Our bilingual kindergarten was founded in response to changing world circumstances. KIBS
offers an holistic education. The children learn
social skills such as respect, tolerance and
kindness. The KIBS concept offers best practice
in bilingual immersion education. This goes
alongside a rigorous programme of formative
and summative assessment. Class rooms are
arranged in the Anglophone way, allowing the
children to move easily from group work to
individual work. This all goes to form the KIBS
educational concept.

Our students develop lifelong learning skills,
as per our slogan „local roots - global understanding“.
We want them to have independent learning
skills and develop into caring and responsible
world citizens.
Die KIBS hat ein Kollegium mit Lehrern
und Erziehern aus Deutschland, England,
den USA, Kanada und weiteren Ländern,
bei denen es sich größtenteils um „Native
speaker“, bzw. „Near-native speaker“
handelt.

In unserer Kindertagesstätte werden 96
Kinder in fünf Gruppen von ihrem ersten
Geburtstag an bis zum Schuleintritt
betreut. Unsere Bildung und Erziehung
im „Elementarbereich niedersächsischer
Tageseinrichtungen“ wird durch das
britische „Foundation Stage Curriculum“
ergänzt.
We take 96 children into 5 Kindergarten
groups from their first birthday. Our education and care programme for our youngest
children is based on the Early Years Curriculum
of Lower Saxony and supplemented by the
English Foundation Stage Curriculum.

The Kindergarten is open from
8.00am - 4.00pm.
The After School Care Programme
is open from 4.00pm - 5.00pm.
Early Morning Care is open from
7.30am - 8.00am.
Bilingual Education
The primary teaching methodology we use in
our kindergarten is learning
• in the Nursery from one to three years
• in the all age group from two to six years
• in the Kindergarten group from three to
six years
through directed and undirected play.
Everything is done in the two languages.
Following two years of bilingual kindergarten,
children are ready to start in our
primary school. Our kindergarten
staff are all fully trained early
years educators, who work in both
languages with the children.
Der Kindergarten ist pro Schuljahr innerhalb
der Schulferien an fünf Wochen geschlossen.
Dazu kommen 2 Tage Schließzeit zur
Fortbildung der Erzieherinnen.
Holiday programme
The Kindergarten is closed for five weeks during summer holidays, plus two days for staff
training.
