Carmen-ThyssenMuseum.
Darauf genießen wir ein Tapas-Essen mit Spezialitäten aus Málaga, bevor wir dem neuen Automobilmuseum einen Besuch
abstatten. In der ehemaligen Tabakfabrik können wir eine ausgezeichnete Sammlung Oldtimer bewundern, die uns auf eine
Zeitreise bis auf die heutigen Tage führt.
Die Besichtigungen lassen wir für heute in der Burg Gibralfaro ausklingen, was auf arabisch soviel wie ‚Leuchturmberg‘
bedeutet. Sie liegt auf einer Anhöhe über der Stadt und man hat einen herrlichen Blick über Meer und Hafen.

TAG 04 MÁLAGA / Ausflug RONDA
Heute vormittag geht es durch das regenreichste Gebiet Spaniens, den Naturpark Grazalema mit seinen grünen und schroffen
Gebirgslandschaften, in die Serranía von Ronda. Die namensgebende Hauptstadt des Gebirges liegt unglaublich kühn über
einer Schlucht, die die Altstadt mit der Marienkirche von dem neueren Teil mit dem Stierkampfplatz aus dem 18. Jh. trennt.
Die Arena ist die älteste der Welt, in ihr entstand die Kunst des Stierkampfes und hier finden die bekannten, in Goyas
Radierungen inspirierten ‚goyesken Stierkämpfe‘ statt.
In der Nähe Rondas besuchen wir einen typischen Weinkeller und verkosten die Weine der Region, bevor wir nach Málaga
zurückkehren und uns der Nachmittag zur freien Verfügung steht.
Fakultativ können wir die „arabischen Bäder“ in Málaga aufsuchen, die unter dem Namen ‚Hammam‘ uns über ein perfektes
Zusammenspiel von Spiritualität, Gesellschaftlichkeit, Entspannung und Sinnesfreuden helfen, den körperlichen und seelischen
Frieden wiederzugewinnen. Der Hammam von Málaga ist heute eine ausgewogene Mischung aus Licht, Temperatur, Klang,
Aromen und Empfindungen die uns in eine Dimension entrücken, weit entfernt vom durch Eile, Lärm und Stress geprägten
Alltag.

Nach dem Frühstück treten wir die Heimreise an, das Gepäck voll schöner Erinnerungen und Erlebnisse.
DAY 04 MÁLAGA / Excursion RONDA
This morning we will cross the Grazalema Natural Park, the rainiest area in Spain a mountain range of green and abrupt
landscapes before reaching the Serranía de Ronda.
The capital that gives its name to the Serranía de Ronda is incredibly nestled on a cut “tajo” that separates the old quarter
with the Santa María Church and the new part of the city with its bullfighting ring. This ring is dating from the 17th century,
being the oldest in the world and birthplace of the famous “goyescas” bullfighting.
Before returning to Málaga we will visit a local winery with tasting in the area of Ronda.
We will enjoy the afternoon at leisure, which will offer us the opportunity to optionally visit the Arab Baths in Málaga, also
known as “hammam”, a perfect blend of spirituality, social life, relax and pleasure of the senses that will help us recover peace
of body and soul.
Nowadays the Hammam of Malaga is a sophisticated blend of light, temperature, sound, scents and sensations that takes
us to a dimension which is far away from the world of rush, noise and stress that often surrounds us.

LA MÁLAGA DE LAS MIL Y UNA NOCHES
Numerosos han sido los pueblos, religiones y culturas que desde la Prehistoria arribaron al sur de España
por el Mediterráneo. Quedan importantes reminiscencias de los cartagineses, los romanos y los hebreos,
aunque sin duda, lo que más nos llamará la atención será la civilización de los árabes, sus grandes capitales,
sus magníficos monumentos y la influencia que han ejercido sobre la cultura de los cristianos. Sólo de esta
manera se explican los pueblos, el arte, la sociedad y el paisaje de la Andalucía actual.
DIA 01 MÁLAGA / Llegada
Tras nuestra llegada realizaremos una visita monumental durante la que descubriremos el centro histórico de Málaga con
su Alcazaba y Catedral
Málaga es el núcleo básico de la Costa del Sol y cuenta con uno de los grandes puertos españoles del Mediterráneo situado
al fondo de su amplia bahía. Su clima y situación geográfica privilegiada han atraído desde siempre a distintos pobladores.
La ciudad fue fundada por los fenicios que se desplazaron hasta la misma por su abundancia en metales -principalmente
plata y cobre-, aunque fue la presencia de los musulmanes hasta el siglo XV, la que marcó más profundamente la fisonomía
de la ciudad.

DIA 02 MÁLAGA / Excursión PARQUE NATURAL MONTES DE MALAGA
Después del desayuno saldremos hacia el Parque Natural Montes de Málaga, situado al norte de la ciudad y que abarca la
mayor parte de la cuenca del río Guadalmedina en su margen izquierda.
Realizaremos una ruta de senderismo para poder admirar toda la belleza del mismo, también visitaremos el Ecomuseo
Lagar de Torrijos donde tendremos la oportunidad de realizar actividades relacionada con el entorno y su historia.
Antes de regresar a Málaga podremos degustar los embutidos y platos típicos de la zona acompañados por el vino de la
comarca en una de sus tradicionales “ventas”.

DIA 03 MÁLAGA
El día de hoy está dedicado a Málaga y sus museos, destacando el Museo Picasso y el Museo Carmen Thyssen.
Disfrutaremos de un almuerzo especial a base de tapas malagueñas antes de continuar con la visita al nuevo Museo del
Automóvil, situado en la antigua tabacalera de la ciudad y que cuenta con una magnífica colección que viaja a través del
tiempo hasta nuestros días.
La visita del hoy finalizará en el Castillo de Gibralfaro, en árabe “la montaña del faro”, situado encima de una colina que
domina la ciudad y que ofrece vistas espectaculares sobre el puerto y el mar.

DIA 04 MÁLAGA / Excursión RONDA
Esta mañana atravesaremos el Parque Natural de Grazalema,
la zona donde más llueve en España, una sierra de paisajes
verdes y abruptos, antes de alcanzar la Serranía de Ronda.
La capital que da nombre a la Serranía de Ronda está
enclavada de manera inverosímil sobre un tajo que separa la
parte antigua con su iglesia Santa María la Mayor, de la parte
nueva con su Plaza de Toros del siglo XVII y la más antigua
del mundo, donde nació el arte del toreo y donde se celebran
las famosas corridas goyescas.
En la zona de Ronda visitaremos una bodega típica y
degustaremos los vinos de la zona antes de regresar a Málaga
y disfrutar de la tarde libre.
De manera opcional podremos visitar los “baños árabes” en
Málaga, también conocidos como “hammam”, una perfecta
mezcla de espiritualidad, vida social, relax y placer de los
sentidos que nos ayudará a recuperar la paz del cuerpo y del
alma.
Actualmente el Hammam de Málaga es una sofisticada
amalgama de luz, temperatura, sonido, aromas y sensaciones
que nos transporta a una dimensión muy ajena al mundo de
prisas, ruidos y estrés nos suele rodear.

Después del desayuno regresaremos a casa con el equipaje
repleto de gratos recuerdos y experiencias.
