A protest in a square, a
hammer to a wall, a toppled
statue – these are the visible
signs of regime change. But
systems change also happens
in stealth. Change agents
operate in camouflage.
Hacking cultures. Evolving
systems. Transforming
businesses. Working to make
the world a better place from
their cubicle. They don’t
wait for the ideal conditions.
They work with what is.
They make change from
where they are.
The League of Intrapreneurs
is a hypothesis: a hypothesis
that says that our old
institutions have a role
in getting us to a more
prosperous tomorrow. That
we can unlock human agency
even amidst scaled and
systematized organizations.
That we can re-program the
multinational companies, the
bureaucracies and regulators
of the world with fresh
insight and perspective.
We can
re-program the
multinational
companies, the
bureaucracies &
regulators of the
world with fresh
insight &
perspective.
That we can step into our
office and bring our full self
to work. That we can shed
our skin as mere human
resources and and assume
a more profound role as
change agents for society.
That we can use existing
infrastructure smartly
to scale emerging and
disruptive innovations. That
we can unlock institutional
assets to address societal
challenges.
We can unlock
institutional assets
to address societal
challenges.
From climate change to
rising inequality, from food
scarcity and water shortage
to the spread of global
disease, the challenges we
face are unprecedented in
human history. That’s why
we need allies working on
the inside. Actors who bring
courage, conviction, and a
knack for gaming systems
and bringing revolutionary
perspectives to life. We
need intrapreneurs – misfits,
mavericks, and politicos –
working to refresh the remit
and push the boundaries of
our institutions. Agents who
aren’t afraid to take on the
“inside job.”

within the walls
and corridors
of power.
These are the actors who
will help make change stick.
Who will anchor new ideas
by appealing to old values.

We support them. And
we think you should too!

GLOBAL SOCIAL INTRAPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT 2014
At the 1st Global Social Intrapreneurship Summit in Berlin,
we brought together 36 participants from around the
world to explore how we can collectively advance the social
intrapreneurship movement. Inspired by Berlin’s countercultural scene, we looked at movement models from unlikely
sources – hacker collectives, open source communities,
and peer-to-peer philosophies – to see how we could scale
and sustain a grassroots model of intrapreneurs working on
“inside jobs”.
We believe that by identifying individuals and teams inside
large institutions – particularly inside business, but also
governments and NGOs – who are creating positive
change – we can help them to amplify their impact.
“Intrapreneurs are isolated actors.
There is so much support out there
– incubators, funds and tools – for
entrepreneurs outside of the system. But
we really need to build out infrastructure
for those trying to be disruptive from
within.”

awareness about the
movement.
Create space for
social intrapreneurs &
other movement actors
to meet and connect.

To transform the system requires intense collaboration. Our
ambition is to build out the League of the Intrapreneurs as
an agile, open source brand that helps to coordinate other
actors in the movement. We do not see ourselves as an
organization. We are a spirit. A protocol. And a community.

“The game is changing fast: value now comes chiefly from
contributing to change, not repetition. That means that the
new measure of success for any organization is: what percentage
of your people are intrapreneurs and how effective are you at
enabling them to work together fluidly and openly?”
