Scobee PTA Newsletter
Be informed. Be active. Be your kid’s biggest fan. Be PTA.
A Note of Thanks...
Happy Fall! It is hard to believe it is already November and the holiday rush is upon us! October
was a great month at Scobee! We wrapped up our PTA Big Kahuna Fundraiser with fantastic
results! Product and prizes will be delivered Nov 13th – so mark your calendars! We cannot
thank our fabulous student sellers and parents enough! Your support makes it possible for
Scobee PTA to fund field trips, the Accelerated Reader Program, the Outdoor Classroom,
Student Incentives, Teacher Appreciation, Carnival and much more! We were wowed last month
by the amazing artistic abilities of our students who submitted Reflections entries, by the
precision of our Bike Rodeo competitors, and by the epic dance moves at the Family Dance Night the excitement of Red
Ribbon Week had the students committed to being Drug Free!
We are truly blessed at Scobee Elementary – incredible teachers, great staff, selfless volunteers, involved parents, and
phenomenal students! We have many great reasons to be proud and thankful for this wonderful community! I encourage
you to take some time this month to Be Thankful – reflect on all you have to be grateful for and share it with your children.
Take a moment to tell those special people in your life how much they mean to you! These are the things that really
matter! Thank YOU for all you do to make Scobee such a special place! Marsha Faichtinger, Scobee PTA President

Watch D.O.G.S.
I would like to thank all of our fantastic Watch D.O.G.S. that have come in and worked a day at the

is scheduled to work a day to please make sure that your background check is done before that date if
you haven’t done it by now. I have set up a new program for signing up for Watch D.O.G.S. You will be
receiving an e-mail from me with a link for Volunteer Spot. I have already set it up for school days only.
Please keep that e-mail or this newsletter to access Volunteer Spot throughout the year. All you have to
do is click on the link, enter and confirm your e-mail, and you are in. From there all you have to do is click on the day that you
would like to sign-up for and make a note for your time you will be here and that’s it. You will receive an e-mail 2 days before
your day as a reminder automatically. I prefer using this link, but if you have trouble with it just come in and sign-up or call the
front office. Thank you again for your dedication to our school and our children!

Holiday Shoppe – Dec 2-5
We’ve been asked for several years to bring a Holiday
Shoppe to Scobee. What is a Holiday Shoppe? It is just
like a book fair, but instead of books, there are inexpensive
gift items. It is a great opportunity for students to learn
valuable life lessons like earning money from extra
household chores, budgeting money, making purchase
decisions, and ultimately to experience the joy of giving
during the holiday season. They are sure to light up when
you and family members open their gifts!
As a service program to our Scobee Families, the PTA is
bringing Peppermint Village Gift Shop to Scobee Dec 2-5.
They have been voted the “Best Holiday Shoppe in Texas!”
We have set our profit margin to ZERO to maximize the
affordability of this program to our students! Price-points
range from $.35 to $10, with most gifts under $6. They offer
over 85 Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Sister, Brother,
Aunt, Uncle, Teacher, and other gift items.
More information and a budget envelope will be
coming home in folders on 11/14!!
We will also be in need of volunteers to work the Holiday
Shoppe and assist the students with gift selection and
managing their money. If you can help out, please sign up
through SignUpGenius:
