Alle Varianten der INSTAT 7 Familie werden
nach dem folgenden Schema bedient.
Diese Anleitung wendet sich speziell an
die Anwender des INSTAT 7.
Die Installation ist in der separaten
Installations-Anleitung beschrieben.
Einstellung der Solltemperatur
Durch drücken von Z bzw. a wird die Solltemperatur
blinkend angezeigt.
● Mit Z bzw. a kann nun die Solltemperatur in
0,5 °C Schritten verändert werden.
● Mit b die Wahl bestätigen. Im Display wird wieder die
Raumtemperatur angezeigt.
Kurzanleitung

Kühlen P“ „Nur Lüften f“, „Heizen / Kühlen Automatik c “
●
Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil an der gewünschten Betriebsart blinkt.
●
Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Einstellung der Totzone und der Stufenabstände
Taste b für ca. 5 sec. drücken.
Im Display wird die Totzone H1 : C1 (Heizen 1: Kühlen 1)
und deren aktueller Wert blinkend angezeigt.
● Mit Z bzw. a kann nun die Totzone in 0,5 °C Schritten
verändert werden.
● Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Im Display wird ggf. die Raumtemperatur angezeigt.
Sind die Stufenabstände ( H1 : H2 bzw. C1 : C2 ) einstellbar
(variantenabhängig), werden diese im Display der Reihe
nach angezeigt und gemäß obigem Schema eingestellt.

Das Display zeigt nun die gewählte Betriebsart und die
Funktion „ Lüfter - Automatik c “ an.
Einstellung der Lüfterfunktionen „Lüfter 1 g“,
„ Lüfter 2 h“, „ Lüfter 3 i“, „ Lüfter - Automatik c“
●
Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil an der gewünschten Lüfterfunktion blinkt.
●
Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Das Display zeigt nun die neu gewählte Lüfterfunktion an.

Gerätes sind an der Symbolik um die Anzeige erkennbar.
Bei den Reglern können folgende Eigenschaften eingestellt werden:
2 Allgemeine Hinweise zum Gerät
Der Regler zeigt die Raumtemperatur an.
Bei Spannungsausfall bleiben alle Daten (außer ON/OFFTimer) erhalten. Bei Spannungswiederkehr wird die Betriebsart/Funktionen weiter bearbeitet, die vor Spannungsausfall aktiv waren.
Bei der Heiz- Kühlstufe wird die Wiederanlaufverzögerung wirksam.
Achtung:
Bei Spannungsausfall werden die ON/OFF-Timer beendet.

In dieser Anleitung wird nur die Bedienung /Einstellung
der einzelnen Betriebsarten und Funktionen beschrieben. Technische Details siehe Installationsanleitung.
Hier werden alle Betriebsarten/Funktionen der Gerätefamilie beschrieben. Die Eigenschaften des vorliegenden

3.1 Allgemeine Hinweise zur Bedienung
Mit Ywird der blinkende Pfeil ▲ zur gewünschten Betriebsart/Funktion verschoben. Mit b (Pfeil blinkt) wird die gewählte Funktion aktiviert. Nach Auswahl einer Betriebsart
wird automatisch auch die Funktion Automatik-Lüften aktiviert. Bei Betätigen von Y(nach b) startet der Pfeil immer
: . Während
bei
der
Neueinstellung
einer
Betriebsart/Funktion bleiben die Pfeile an der bisherigen
Position erhalten bis die Neue gewählt ist.
Innerhalb der Gruppe Betriebsarten, und der Funktionsgruppen „Lüften f“, und „Timer 2“, kann immer nur
eine Eigenschaft ausgewählt werden.
Damit eine Funktion aktiv werden kann muß immer
eine Betriebsart gewählt sein.
Mit Z bzw. a können Zahlenwerte wie Soll-Temperatur
Totzone oder Stufenabstände eingestellt werden.
Keine Eingabe für ca. 30 sec bricht die Eingabe ab. In diesem Fall werden Änderungen nicht übernommen.

