Lisa Alma erschafft mit ihrer sanften Stimme, den ruhigen Pianoakkorden und pulsierenden
elektronischen Beats eine ganz eigene Dream-Pop Welt. Die melodramatische Aura ihres
selbstbetitelten Albums verleiht 80er Jahre Popmusik einen zeitgenössischen Dreh. Mitreißende Klänge

Lisa Alma wurde 1986 geboren und kommt aus Kopenhagen. Sie hat einen Master in Theatre and
Performance Studies und ihr erstes Album ist eine Mischung aus persönlichen Erfahrungen und
künstlerischer Entfaltung. Ihre Arbeit im Bereich der Performancekunst und Fotografie und das
Einbinden vielfältiger Medien ruft ein Gefühl von Transzendenz in der Musik hervor. Indem sie Film und
Fotografie miteinbezieht, erweitert sie ihre bereits ausdrucksstarke musikalische Aussage.

Lisa Alma ist eine moderne Komponistin mit einer beeindruckenden Stimme, die zusammen mit ihren
low-fi Produktionen verträumte Klanglandschaften erzeugt. 2013 ist Lisa Almas selbst veröffentlichtes
Debütalbum “Lisa Alma” erschienen. Mit der Veröffentlichung ihrer neuen EP “Oh Darling, Let’s Be
Adventurers” (2014) bereitet sie den Weg für ihr zweites Album “Sweater”, das am 21. April 2015
erscheint.
Im Herbst 2013 war Lisa Alma auf US-Tour mit Ólafur Arnalds (IS), Federico Aubele (ARG) und ist 2013
bei Showcases wie dem CMJ und im Jahr 2014 beim SXSW aufgetreten.

Minty Fresh. Alma is in good hands. In the late nineties, Chicago-based Minty Fresh (Liz Phair, Veruca Salt)
brought Swedish band The Cardigans to the world-wide charts with their hit “Lovefool”, and the label
continues to provide an American home for other Northern European bands looking to break onto the scene in the States.
Lisa Alma has a masterʼs degree in Theatre and Performance Studies and works in the fields of performance
art, photography and music. Alma has four image-driven art-film style videos, one of which she made herself.
But even without the visual content, her songs are vivid, symbolic and thought-provoking. With a base of
dreamy electronic rhythms and eighties-inspired synths, Almaʼs confidently emotional vocals soar above the
mix. The lyrics are poetic and image-driven. “We move a little, we cry a little / inside we realize, itʼs our time,”
she sings. Tracks like “Spaced Out” and “Outbalance” are poignant stand-outs with strong retro motifs
reminiscent of Sinead OʼConnorʼs breakthrough record I Do Not Want What I Havenʼt Got.
The last song on the record is an equally intriguing remix of “Outbalance” by DJ and producer SCHAARUP,
who skillfully maintains the focus on Almaʼs lush voice while creatively re-interpreting the songʼs structure.
Fans of dream-pop and electronica will fall in love with Almaʼs cool confidence and siren songs. And Minty
Fresh is not the only label primed to turn some attention on the blossoming Scandinavian alt-rock post-pop
scene. Prepare for the Danish invasion."