3.2 Soll-Temperatur einstellen/anzeigen
Erstmaliges drücken der Z bzw. a Taste zeigt die SollTemperatur blinkend an.
Mit Z bzw. a kann nun die Soll-Temperatur in 0,5 °C
Schritten verändert werden.
Mit b die Eingabe bestätigen.
Die Raumtemperatur wird wieder angezeigt.
3. Mit b die Eingabe bestätigen.
(Durch weiteres Betätigen von b werden die ggf. vorhandenen Stufenabstände angezeigt).
4. Ggf. Punkt 2 und 3 für die Stufenabstände durchführen.
3.3 Totzone bzw. Stufenabstände einstellen
Folgende Totzone bzw. Stufenabstände können eingestellt werden:
● Totzone zwischen Heizen und Kühlen (H1 : C1)
● Stufenabstand Heizstufe 1 zu 2
(H1 : H 2)
● Stufenabstand Kühlstufe 1 zu 2
(C1 : C2)
1. b für ca. 5 sec. drücken.
Das Symbol für die Totzone H1 : C1 und deren Wert
(hier 1,5°C) werden blinkend angezeigt.

Hinweise:
Beim Beenden von Stand By kann es ca. 4 Minuten
dauern, bis das Heiz- bzw. Kühlgerät einschaltet.
● Stand By wird auch bei Ablauf des ON-Timers beendet,
siehe Seite 10.
3.4 Stand By (Bereitschaft) :
●
Durch diese Betriebsart wird der Regler und damit das
Klimagerät abgeschaltet. Der Regler bleibt jedoch am
Netz. Nach beenden von Stand By müssen die Betriebsart und die Funktionen neu eingestellt werden.
3.5 Nur Heizen U
Einschalten von Stand By:
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei : blinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Nur die Betriebsart Heizen des Reglers wird aktiviert. Die
Regelung erfolgt entsprechend der eingestellten Temperatur. Nur wenn die Heizung eingeschaltet ist, wird das
Symbol U angezeigt.
Hinweise:
● Nach Einschalten von Stand By können die Lüfter noch
für ca. 1 Minute nachlaufen.
● Ein ggf. laufender OFF-Timer wird abgeschaltet, siehe
Seite 11.
● Während Stand By kann die Soll-Temperatur verändert
werden.

2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.

Durch Wahl einer neuen Betreibsart/Funktion
Das Einschalten der Heizung kann sich, wegen der Wiederanlaufverzögerung, um ca. 4 Minuten verzögern.

3.6 Nur Kühlen P
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Nur die Betriebsart Kühlen des Reglers wird aktiviert. Die
Regelung erfolgt entsprechend der eingestellten Temperatur. Nur wenn die Kühlung eingeschaltet ist, wird das
Symbol Pangezeigt.
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei Pblinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
3.8 Heizen / Kühlen -Automatik c
Hinweis:
Das Einschalten der Kühlung kann sich, wegen der Wiederanlaufverzögerung, um ca. 4 Minuten verzögern.
Durch den Regler erfolgt je nach Raumtemperatur eine
automatische Umschaltung zwischen Heizen und Kühlen.
Ist zusätzlich Lüfter-Automatik gewählt, wird die Lüfterstufe temperaturabhängig eingestellt.
3.7 Nur Lüften f
Wenn die Heizung aktiv ist, wird das Symbol U angezeigt, wenn die Kühlung aktiv ist, wird das Symbol P
angezeigt..
Heizen und Kühlen werden abgeschaltet,. Sind die Lüfterstufen g h i gewählt, arbeiten diese dauerhaft mit
der eingestellten Stufe. Ist Lüfter-Automatik c gewählt,
werden die Lüfterstufen temperaturabhängig gesteuert
(Lüften wenn Raumtemperatur größer Solltemperatur).

3.9 Lüfterstufen 1, 2, 3 g h i
Es kann eine der 3 Lüfterstufen dauerhaft gewählt werden, unabhängig von der Raumtemperatur. g entspricht
der kleinsten Lüfterstufe.
3.11 ON-Timer
V
Der Regler schaltet nach Ablauf der eingestellten Zeit automatisch ein.
Bei Aktivieren dieser Funktion, und nach Eingabe der Zeit
geht der Regler sofort in Stand By.
Nach Ablauf der eingestellten Zeit nimmt der Regler die
Betriebsart/Funktion wieder auf, die vor Aktivieren des Timers eingestellt waren.
Während sich der Regler in Stand By befindet, wird die
verbleibende Zeit angezeigt, bis der Regler wieder einschaltet.
Bei Ablauf oder Abbruch des Timers wird die Timeranzeige gelöscht.
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei V blinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Die Zeiteinstellung wird mit 00:00 angezeigt.
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei g h oder iblinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
3.10 Lüfter-Automatik c
Die Lüfterstufe wird automatisch, temperaturabhängig
eingestellt. Bei kleinem Unterschied zwischen Soll- und
Ist-Temperatur ist Lüfterstufe 1 geingeschaltet, je größer
der Temperaturunterschied ist, desto größer wird die
Lüfterstufe. Ist weder Heizen noch Kühlen eingeschaltet
(Raumtemperatur innerhalb der Totzone) sind die Lüfter
abgeschaltet. Lüfterabschaltung ggf. erst nach Lüfternachlaufzeit. Lüfternachlaufzeit beachten.

3. Mit Z bzw. a die blinkende Stelle verändern.
Mit b bestätigen.
4. Punkt 3 für alle Stellen wiederholen.
Mit Bestätigung der Minuten-Zehnerstelle wird die Zeit
gültig und der Regler geht automatisch in Stand By. Die
verbleibende Zeit wird angezeigt, nach Ablauf von
00:00 schaltet der Regler ein.
Abbrechen des Timers, durch Einstellen der Zeit auf 00:00.
Achtung:
Nach Spannungsausfall wird die Timerfunktion beendet,
der Regler arbeitet mit der Betriebsart/Funktion vor
Spannungsausfall weiter.
3.12 OFF-Timer
bis der Regler ausschaltet wird angezeigt. Nach Ablauf
der eingestellten Zeit geht der Regler in Stand By, und
bleibt dort bis eine andere Betriebsart eingestellt wird.
Bei Ablauf oder Abbruch des Timers wird die Timeranzeige gelöscht.
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei Wblinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Die Zeiteinstellung wird mit 00:00 angezeigt.
3. Mit Z bzw. a die blinkende Stelle verändern.
Mit b bestätigen.
4. Punkt 3 für alle Stellen wiederholen.
Mit der Bestätigung der Minuten-Zehnerstelle wird die
Zeit gültig. Die verbleibende Zeit wird angezeigt, nach
Ablauf von 00:00 schaltet der Regler in Stand By.
Abbrechen des Timers, durch Einstellen der Zeit auf
00:00.
Wird während der Timerlaufzeit Stand By gewählt, wird
die Timerfunktion beendet.
W
Der Regler schaltet nach Ablauf der eingestellten Zeit automatisch aus.
Bei Aktivieren dieser Funktion, und nach Eingabe der Zeit
arbeitet der Regler normal weiter. Die verbleibende Zeit

Achtung:
Nach Spannungsausfall wird die Timerfunktion beendet,

3.13 Lüfterklappensteuerung
3.14 Ein/Ausschalter
In der Stellung Aus ist der Regler einpolig vom Netz getrennt.
Verhalten wie unter Punkt 2 beschrieben.

Die Lüfterklappensteuerung sorgt für eine gleichmäßige
Temperatur/Luftverteilung im Raum.
Die Lüfterklappensteuerung ist eingeschaltet, wenn der
Pfeil e auf das Symbol X zeigt.
Einschalten (kein Pfeil am Symbol):
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei X blinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Der Pfeil steht nun am Symbol.
Ausschalten (Pfeil befindet sich bereits am Symbol):
1. Y so oft drücken, bis der Pfeil bei X blinkt.
2. Mit b die Wahl bestätigen.
Kein Pfeil mehr am Symbol.
3.15 Reset
Bei unerklärlichen Störungen sollte die Resettaste bestätigt werden.
Zum Aktivieren von Reset mit einem spitzen Gegenstand
in das Loch zwischen den Tasten x drücken.
Verhalten wie unter Punkt 2 beschrieben.
3.16 Reinigung
Mit einem weichen, leicht feuchten Lappen und mildem
Reinigungsmittel.

All variants of the INSTAT 7 family are operated
in accordance with the following principles.
This manual has been drawn up specifically
for users of the model INSTAT 7.
The installation procedures are set out in the
separate installation manual.
Setting the set temperature
By pressing Z or a once the set temperature will
flash on the display.
● WithZ or a the set temperature can now be changed
in steps of 0.5 °C.
● Press b to confirm the selection.
The display now shows the room temperature once again.

● WithZ or a the dead zone can now be altered in steps
of 0.5 °C.
● Press b to confirm the selection.
The display now shows the room temperature.
If the stage gaps can be altered ( H1:H2 or C1:C2 ) (depending on model), then these will be shown on the display in sequence and set in accordance with the above method.
The display now shows the newly selected mode and the
function “ Fan - Automatic c “.

The following features can be set on the thermostats:
2 GENERAL INFORMATION
The thermostat displays the room temperature.
Settings:
Set temperatur
● Dead zone and the stage gaps
●
In the event of mains failure, all data (except ON/OFF
timer) remain stored. As soon as power is reconnected,
the same operating mode / functions active prior to the
mains failure are reactivated.
Operating modes:
Stand-by
● Heating only
● Cooling only
● Fan only
● Heating/cooling automatic
●
In the case of the heating/cooling is active, the restart delay is activated.
Caution:
In the event of mains failure, ON/OFF timer is deactivated.
3 OPERATION

This manual only describes the operation/setting of the individual operating modes and functions. For technical
specifications, please see the installation manual.
All operating modes/functions of the equipment family are
included here. The features of the present unit are indicated by means of the symbols around the display.

3.1 General operating advice
Press Y to move the flashing pointer ▲ to the desired operating mode/function. Press b (pointer flashes) to activate
the selected function. Following selection of an operating
mode, the automatic fan function is automatically activated as well. When Y is pressed (after b), the pointer always starts at : . When an operating mode/function is
being reset, the pointer remain at the previous position
until the new one has been selected.
Only one feature can be selected at one time from the
operating mode group and the function groups “Fan f”,
and “Timer 2” .
In order to activate a function, an operating mode always has to be selected.
By pressing Z or a , numerical values such as set temperature dead zone or stage gap can be set.
If no entry is made for approx. 30 sec., the setting is
interrupted. If this happens, alterations are not saved.
1. Press Y repeatedly
until the pointer
flashes at f.
2. Press b to confirm.
Now there are pointers at f and 1.
3. Press Y repeatedly until the pointer flashes at g.
4. Press b to confirm. Now there are pointers at f
and g.

(Pressing b again causes the stage gaps to be displayed)
4. If necessary, follow Figs. 2 and 3 to change the stage
gaps
3.2 Setting/displaying the set temperature
1. Pressing Z or a once causes the set temperature display to flash.
2. With Z or a the set temperature can now be changed
in 0.5 °C steps
3. Press b to confirm the entry
The room temperature is displayed once again.
3.3 Setting the dead zone or stage gaps
The following dead zones or stage gaps can be set:

Dead zone between heating and cooling
●
Stage gap heating stage 1 to 2
(H1 : H 2)
●
Stage gap cooling stage 1 to 2
(C1 : C2)

1. Press b for approx. 5 sec.
The symbol for the dead zone H1 : C1 and its value
(here 1.5 ) are flashing on the display

3.4 Stand-by
Note:
When stand-by mode is ended it can take approx. 4
minutes for the heating or cooling unit to be reactivated.

This operating mode switches off the thermostat and
also the air conditioner. The thermostat however remains connected to the power supply. Once the standby mode has ended, the operating mode and functions
must be reentered.
●
Stand-by is also ended when the ON timer expires, see
page 10.
3.5 Heating only U
Switching on stand-by:
1. Press Y repeatedly until the pointer flashes at : .
2. Press b to confirm the selection.
Only the heating operating mode of the thermostat is activated. This is carried out in accordance with the set temperature. Only when the heater is switched on, the symbol
U is displayed.
1. Press Y repeatedly until the pointer flashes at U .

Only the cooling operating mode of the thermostat is activated. This is carried out in accordance with the set temperature. Only when the cooler is switched on, the symbol

3.8 Automatic heating / cooling c
Depending on the room temperature the thermostat switches automatically between heating and cooling. If automatic fan has also been selected, the setting of the fan
speed depends on the temperature.
3.7 Fan only f
If fan speed 1, 2, 3 are selected, fan works continuously.If
the heater is active, then the symbol U is displayed. If the
cooler is active, the symbol P is shown.
Heating and cooling are switched off. Once the fan speeds
g h i have been selected, these remain in operation
at the set speed. If the automatic fan control c has been
selected, the fan speeds are temperature dependent
(Ventilation required when room temperature exceeds set
temperature).

3.9 Fan speeds 1, 2, 3 g h i
One of the 3 fan speeds can be set permanently, independent of the room temperature. The symbol g indicates the lowest fan speed.
3.11 ON timer V
The thermostat switches on automatically at the end of
set time.
When this function is activated, and after the time has
been entered, the thermostat immediately switches to
stand-by mode.
Once the set time has expired, the thermostat restarts the
operating mode/function which was set prior to the
activation of timer.
While the thermostat is in stand-by mode, the display shows
the time remaining until the thermostat is reactivated.
When the timer is expired or stopped, the timer display is
deleted.

3.10 Automatic fan c
The fan speed is selected automatically, depending on the
temperature. If the difference between the set and the actual temperature is small, fan speed 1 gis activated. The
greater the temperature difference, the higher the fan
speed will be. If neither heating nor cooling are active
(room temperature within the dead zone), then the fans
will be switched off. Notice Fan delay.

The remaining time is displayed until the thermostat switches off. When the set time has expired, the thermostat
goes into stand-by mode, and stays there until another
operating mode is set.
3. WithZ or a change the flashing position.
Confirm with b.
4. Repeat item 3 for all positions.
When the ten-minute digit is confirmed, the time will become valid and the thermostat will automatically go into
stand-by mode. The remaining time is displayed, when
00:00 has expired the thermostat is activated.
Stop the timer by setting the time to 00:00.
When the timer is expired or stopped, the timer display is
deleted.

In the event of mains failure, the timer function is stopped.

3.12 OFF timer W
The thermostat switches off automatically following expire of the set time.
When this function is activated, and following the entry of
the time, the thermostat continues to operate as normal.
Stop the timer by setting the time to 00:00.
If stand-by is selected during the timer period, the timer
function will be stopped.

Caution:
In the event of mains failure the timer function will be ended. The thermostat will continue to work with the operating mode/function active prior to the mains failure.
3.13 Air sweep
3.14 On/Off switch
In the position Off the thermostat is separated from the
power supply by a single pole.
Follow the steps described under chap. 2.

The air sweep ensures that the temperature/air distribution in the room is kept steady.
Air sweep is activated when the pointer e indicates the
symbol X .
3.15 Reset
Please push the reset button when unknown modes happen. To activate reset, press a thin pin into the hole between button x . Behavior as mentioned at point 2.
Switching on (no pointer at the symbol):
1. Press Y repeatedly until the pointer flashes at X .
2. Press b to confirm the selection.
The pointer now indicates the symbol
Switching off (pointer is already at the symbol):
1. Press Y repeatedly until the pointer flashes at X .
2. Press b to confirm the selection.
The pointer no longer indicates the symbol.
